Lin Zhenfei looked at her with no regard for her appearance and found her disgusting, "Were you a starving ghost in a past life? Your spit is splattering into the dish. How are we supposed to eat?"
"Then don’t eat it. You won’t starve to death from skipping a meal," Yuan Chun retorted without any courtesy.
Both Mr. Lin and Mrs. Lin frowned simultaneously.
They both realized that their biological daughter’s character seemed quite unpleasant, unlike her timid and weak demeanor on the train.
Both of them wondered if Yuan Chun had deliberately pretended to be timid and fearful.
Jiaojiao smiled at Yuan Chun in a flattering manner, "Sister, don’t be angry with brother. He was just joking with you."
Turning her head, she said to Lin Zhenfei, "Brother, don’t talk about sister. She’s not used to having such good dishes; she got a bit carried away with eating. We need to be more understanding. If brother doesn’t want to eat anymore, later on, let Ms. Liu make a bowl of wonton soup for brother to eat. I also want to eat wonton soup. Dad, Mom, do you want any?"
"Then let Ms. Liu make more, we’ll all have wonton soup," Wang Caihua put down her chopsticks, losing her appetite for the meal.
Although she didn’t see Yuan Chun splatter saliva, watching her eating habits was disgusting enough to make her almost puke up yesterday’s meal.
The Lin family was wealthy; the eight dishes and one soup were all fish and meat, with only one vegetarian dish, stir-fried spinach. Yuan Chun grabbed a chicken leg with her left hand and a pig’s trotter with her right hand, her face covered in grease.
Even the servants, upon watching her, turned away contemptuously and disdainfully.
But Yuan Chun didn’t care about any of that. She was most afraid of hunger, and when she was really hungry, she just wanted to gorge herself. Besides, she was a simple village girl with no table manners; she ate however was comfortable for her.
As for whether the Lin family had an appetite or not, well, what did that have to do with her.
Anyway, she couldn’t go hungry.
Wang Caihua was nauseated watching, but she gently reminded her, "Yuan Chun, eat more slowly and be careful not to choke."
Lin Jiaojiao even handed her a napkin, "Sister, here’s a clean napkin for you to use."
"Don’t give it to her, don’t waste a napkin," Lin Zhenfei reached out, snatched the napkin away, got up, and went to the living room with Lin Jiaojiao.
Mr. Lin and Mrs. Lin couldn’t stand it anymore, and the whole family moved to the living room, chatting and laughing.
