EndGame: The Successor's Legacy

Chapter 53: Hot

"Surrender." The deep and calm voice broke out Lunive from her reverie as she finally realised where she was.

Swiftly, she registered a cold feeling on her neck. Calix’s sword was her neck, its edge touching her skin as if eager for slicing her skin.

She blinked them after a long moment, a smile broke out on her face as she sighed deeply. She raised both of her hands, her staff disappearing into her space ring.

"I surrender." She spoke as she moved a step away.

"It was a good battle, I wish it would’ve gone on a bit longer." He said, drawing his sword down.

Woahhhhh...Yahhhhhhh....

Silence reigned for a moment then chaos broke out. Roars and shouts escaped everyone ’s as they stood up from their seats, exhilarated witnessing such a duel.

"Winner—Calix."

"Holy shit, now that was a duel."

"Woohoo, don’t worry, Lunive you did great."

"I swear it was the most exhilarating battle yet."

More and more comments and praises rang in their directions with something that sounded like a fanatic fan base of Lunive would say. Calix ignored them completely.

"Yeah yeah, rush at me crazily with a sword and then say that you would like it if it went longer." Lunive said, shaking her head.

"Haha, are you alright?" He said, glancing at the faint marks of blood on the side of her lips. His expression contained a hint of worry.

"Yeah, I am fine, no worries...um just a bit shocked...like literally, haha. Though, I must say that face sure is something. I wonder why you were hiding it." Lunive said with a familiar smirk on her face.

"I—" He was cut off.

"Wow, he’s so hot."

"Kyaaa, why did he hide such a face from us?

"Holy, what is that insanely sexy face?"

"Ahh I wish he would tell me to surrender like that in bed?"

Calix’s eyes twitched slightly as he listened to the shouts of girls that reached his ears. An itchy sensation ran through him, as he felt the girls boring their eyes through him.

"Hahaa, nevermind. I understand it already." Lunive laughed as she saw his reaction. Then abruptly she faltered as though dizzy.

Calix caught her shoulders instantly, as he supported her. Lunive pressed her hand against her head, as she squinted her eyes tightly. Her face was pale, her breathing laboured.

"That sure doesn’t look like fine to me, mana exhaustion?" He asked as they slowly moved towards the skybox.

"Well yes. Apparently those circles didn’t conjure up into the air themselves." She said, wincing through a harsh headache.

"Hmm, that suspiciously sounds like a brag. But about that. I must say that was impressive and... dangerous. Only a handful of people, I know , could do that." Calix said with a light smile on his face.

"Say’s the one who dodged it with ease." She said with a subtle roll of her eyes. Then..."Also, you speak as if you know the individuals who can do something similar like that." She spoke with a tilt of her head, her eyes locking on him.

"Hmm, something like that." He said nonchalantly with a light smile.

’Although, three of them are already watching from above.’ He thought in his mind.

"Tsk, pretentious." Lunive said.

"So, how was he?" Adrain asked, finally turning towards Vian who watched Calix and Lunive coming back after their duel.

"Oh, you seem pretty curious. First time, I saw you reacting like that." Vian smiled lightly as he said.

"Well, it was getting boring to always beat your ass. So, it’s nice I got a second one." Adrian said.

"Woah, such overconfidence... though, i must say he is good. He doesn’t seem to know much about swordsmanship and is rather using it as a catalyst to use lightning much more efficiently." He said then continued.

"However, his reflexes and response are top notch. Not to say, his elemental and mana manipulation is fabulous . I admit...he could be a good challenge." Vian said, assessing and praising Calix.

"That’s a high praise coming from you." Adrian said as he glanced up at the darkening sky, night was going to fall soon.

"He is deserving of it." Vian commented.

"Agreed, though I feel like he doesn’t have much experience fighting human’s...I don’t know why but it felt like he was having a hard time holding back his blade, as if he was stopping himself from going straight for the kill." Adrian said.

"That is quite an accurate assumption." A voice spoke up.

"Hm? What do you mean? Elizabeth"

Turning his face, Adrian saw Elizabeth walking towards them with Elowen, thus he asked.

"What I mean is, since his awakening three months ago, he had mostly hunted wild monsters...except for a few times. That’s why he always goes for the kill, habit perhaps I guess." Elizabeth explained it.

"I see, that makes sense. Wait! Did you just say he awakened only three months ago? Three months?" Vian asked as his face fractured into a shocked expression.

Same was with the others as Adrian’s eyes widened slightly while Elowen titled her head, her eyes narrowing slightly.

No one thought about Elizabeth lying, there simply was no reason to. Also they already knew that their friend wasn’t the kind of person who would lie over such things.

"Yes, it’s shocking right?" Elizabeth said, smiling slightly.

"Yeah, kinda too shocking." Adrian admitted.

"Hehe." Just then they all listened to a laugh beside them.

"Annnd he’s at it again." Theon who appeared out of the blue said as he glanced at Vian laughing to himself.

They all simultaneously looked at the guy, who was grinning like an idiot. Vian’s aura flared slightly as his eye’s sharpened to that of a skilled hunter.

They all already know about his habit of getting excited when he founds someone strong, thus they ignored him.

"Well it looks like both of you are gonna fight next." Adrian spoke with a snicker as he looked at Elizabeth and Elowen.
