Slime Evolution

At Lohan’s compliment, Lisa looked at him with her large, bright golden eyes, and a small smile formed on her face.

"Thank you, Halon," she said, turning to look at herself, equally amazed by the sensation of that evolution.

Although she was 50% larger compared to how she was just a few minutes ago, her control over her own body hadn’t diminished at all, with no need to get used to this new form.

Even with the second tail on her back, the sensation of having a new limb was a little different from normal, but since she was used to fighting with Halon himself, who was essentially an independent new limb, that wasn’t really anything new either.

"How’s your strength? Did you gain anything new? How was the process?" Halon asked curiously.

Although she had heard the accounts from the other group members, they were all human, so neither he nor Lisa were sure if the process they would undergo would be the same, not to mention that their Base was much higher than the group’s, which could bring about changes they hadn’t imagined.

Lisa closed her eyes and sensed her own body, analyzing her current physical, magical, and spiritual internal structure, and was pleasantly surprised by what she felt.

"My power is much greater, Halon... not only is my Magic Core 50% stronger, increasing my control and power over it, but my Spiritual Core has doubled in power!" As she said this, she blew a small white fireball, which, though small, burned with an intensity far greater than the previous ones.

When that flame struck the dead Cockatrice’s body on the ground, the small fireball made contact with the creature’s hard, resistant scales and melted them almost like a hot knife through butter.

Lohan was shocked to see that.

Lisa was already powerful; the power of her Spiritual Fire had been proven many times in the past, but never with such intensity.

That monster she had melted with ease was a Level 11 Cockatrice!

"That’s incredible, Lisa!" Lohan said excitedly, looking in admiration at the ring of white fire Lisa had formed, controlling the flames.

"Now that my control and reserve of Spiritual Energy are so high, I can finally develop more refined combat techniques... no more relying on you to do everything while I just spit fire, scratch with fire, and run fast..." she said excitedly, acting coy at the end of the sentence.

Seeing that cute white fox pouting as if she were upset about how "useless" she had been before, Lohan rolled his eyes, knowing how much lower-tier Players would kill to be "useless" like her.

Even with a limited variety of attacks available, the power of Lisa’s attacks was already extraordinary.

Now that she had undergone this evolution, it would surely be even greater.

And to prove it, Lisa burst into white flames and turned into a blur, vanishing from in front of Lohan, leaving only a trail of bright white fire where she had been, and then reappeared on the other side of the clearing.

If the speed of her Spectral Step was already high before, reaching around 40 m/s, that speed had increased tremendously with her evolution, reaching a current mark of 80 m/s!

That was the equivalent of going from 144 km/h (90 mph) to an incredible 288 km/h (180 mph)!!

Lohan was stunned by that speed.

Even rolling at his top speed, Lohan was still stuck at a low speed of nearly 3 m/s, while using Explosive Steps, his movement became almost uncontrollable, with his speed skyrocketing to around 15 m/s, slightly faster than Lisa’s previous normal run, but slower than when she used Spectral Step.

But now, with this evolution of hers, Lisa had advanced to a completely new league.

Lohan was certain that if Lisa wanted to face the guild’s group of Players, with just that speed alone she could handle them almost effortlessly.

Perhaps only Wyrm would have a chance to hold her back for a few moments, but with the power of her fire, she would burn the plants with ease.

"Bella, you look so beautiful!!!" Alice approached excitedly, gazing at the lovely, delicate fox, her two tails swaying gently behind her, her eyes sparkling.

The rest of the group wasn’t close enough to approach like Alice, but they all moved closer as well and watched with curiosity to see how the Guild President had changed after her evolution.

Upon seeing the speed she had reached just moments ago, many swallowed hard, trying to figure out how they would handle her if she were a monster, only to realize that with their current resources, they might not even be able to do anything about it!

And that was the truth; if they encountered a legendary creature in the forest, even if the creature was level 11 like them, the only thing awaiting them would be death, since the difference in power was far too great.

And with each evolution, that difference would only grow larger.

"Thank you, Alice," Lisa replied with a smile, also happy with her current appearance.

Even though she was still trapped in the body of a four-legged fox, just getting bigger and looking more powerful was enough to make her happy.

Lohan looked at that with doubt, wondering if when he evolved he would also undergo some aesthetic change like Lisa?

After all, he was a Slime... the only visual change among Slimes was usually their size...

’With my Devourer Class, maybe I’ll get some unique change?’ he wondered expectantly.

"Okay, everyone, let’s continue the hunt. After all, our Vice President also needs to go through his evolution today!" Lisa finally calmed Alice down and led the group back to work.

With her now at Level 11, the speed of hunting and exploration had increased significantly.

She didn’t even need a partner; on her own, Lisa was capable of attracting a large number of monsters and wearing them down with ease, allowing Lohan’s leveling speed to skyrocket.

’Yes! That’s exactly what I was talking about!’ He thought excitedly as he watched the experience points roll in nonstop.
