Chapter 494 - 14: Si Taizhen, Soaring Snake Bloodline (2)
Yang Jing looked up and saw a tall young man standing silently in the water. He was clad in green armor, his features as beautiful as a woman’s, and he cradled a long spear in his arms.
His eyes glinted coldly as he looked down upon the Demon Cultivators below.
A group of Great Demons, still bearing traces of their Snake Demon forms, were similarly clad in military armor. They stood in attendance, holding bows, Treasure Swords, green silks, golden rings, and other treasures. Behind them, banners unfurled, their Demon Qi coalescing into a cloud.
Furthermore, several hundred Snake Demons had formed a military array, sealing off the surrounding sea.
"Oh no, it’s Si Taizhen, that god of slaughter!"
The Demon Cultivators recognized the newcomer in an instant and were scared witless.
Even Sun Ruxiu, hiding in his Flying Boat, felt his heart leap into his throat.
Si Taizhen was the eleventh son of the Jade Poison Great Saint and was also known as Little Crown Prince Si. Rumor had it that the purity of his bloodline surpassed even that of the Jade Poison Great Saint himself.
Demons typically have long lifespans, but their cultivation is much slower than that of human Cultivators. Si Taizhen, however, had spent only eight hundred years to become a Golden Core Demon King. He had defeated all of his brothers, leaving him without an equal, and was thus deeply favored by the Jade Poison Great Saint.
He had been granted judicial authority over the Jade Poison Kingdom. Many Demon Cultivators who had wreaked havoc in the kingdom were easily captured by him, their heads put on public display.
Among them were even True Disciples of the Four Great Demon Sects.
Thanks to his established reputation, his name was exceedingly well-known among these Demon Cultivators—practically legendary.
Yang Jing looked up and saw Si Taizhen at the center of the group.
Since going to sea, he had encountered countless Demons along his journey. Most had mediocre bloodlines; few could even match Iron Head, fewer still could compare to Chi Yu, and absolutely none were on par with Yinjiao or Yellow Foot.
This Si Taizhen before him, however, possessed a Talent that was surpassed only by Yinjiao and Yellow Foot.

Yang Jing lowered his gaze, feigning difficulty standing upright in the turbulent water just like the other Demon Cultivators.
Si Taizhen’s gaze lingered on Yang Jing for an instant before shifting to the other Demon Cultivators.
"Capture them all!"
The Great Demons behind him drew their weapons from their waists, their stout snake tails instantly materializing. With a single flick, they shot downward like arrows.
The Demon Cultivators were already struggling against the churning sea, leaving them with almost no strength to resist the Snake Demons. They were captured with ease.
Seeing this, Sun Ruxiu cautiously leaned out from his Flying Boat and said:
"Little Crown Prince Si, we are not with these Demon Cultivators! Quite the opposite, in fact. We followed their trail here, intending to help Brother Si Bing capture these miscreants. We just didn’t expect you to arrive so quickly, Little Crown Prince Si. It left us no chance to make a move."
Despite his words, he was ready to pilot the Flying Boat and flee at a moment’s notice.
His junior brother, Xiong Shuangquan, had already secretly begun activating his Spiritual Artifact, ready to strike at any time.
Although there were two of them against the lone Si Taizhen, they didn’t have a shred of confidence.
After all, they were merely unremarkable Inner Sect Disciples of the Northern Demon Sect, whereas Si Taizhen had a battle record that included slaying True Disciples.
"Hmph. I’ve been tracking you for a while. You four destroyed twelve villages in my Jade Poison Kingdom and lured seven Great Demons to their deaths. My investigation was thorough. Do you really think you can talk your way out of this when you’re at death’s door?"
Si Taizhen barked.
Sun Ruxiu’s face turned ashen at Si Taizhen’s words. He never imagined his past deeds had already been uncovered.
The Flying Boat spun around and immediately shot through the water at high speed, attempting to break out of the Demon Array.
But the Demon Soldiers shouted in unison. Their Demon Qi surged and intertwined, coalescing into a single entity—a colossal, multicolored python. With one coil of its long body, it ensnared the Flying Boat.
Si Taizhen gripped his long spear, and its sharp tip instantly ignited with crimson Nanming Li Fire.
He became a streak of Tunneling Light, appearing before the Flying Boat in a single flash.
"Si Taizhen, we’re not to be trifled with! Do you really want to fight us to the death?!"
Sun Ruxiu roared.
"The fish will die, but the net might not break."
As Si Taizhen spoke, he thrust his spear.
The long spear in his hand struck like a rainbow piercing the sun. A beam of crimson light from the spear shot through the entire Flying Boat from bow to stern, disappearing into the depths of the sea.
Countless tons of seawater along its path were instantly boiled by the beam, leaving a trail of churning bubbles and a white scar in its wake.
The Defensive Spiritual Artifact Sun Ruxiu had activated was shattered by the blow. Horrified, he frantically activated the Magical Treasure he had painstakingly refined: the Light Condensing Mirror.
As for the other two Foundation Establishment Cultivators on the Flying Boat, they were merely grazed by the Nanming Li Fire, yet they burst into human torches, their screams echoing amidst the flames.
The Nanming Li Fire raged, inextinguishable even by the endless ocean.
"Junior Brother, keep him occupied! I’ll use the Magical Treasure to pin him down."
Sun Ruxiu gasped. He knew Si Taizhen was strong, but he had still underestimated the Demon King. He never imagined he would be *this* powerful.
’He’s clearly a Water Demon, yet he can command a top-tier Fire Element Divine Technique like the Nanming Li Fire.’
Xiong Shuangquan knew there was no hope of outrunning these native Water Demons in their own element. Gritting his teeth, he resolved to fight Si Taizhen to the death. He took out his own Magical Treasure—a vicious-looking Wolf Fang Club.
He transformed directly into his True Body, growing to a height of ten feet. His body was covered in Demon Scales, strange horns sprouted from his head, and his face was utterly ferocious. He was, surprisingly, a practitioner of Body Refining Techniques.
Si Taizhen hadn’t expected to encounter a rare Body Refining Cultivator either. His interest piqued, he raised his spear and met the charge head-on.
The size difference between the two was immense. Though Si Taizhen was considered tall, at just under seven feet, he only reached the waist of Xiong Shuangquan’s demonic form.
Yet the flow of the battle was the complete opposite of what their sizes suggested. The Big Spear in Si Taizhen’s hands struck with the weight of a mountain. After only a few exchanges, Xiong Shuangquan’s muscles were already giving out and his legs were trembling. His body was covered in bloody gashes from the spear’s tip.
"Senior Brother! Senior Brother!"
Xiong Shuangquan knew that if this continued, his head would be run through by Si Taizhen’s spear in ten exchanges at most. He desperately cried out to his Senior Brother for help.
Sweat poured down Sun Ruxiu’s face. He had already poured all his Magical Power into activating the Light Condensing Mirror, but Si Taizhen was deliberately using Xiong Shuangquan’s massive frame as a shield, giving Sun Ruxiu no clear shot.
Steeling his resolve, he aimed the Light Condensing Mirror directly at his junior brother, intending to immobilize both him and Si Taizhen at once.
The Light Condensing Mirror might have had a pleasant name, but it was a Demon Mirror through and through. Anyone caught in its light would have their Magical Power stagnate and decay. Even the Gang Qi of a Body Refining Cultivator was no exception. They would be frozen in place like an insect in amber, which was how the mirror got its name.
Being a Demon Cultivator, Xiong Shuangquan naturally didn’t fully trust the bond between martial brothers enough to leave his back exposed. However, the pressure from Si Taizhen was simply too immense. He had to use all his strength just to defend himself, leaving him no attention to spare for anything else.
The next moment, he was caught squarely in the demonic light of the Condensing Mirror. The light froze his Demonic Qi, and his body instantly became rigid.
Although the mirror’s beam should have also caught Si Taizhen, Sun Ruxiu didn’t dare stick around to find out. He turned and fled, tunneling through the sea and aiming for the sky.
"You Demon Cultivators truly are a selfish lot."
A voice that chilled him to the bone suddenly came from behind. Si Taizhen’s spear sent the Light Condensing Mirror protecting Sun Ruxiu’s body flying, then ran him through the heart. He immediately spun around and delivered a final thrust, killing Xiong Shuangquan as well.
In the blink of an eye, two Golden Core Demon Cultivators had been slain.
The captured Demon Cultivators turned deathly pale at the sight.
Si Taizhen caught the Light Condensing Mirror with one hand and turned to size up Yang Jing:
"You’re an unfamiliar face for a Snake Demon. What’s your name? From now on, you’ll serve under my command."
