Chapter 1446 - 1440: Yu Xiaohui
After finishing the conversation with Huang Liyong, Du Jinglan and Xu Ting were just about to leave when Lin Chuan walked in.
Upon seeing Du Jinglan and Xu Ting, Lin Chuan couldn't help but be taken aback, while Du Jinglan and Xu Ting had already exclaimed, "It's you."
Lin Chuan was stunned for a moment, then smiled and said, "It's me, what brings you here?"
Huang Liyong, standing by the side, said, "Lin Chuan, do you know them?"
The encounter between them was hard to explain, and Du Jinglan blushed, while Lin Chuan awkwardly smiled and said, "I know them. We just met a few days ago."
Huang Liyong just wanted to say something when his phone rang. After taking the call, he told Lin Chuan he had something to take care of, asking him to chat with Du Jinglan and Xu Ting.
After Huang Liyong left, Lin Chuan invited Du Jinglan and Xu Ting to sit down, looking at them and asked, "Aren't you students? Why are you doing this kind of thing?"
Du Jinglan hesitated without speaking, but Xu Ting quickly said, "We came to East Sea County to find Jinglan's aunt. Unexpectedly, her aunt got into trouble. We have to eat, don't we?"
Lin Chuan responded with an "oh" and casually asked, "What happened to your aunt?"
Xu Ting quickly mentioned the matter with Du Jinglan's aunt. The more Lin Chuan listened, the more it sounded like Du Yuwei's situation. He couldn't help but ask, "Are you talking about Du Yuwei?"
Du Jinglan and Xu Ting were immediately stunned and said in unison, "What, do you know her?"
From their expressions, Lin Chuan guessed immediately that Du Jinglan's aunt was indeed Du Yuwei. It was quite a coincidence; the world isn't as big as it seems.
Lin Chuan didn't tell Du Jinglan about his intention to help Du Yuwei, only saying that he had heard about her situation.
The conversation went on for over an hour, during which Xu Ting was quite concerned about Zhao Zhonghai, subtly inquiring about his situation several times.
Zhao Zhonghai had returned to Jiangbei City, and Lin Chuan gave Xu Ting Zhao Zhonghai's address.
After chatting for about one or two hours, Du Jinglan and Xu Ting took their leave. Lin Chuan checked the time; it was almost past three in the afternoon, and Huang Liyong had not yet returned.
Just as he was about to leave, his phone rang, and the caller ID was an unknown number.
He answered the call, and a crisp female voice came through the line, "Are you Lin Chuan, Huang Liyong's friend?"
Lin Chuan was taken aback and quickly replied, "Yes."
"Please come to the hospital right away; Huang Liyong has been injured." Before Lin Chuan could speak, the caller hung up.
Damn, Huang Liyong is hurt. What happened to him? Lin Chuan didn't dare to delay but didn't know which hospital Huang Liyong was in. After asking a waiter, he found out that East Sea County only had one decent hospital, which was the East Sea County People's Hospital.
When Lin Chuan arrived at the East Sea County People's Hospital, he didn't know which ward Huang Liyong was in. Fortunately, with the caller ID, he dialed the number from earlier.
The female voice answered again, "He's on the third floor in the surgical ward. Come to the medical office first."
Lin Chuan went to the medical office on the third floor of the inpatient department and pushed open the door. A nurse wearing a mask, whose face was obscured, sat behind a desk.
Lin Chuan identified himself, and the nurse removed her mask. Lin Chuan took a look and was surprised: Wow, the nurse did have a certain charm.
Through the nurse, Lin Chuan learned that for some unknown reason, Huang Liyong was seriously injured by someone and was brought here by the police.
As for the reason Huang Liyong was injured, even the police didn't know, because he was currently unconscious.
The police managed to find Lin Chuan due to the numbers saved on Huang Liyong's phone.
After gaining a basic understanding, Lin Chuan left the medical office and went to the ward to see Huang Liyong. According to the young nurse, Huang Liyong might remain unconscious for another two days before waking up.
How Huang Liyong got injured, this matter will only be known once he wakes up. Lin Chuan stayed in the hospital until evening, and seeing that there was nothing more to do, he returned to Huang Liyong's massage store.
The next morning, when he woke up, it was already past ten. Lin Chuan was worried about Huang Liyong, but coincidentally, his car wouldn't start for some reason, so he had to take the bus.
The bus was crowded, and next to Lin Chuan was an attractive woman wearing a sexy outfit, her long black hair flowing down her back. She wore a red t-shirt on top and tight jeans on the bottom, which hugged her curvy hips tightly, making her long legs appear even more slender and alluring!
Due to the crowd, Lin Chuan and the woman were both pushed into a corner of the bus. As the bus swayed continuously, Lin Chuan's body would inadvertently bump against the woman's, but what completely chilled Lin Chuan was that despite touching the woman's body, something on his end remained listless, without any reaction at all!
Seemingly sensing something off, the woman in front finally turned around, glaring angrily at Lin Chuan. But when she clearly saw Lin Chuan's face, she involuntarily gaped. The anger that was about to erupt gradually subsided as she exclaimed, "Huh, why is it you?"
Lin Chuan was also taken aback, the woman's voice sounding so familiar. He took a closer look at her face and instantly felt his own face heat up. Damn, wasn't she the little nurse from last night!
It seemed that the little nurse had forgotten about the incident of seeing Lin Chuan's lower half last night. Now, facing Lin Chuan, she didn't show the slightest bit of embarrassment. Unlike the cold indifference from yesterday, she actually seemed quite happy today!
After chatting with Lin Chuan for a while, the little nurse finally said goodbye, pushing her way toward the bus door as it was about to stop!
However, Lin Chuan could tell that this little nurse was actually quite likable, just a bit willful. But what surprised Lin Chuan was that upon seeing him, she didn't blush at all, as if the incident from yesterday hadn't happened!
As he watched Yu Xiaohui squeeze her way to the bus door, Lin Chuan suddenly noticed a sleazy-looking guy leering at her. The man was also pressing towards the bus door!
Before Lin Chuan could react, that sleazy man had already squeezed next to Yu Xiaohui and deliberately reached out, grabbing her firm behind. A faintly satisfied smile appeared on his thin, dark face!
"Ah! You pervert, what are you doing?"
A woman's exclamation immediately rang out in the bus, undoubtedly Yu Xiaohui's angry shout.
Instantly, everyone in the bus turned their attention towards Yu Xiaohui and that rascal!
Yu Xiaohui had often seen men engaging in inappropriate behavior in public places on TV, but she hadn't expected she would encounter such a thing today.
Yu Xiaohui was not the sort to swallow an insult silently. Seeing someone deliberately take advantage of her, she immediately shouted out, hoping the other passengers would come to her aid!
"Miss, what nonsense are you talking about? When did I ever behave indecently?" the sleazy man said dismissively, cursing Yu Xiaohui internally, thinking to himself that he often took advantage of girls on the bus, and nobody ever dared to scream; yet this sassy woman dared to shout out loud, embarrassing him in public. Wait until he got off, he'd teach her a lesson!
Yu Xiaohui had initially been worried that others wouldn't believe her, considering the crowded bus which made some contact inevitable. But now seeing the man defending himself, wasn't that the guilty conscience of a thief?
"What are you proving by defending yourself now? I just cursed at a pervert, and in a bus full of people, why are you the only one responding? Isn't that confessing without being pressed?" Yu Xiaohui sneered, although she felt uneasy inside, wondering how to handle this despite being in the right.
At this point, several passengers started berating the shady man, and some guys, finding Yu Xiaohui quite attractive, wanted to play heroes and proposed dragging the man to the police station!
For a moment, the bus was filled with people cursing the sleazy man. Seeing the bus arriving at a stop, those guys who wanted to stand up for Yu Xiaohui squeezed through the crowd, intending to pin down the sleazy man, lest he make a run for it once the bus stopped!
But right then, the sleazy man, driven to desperation, suddenly pulled a knife from his pocket, brandishing it shakily!
" Damn, don't push your luck. Everybody back off, or I'll kill whoever dares to come up!" The sleazy man snarled ferociously, like a mad dog cornered, glaring threateningly at anyone who dared approach!
The bus fell silent, people backing away to avoid being accidentally hurt by the sleazy man's blade. Those who had previously vowed to stick up for Yu Xiaohui now glared at him silently, not daring to take a step closer!
Since the sleazy man had drawn the knife in an instant, Yu Xiaohui, standing beside him, hadn't had time to react. The man quickly pulled Yu Xiaohui over, pressing the cold, glistening knife against her neck, using her as a hostage to threaten the others!
" Damn, you shameless bitch, I touched you out of appreciation, yet you screamed like that. Now, you've brought this upon yourself!" the sleazy man shouted, his face twitching as if he were ready to take everyone down with him!
Yu Xiaohui was terrified, but she maintained a calm exterior, knowing that showing fear would only embolden him further!
Everyone else dared not speak, understanding that this was now a matter of life and death. If they provoked this desperado with a single word, leading to harm to the hostage at hand, they would carry the blame!
