Chapter 1288 - 1283: The Deal
"Is there something you need?" Feng'er spoke with a calm tone, which sounded quite arrogant, but surprisingly, the big man wasn't angry. Instead, he respectfully said to Feng'er, "Our boss wants you to come along."
Feng'er raised his eyebrows twice; he didn't even know this person, yet they said their boss wanted to see him. Feng'er felt puzzled and asked with suspicion, "Who are you?"
"We are from the Sha Alliance," the big man replied patiently.
Upon hearing the term "Sha Alliance," Feng'er was a bit stunned. He hadn't heard of them before, and wondered why they were looking for him. However, since they had come to find him, it was probably related to Long Deng.
The reason Feng'er took a liking to Long Deng was mainly because this young man had a sense of righteousness, making him suitable for the Kunlun lineage.
Following the big man, Feng'er walked towards a bar. He thought to himself this bar was pretty good; both the decor and the location seemed quite nice.
"This is our largest bar in the Sha Alliance. The others are much smaller, not tiny, but not very big either," the big man explained to Feng'er, who was still puzzled. It didn't seem they wanted to cause him trouble; rather, they seemed to want his help with something, otherwise why be so polite?
Passing through the bustling world and entering the rooms at the back of the bar, Feng'er frowned. He didn't like places like this; they were dark, as if to be kept hidden. But since he was invited by these people, he had no choice but to stay.
"Here, this is the room, Mr. Feng'er, please enter!" The person stood outside, as if guarding the door for those inside.
Feng'er didn't hesitate and walked in boldly, but cautiously. As he entered, he scanned the room with his perception ability. Inside were only two people sitting there, posing no threat to him at all.
Before opening the door, Feng'er had an odd feeling, as though the person inside was someone he knew well. However, since he hadn't seen who was inside yet, he didn't dare make assumptions.
When Feng'er finally went inside and saw the person in front of him, he was truly stunned. Even though he had guessed he might know the person inside, he never imagined it would be him!
Since coming down from Kunlun Mountain, Feng'er knew only Lin Chuan, Zhang Wenhui, a few others, and Ye Ling; but he never dreamed the person in front of him would be Qin Zhengxiong.
Qin Zhengxiong looked at Feng'er, appearing slightly awkward, chuckled and said, "Young man, we meet again."
Feng'er couldn't help but frown and said coldly, "Why did you call me here?"
Facing Feng'er's cold attitude, Qin Zhengxiong didn't seem angry and still smiled, "Young man, today I called you here because I want to make a deal with you."
...
Lin Chuan was alone in the forest waiting for Murong Xue. He waited for quite a while but saw no trace of Murong Xue, feeling incredibly bored he started wandering around.
Following Lin Chuan's footsteps, the sound of running water came from not far away.
The innumerable trees around seemed like good places for Lin Chuan to hide himself. Whether tall, towering trees or low shrubs, they created a dense color in this area. Especially the mist surrounding it gave Lin Chuan's skin a suffocating sensation.
As he continued walking, Lin Chuan found himself facing a waterfall rushing down. From afar, it seemed like the surface was glowing, the gleaming white water seemed to carry a lot of warmth.
After being mesmerized for a while, several moments passed, and Lin Chuan's clothes were already pulled off. Instinctively, he dashed towards the water.
Many times Lin Chuan treated this place as a retreat. Only the night brought a scene unseen in the daytime.
The river water is slightly warmer than the outside temperature, but Lin Chuan didn't seem to mind. With the continuous flow of water around him, the mucus on Lin Chuan's skin gradually washed away.
Even now, Lin Chuan didn't forget to move his arms and touch his skin continuously, as if wanting to leave the remnants behind.
Eventually, Lin Chuan washed every part of his body several times, finally finishing. Afterwards, he grabbed the clothes he had taken off and dragged them in, continuously rubbing them in the water, as if washing clothes at night was quite enjoyable. After all, running around naked during the day easily attracted attention, but now that wasn't a concern.
After washing his clothes, Lin Chuan didn't forget to wring them out and hang them on a nearby branch, though drying clothes at night was almost impossible.
Relaxing, Lin Chuan dashed back into the water. After all, only here did the temperature seem more suitable.
After some activities, a lot of mucus emerged again from Lin Chuan's body. As these things appeared, Lin Chuan carefully used his martial arts techniques in the water.
Compared to being on shore, being in water felt distinctly different, even simple breathing seemed to bring in a lot of mist.
After several rounds of activity, Lin Chuan suddenly noticed a unique phenomenon: although not much mucus emerged after moving, they didn't feel as sticky, and after some activity, they had disappeared entirely. Furthermore, Lin Chuan's inner power was even stronger than it was at the start.
Feeling joyful, Lin Chuan suddenly pushed out with his palm in a direction underwater. Suddenly, a huge vortex appeared in front of him, with Lin Chuan's palm at the center, causing much of the water to dodge around it. Eventually, an area the size of a large jar appeared before Lin Chuan's palm, a downward spiral forming, which Lin Chuan had never expected.
As time passed, the cylindrical vortex in the water started shrinking. Lin Chuan clearly felt the tremendous pressure on his arm, but even so, he had no thought of withdrawing directly.
Suddenly, an enormous water ripple appeared beneath Lin Chuan's surface. This water ripple rapidly spread to the sides, eventually replacing the entire surface with countless splashes. At this moment, Lin Chuan clearly felt movement beneath him, especially movement towards the sides.
Lin Chuan hurriedly lowered his head and looked beneath. Something dark was swimming towards him swiftly, looking like a black line, rightfully terrifying him into dodging frantically.
While dodging, the underwater thing already darted past him. Eventually, this dark fellow leaped out of the water, heading straight towards the sky.
Without clearly seeing its form, Lin Chuan didn't strike immediately. Although seizing the initiative was advisable, rushing in without understanding the situation would definitely be a mistake.
At this moment, the thing lunging towards the sky started falling back towards the water.
Taking advantage of this moment, Lin Chuan managed to get a good look at the creature.
The creature's body was taller than Lin Chuan, but its mouth exceeded the size of Lin Chuan's head. If fully opened, it seemed like Lin Chuan could be swallowed whole. Especially the creature stared at Lin Chuan with countless malicious eyes.
Currently, Lin Chuan tried to recall what this creature could be, as though he had already been playing in this area for half the day without catching its attention, yet unexpectedly a casual palm had drawn it out. However, at this moment, Lin Chuan noticed the creature's tail showed a faint trace of blood, and its dark color contrasted with the water. It hadn't fully blended in yet.
With Lin Chuan getting a good look at the creature, it suddenly plunged back into the water.
Lin Chuan finally understood. Apparently, his casual palm had injured the underwater creature. Despite feeling pleased, Lin Chuan also worried, as how to deal with the creature now was a tricky affair. If he fled now, the earlier palm would seem pointless. Suddenly, Lin Chuan thought of a daring plan, and instinctively thrust his arm towards the dark creature below.
At this moment, the creature had just settled back in the water, establishing balance. But as it launched a furious attack, it felt the powerful force emanating from Lin Chuan's arm rushing towards it.
The dark thing wanted to charge straight ahead, seeming fully aware of the peril ahead.
Though Lin Chuan felt pressure, the dark creature hastily darted off in one direction to dodge. Despite this, Lin Chuan's palm still managed to jolt the creature's body.
The splashes appearing on the surface carried a faint scent of blood.
Through simple observation, Lin Chuan realized this creature was indeed some sort of fish, but precisely what type was unclear. More research was needed. If he could knock the creature unconscious and haul it home, it would definitely be a delight.
Lost in his whimsical thoughts, Lin Chuan immediately retracted his arm filled with Golden Wind. He intensified his gaze on the changes happening underwater.
At this moment, the waves on the surface gradually diminished, devoid of the initial tension and agitation.
