Chapter 1254 - 1251: Clash
After listening to Mu Qiu's words, Lin Chuan concentrated all his energy to search for any signs of superpowers around him. However, it was extremely difficult, as the area was filled with various energy signals, making it impossible to identify the one he was looking for.
Sweat had begun to form on Lin Chuan's forehead. Mu Qiu, seeing this, focused her own powers to assist Lin Chuan in searching. Suddenly, both of them opened their eyes, shouting together: "Found it!"
Because the location was rather far, Lin Chuan decided to take a taxi to get there. After a journey, Lin Chuan and Mu Qiu arrived at the place where they sensed the presence of a superpower user. It was amidst a forest, surrounded by trees. As they arrived, a swarm of crows and various birds frantically flew past, as if something dreadful was lurking in the woods.
Lin Chuan said tensely, "We need to be careful; there's something powerful in here."
What Lin Chuan said was not exaggerated, as he sensed a force stronger than Bu Guzi. Seeing Lin Chuan's anxious expression, Mu Qiu's heart tightened as well, pondering how Lin Chuan, with such formidable power, seemed so vigilant. Yet, she too felt something peculiarly unusual in the energy within; it was purely the power of a superpower user, devoid of any tangible True Qi or martial prowess.
As Lin Chuan and Mu Qiu were advancing slowly, a voice suddenly came from the depths of the forest, "You two have finally arrived; I thought you wouldn't come back, making me wait for so long."
Lin Chuan responded, "Who are you? Since you want to find us, we've come, why not show yourself quickly?"
As soon as the words fell, a blue shadow flashed a few times before appearing before Lin Chuan and Mu Qiu.
Standing before them was a person with long blue hair, blue robes, arms crossed over his chest, addressing them with disdain, "I didn't expect you two to be so weak, such a disappointment."
Seeing this blue-haired man arrogantly belittle his abilities, Lin Chuan was furious inside, but he didn't reveal it, calmly asking, "There should be someone else here? We came to find that person. What have you done to them?"
Lin Chuan said so while surveying the surroundings. Indeed, he was searching for the third person, yet strangely, upon their arrival, that person's energy vanished, making Lin Chuan uneasy; he feared that the person had been killed by the guy in front of them.
The blue-haired man chuckled and said, "Haha, you don't need to worry about that, I assure you."
Lin Chuan retorted, "Hmph, let me tell you, plenty like you have spoken to me in such a tone in the past, and in the end, they all vanished from this world. Soon, you'll meet the same fate."
The blue-haired man paused briefly before bursting into laughter, as if he'd never heard such an amusing joke before. He stood there laughing recklessly in front of Lin Chuan and Mu Qiu.
Mu Qiu whispered to Lin Chuan, "Be cautious of this guy, he's different from those before, not comparable to the powerful superpower user from last time."
Hearing Mu Qiu's words, Lin Chuan felt uneasy; indeed, he realized that this person's power was far beyond those he had faced before, yet he couldn't let fear take hold because this mission to rescue the third person was the real objective.
Lin Chuan said coldly, "Are you done laughing? Tell me what's happened to that person."
Lin Chuan's voice, icy cold, revealed his inner confidence, causing even the blue-haired man to be taken aback.
The blue-haired man slowly ceased laughing; his expression turned incredibly serious and cold, "Alright, I'll tell you, but only if you defeat me first."
Without waiting for Lin Chuan and Mu Qiu to react, the blue-haired man raised his right hand. A mysterious force emanated from his palm, sending Lin Chuan and Mu Qiu flying simultaneously.
Lin Chuan was astounded, not knowing what had happened; he only felt an inexplicable force strike his chest, hurling him away. Looking at the blue-haired man, he noticed a faint smile on his lips, sneering, "Apologies, I used too much force; didn't expect to send you that far."
With that said, he couldn't help but laugh aloud.
Seeing the man dismiss him entirely, Lin Chuan couldn't hide his anger any longer. He stood up, gritting his teeth, holding Blue Amber, and said viciously, "You really crossed the line; you'll pay for your arrogance."
However, Mu Qiu immediately told Lin Chuan, "You can't defeat him; he's a special type of superpower user able to control gases."
Lin Chuan was shocked upon hearing this, not expecting this person to be the legendary mutated superpower user, essentially a variant among superpower users.
The blue-haired man chuckled, "I didn't expect you to know so much, even this. Then it's easy, I'll send you on your way myself."
Lin Chuan's body emanated a red aura, and the Blue Amber in his hand turned red as well, as he stepped forward towards the blue-haired man. Seeing Lin Chuan's aura, the blue-haired man appeared slightly amazed but had no time to think. He raised his arms, causing the air around to spin thoroughly; tangible air swords shot toward Lin Chuan.
Gripping Blue Amber tightly, Lin Chuan cleaved through the air swords coming at him. Many swords of air were dispersed, yet due to their sheer numbers, a few slashed open his clothes, but even more were still coming.
Lin Chuan was startled by the speed and power of these air swords. He had to attack each one with his fullest strength; at this rate, he was certain he'd be slain by them.
Lin Chuan leaped back a few meters, temporarily distancing himself from the oncoming swords, then focused all his red True Qi to form a red shield.
Seeing Lin Chuan's red True Qi forming into a shield, the blue-haired man smirked, saying, "You're quite good, using this method to block my attacks, but with your current abilities, you can only withstand frontal assaults."
