Chapter 1252 - 1249: Superpower
Lin Chuan saw the big man had noticed him, so he decided to step forward and assess the opponent's strength. "I didn't expect you to be a strength-type superpower, and a pretty powerful one at that," Lin Chuan said as he walked over.
The burly big man laughed heartily, "Haha, I didn't expect you to understand superpowers so well. Could it be that you are a superpower too? That's perfect—a superpower like you could give me even more strength."
Lin Chuan was secretly startled upon hearing this. He didn't expect the strength-type superpower in front of him to have the same ability as him, where absorbing the blood of superpowers could enhance one's own power. Most likely, all his strength was gained from absorbing other superpowers. Lin Chuan approached the injured man and asked, "Are you alright?"
The injured man glanced at Lin Chuan and said, "Are you a superpower too? Then you should quickly escape. This guy here is strong and his power is formidable. I don't want you to risk your life for me."
Lin Chuan looked at the injured man with a slight smile and said, "Escape? That word has never been associated with me. Not only will I not run, but I will kill this powerful superpower and absorb his energy."
The injured man looked at Lin Chuan in surprise and said, "Could it be that you're also a superpower who enhances your strength by absorbing the blood of other superpowers?"
The burly big man listened to Lin Chuan's words and was initially taken aback, then burst out laughing, "Did I hear you right? You actually think you and that extremely weak superpower can kill me?" With that, the big man laughed unrestrainedly.
Lin Chuan said, "No, no, you heard wrong. I'm going to kill you myself and absorb your power."
The big man suddenly stopped laughing, glaring at Lin Chuan with vicious eyes, saying, "Alright then, bring it on." With that, he swung his basin-sized fist and charged at Lin Chuan. As a strength-type superpower, he was confident he could flatten Lin Chuan with a single punch.
The big man lunged at Lin Chuan, throwing a punch directly at Lin Chuan's head with his right hand.
Lin Chuan stood still, waiting for the big man's punch to come. Then, he opened his arms, intercepting the big man's punch with his hands. The big man was secretly pleased to see Lin Chuan catch his punch and continued charging forward. However, Lin Chuan pushed the big man's fist back, causing them to slide backward.
Until they reached the wall, the big man shouted, "Let's see where you can go now. Die!"
Upon realizing there was a wall behind him, Lin Chuan's lips curled into a slight smile. As his heels touched the wall, he leaned forward, sliding under the big man's legs to his rear.
The big man saw the person in front of him suddenly vanish, and without time to retract his punch, he struck the wall. With a loud bang, the wall was punctured. Lin Chuan seized the moment, flying upwards to kick the big man's head, sending him sprawling to the side.
Stunned by the sudden attack, the big man climbed up from the ground, furiously saying, "I didn't expect you to have some tricks, getting the best of me in the first round."
Lin Chuan stood there, smiling, and said, "Your power is indeed strong, but because it's solely strength-based, your reactions are sluggish. At the end of the day, you're just a brute."
The big man was infuriated upon hearing this, shaking his head and roaring as he charged at Lin Chuan again. This was precisely Lin Chuan's plan; the big man's strength far exceeded his own, and only by angering him could Lin Chuan have a chance.
The enraged big man was nearly out of control, frantically attacking Lin Chuan. Lin Chuan easily dodged the big man's attacks due to his agile physique, not once being touched even after the big man was exhausted.
The big man gasped for breath, shouting, "Ah! You've really angered me, I'll tear you in half!"
With that, he grabbed a large stone from the ground and hurled it at Lin Chuan. Seeing this, Lin Chuan took out Blue Amber, preparing to find an opening for a deadly strike against the big man.
The stone landed with a 'boom' at Lin Chuan's feet. Lin Chuan leaped up, and True Qi erupted from within. The big man, seeing his initial strike miss, turned to grab another stone to attack Lin Chuan. But Lin Chuan, recognizing the perfect opportunity, wouldn't let it slip by, injecting Blue Amber with True Qi and flying towards the big man with all his might.
Just as the big man picked up the stone, he saw a red light flying at him and instinctively tried to dodge. However, he was too slow, and Blue Amber, infused with red True Qi, pierced through his chest. With incredulous eyes, the big man slowly fell.
Lin Chuan walked over to the corpse, mocking, "It's strange, the person who was just yelling about tearing me in half is now lying on the ground."
He then picked up the Blue Amber with blood on it, letting a few drops of the big man's blood drip into his mouth. Lin Chuan murmured to himself in delight, "Not bad, truly powerful."
In an instant, the energy lost from battling the big man, coupled with the depletion from last night's fight, was fully restored, and Lin Chuan's powers grew even stronger.
The previously wounded man, witnessing Lin Chuan so easily kill the big man twice his size, was shocked beyond measure. To think this young man his age could be so formidable. He asked in amazement, "Who... who are you? Why are you so strong? What are you here for? Are you also here to absorb my energy like that guy?"
Lin Chuan was taken aback by the barrage of questions. He could see that the man's eyes now showed more fear than when he looked at the big man.
Lin Chuan could only sigh helplessly and say, "First, I must clarify that I'm not here to absorb your energy, and I'm not a bad guy. We might even be allies; I'm specifically here to find you." With that, Lin Chuan continued looking at the man as if expecting him to ask more questions.
The man stood silent for a while and then said, "Actually, I feel like I have a familiar sense about you, even though I don't really understand what you mean by allies right now. But, I trust that you're not a bad person."
Lin Chuan sighed with relief upon hearing this and asked, "What's your name then? Why is your superpower so weak?" Lin Chuan was genuinely curious; this superpower seemed even weaker than usual.
The injured man replied, "My name is Mu Qiu, I'm also a superpower. But my ability is just different from yours."
Lin Chuan asked curiously, "Different? That's right, I do sense a faint superpower aura from you, yet it's not simply a low-capability superpower's aura. What's going on here?"
