Chapter 1250 - 1247: Shiva's Disc
"Don't think I won't dare to kill you. Even my disciple dares to kill you. If I kill you, no one will say anything!" Bu Guzi said confidently.
Lin Chuan was startled; Bu Guzi truly had murderous intent toward him.
Lin Chuan was puzzled, wondering why sometimes his life was precious and other times worthless, controlled by anyone.
Despite his frustration, Lin Chuan did not stop his movements. The short blade of his Blue Amber couldn't handle the flying sword, so he transformed Blue Amber back into a broadsword. Only in this form did he feel grand. The distance between them was too far for a dagger to be a good choice.
This time, Lin Chuan noticed his synthesized broadsword was somewhat different from before, more solid, with a metallic sheen, though still dim. It was sturdier than before.
Elated, Lin Chuan swung his broadsword fiercely at Bu Guzi, channeling a gust of wind, all his spirit and True Qi. Even if it couldn't injure Bu Guzi, it could at least force him back.
That was Lin Chuan's thought, but the reality was different. He underestimated Bu Guzi and overestimated himself. The blade indeed blocked Bu Guzi but did not push him back. Still, Bu Guzi was surprised, as Lin Chuan shouldn't have been able to stop his advance.
"I didn't expect that in the end, I still underestimated you!" Bu Guzi said, forming a disc with his True Qi. The disc had milky-white edges, concealing violent power. It was especially prominent against the night sky.
"The Disc of Shiva! My unique move," Bu Guzi said, looking at it as if it were his child. Lin Chuan realized the difference between Duan Feng and this guy. After using a special move, Duan Feng looked like he was about to die, but Bu Guzi showed no signs of strain, as if he could use this move as much as he wanted.
Lin Chuan watched the disc cautiously, thinking he mustn't get hit; the energy inside was beyond his imagination.
Suddenly, Bu Guzi shouted, tossing the disc, which formed from True Qi, directly at Lin Chuan. Startled, Lin Chuan used all his strength to dodge. The disc hit the ground just as he did.
Although Lin Chuan evaded the direct hit, the ground impact still hurt him. Alarmed, Lin Chuan thought about the disc's speed and power, realizing if he hadn't dodged, he might have been dead.
Just as Lin Chuan steadied himself to try to escape, the disc that hit the ground made a small explosive noise and flew up again. But this time, Lin Chuan's heart sank, for the disc had split into two substantial True Qi discs.
Bu Guzi laughed loudly, "Haha, you're really something, managing to dodge Shiva's Disc's first strike. But can you dodge two discs?" He laughed wantonly.
Lin Chuan was in despair, thinking his end was near. Without much time to think, the two True Qi discs attacked him from different angles.
Lin Chuan had only one thought: no matter what, he had to fight back. If he could break Bu Guzi's move with all his might, he might find an opportunity to escape.
He grabbed Blue Amber with his right hand, channeling True Qi into it, and threw it at one of the discs, shouting, "Break for me!"
He then swiftly spun away to escape the range of the second disc's attack.
As he expected, Blue Amber successfully shattered the first disc. Lin Chuan had reasoned that since the disc could split, each resulting half would be weaker, so if he infused Blue Amber with enough True Qi, it could destroy half a disc.
When Blue Amber collided with the disc, there was a 'bang', and Blue Amber rebounded, landing not far away. The crashed disc vanished. Lin Chuan jumped to retrieve Blue Amber as the second disc adjusted for another attack. He again infused True Qi into Blue Amber and hurled it at the second disc.
To overthrow Bu Guzi's move, Lin Chuan exhausted much of his True Qi, now hoping this strike would destroy the second disc.
Infused with True Qi, Blue Amber clashed again, glowing red, against the white-glowing disc, this time with more intensity. The disc exploded with milky-white light, and Blue Amber lost its red glow, knocked far away.
Bu Guzi was shocked, unexpectedly seeing his move broken by Lin Chuan.
Lin Chuan stood, panting heavily. He had spent too much True Qi to break Bu Guzi's move. If he continued fighting, he was doomed, so his only thought now was to escape.
Without delay, Lin Chuan turned to flee. Bu Guzi, shocked by Lin Chuan's power, saw him running.
Bu Guzi thought Lin Chuan, who could break his move, must be killed now, or he would become a major threat. Just as he was about to chase, he noticed another figure nearby.
Bu Guzi called out, "What are you here for?"
The figure approached, shrouded in a black cloak, concealing their gender and face, giving off no human presence.
The cloaked figure said, "The sect has ordered all members to stop everything and return to the base on standby."
Bu Guzi was furious, "What did you say? That kid has escaped! If we don't catch him now, he'll be even harder to find later." He started toward Lin Chuan's escape path.
The cloaked figure spoke again, "Do you intend to disobey the sect's orders? Then go kill him. I won't stop you, but you know how the sect will deal with you."
Bu Guzi paused, almost defying the sect in his anger. Considering the sect's punishment, he trembled and said, "Fine, I'll go back with you."
He and the cloaked figure disappeared into the night...
Meanwhile, Lin Chuan, still puzzled, kept looking back, wondering why Bu Guzi hadn't chased him. With his ability, Bu Guzi could have already caught up with him. Lin Chuan wasn't naive to think Bu Guzi was afraid of him.
Reflecting on his fight with Bu Guzi, Lin Chuan noticed Duan Feng and those people had already vanished. Those two guys fled fast. Fortunately, Duan Feng might not be an enemy anymore, though they weren't friends either.
Lin Chuan wondered what kind of situation or stance he and Duan Feng would have next time they met.
He didn't know how far he'd run, but there was no sign of Bu Guzi catching up, so he decided to rest, utterly exhausted from the battle.
As Lin Chuan rested, he suddenly sensed an energy fluctuation, thinking an esper might be nearby. If they were a friend, good, but if not, he was too drained to defend himself now.
While pondering, he felt the esper's presence intensifying, standing up, he said cautiously, "Since you're here, show yourself. What kind of a hero hides?"
Silence was the only response, but Lin Chuan sensed the esper was close, likely with rare invisibility abilities.
Lin Chuan guardedly scanned the area, quietly gathering True Qi for potential emergencies.
"Sigh..." A soft sigh came from the surroundings.
Lin Chuan tensed up, "Who are you? What are your intentions?"
The weak voice repeated, "You are Lin Chuan, correct?"
Lin Chuan thought that since they knew his name and hadn't attacked, they were likely not an enemy. An invisible esper could have easily killed him otherwise. Yet cautiously he replied, "Yes, may I ask who you are?"
The voice said again softly, "You don't need to know who I am now; what's important is why I'm here to find you."
"What do you want from me?" Lin Chuan asked.
The voice hesitated, then continued, "What I'm about to tell you, don't question why, just follow my instructions, but only if you truly want to destroy the Ghost Sect."
