Chapter 1248 - 1245: True Power
Lin Chuan stepped back, for he felt an overwhelming pressure emanating from the person before him, causing a fear to arise from deep within his heart. Could it be that this person had already reached such a level!
Seeing Lin Chuan's astonishment, the person smiled with satisfaction.
"You've caused so much trouble here this time; do you really think we'd let you go?" the person said with a crafty smile.
"Not good!" Lin Chuan suddenly felt that the air around him was slowly gathering. It wasn't a natural phenomenon, which meant it was the superpower of one of these people.
"Give up resisting. I'm only using half my strength now, and you already can't fight back. If I use my full power, you'd probably be crushed by the air!" the person said to Lin Chuan.
"If you want me to stop resisting, there's only one way—let me die!" Lin Chuan shouted angrily, kicking up some dust from the ground. The dust hovered in the air; because the air's density had increased, the dust couldn't fall back down. Around Lin Chuan, there was only a hazy gray, completely obscuring the situation inside.
The person, however, remained unconcerned, believing solely in his own power—before absolute strength, all techniques are in vain.
There was a pang in his heart, sensing that something seemed off. His binding seemed to be breaking away under a boundless force. It was undoubtedly Lin Chuan's power, but simultaneously, he doubted how Lin Chuan could possess such strength to break free from his restraint!
There are many secrets in this world, like a person's willpower. If strong enough, it's not just breaking a little; breaking free entirely isn't impossible!
Lin Chuan's face turned red, gasping heavily. He had to exert all his strength to stop the air that was slowly compressing towards him.
An air ball, though transparent, barely visible in its outline, wasn't a simple air ball; it weighed dozens of times more than steel. The reason it was visible was that even the surrounding mist had been drawn into it. The intense compression of air created a temporary vacuum, causing the surrounding air to flow rapidly towards it, generating wind!
Though Lin Chuan couldn't see what was happening outside, he felt his fear. Believing that if this attack hit him, he would undoubtedly die.
Lin Chuan desperately tried to calm himself, but his current state couldn't allow him to decide anymore. He could only create a small space within the surrounding restraint but believed it was beyond his ability to break free. Yet, facing such a powerful attack, the result for anyone would be the same—certain death!
The mere sound of air movement whistled, each sound deepening Lin Chuan's anxiety, even more so as the sounds continued. The severe compression of air and the roar made sweat pour from his forehead.
Zhang Wenhui had already moved away from the person, knowing staying would only impede Lin Chuan's attack.
The person's hands trembled slightly. Observing closely, the ground around him had sunk nearly thirty centimeters, mainly due to the energy ball in his hands being too heavy!
"Heh, letting you die under this move is giving you face!" the person grinned, looking terrifying like a devil, especially with blood trickling down the corner of his mouth!
"What do I do!" Lin Chuan's heart burned like fire, but he couldn't break free from the restraint.
Lin Chuan felt the restraint on him seemed to lighten a bit. Upon closer inspection, it wasn't an illusion. The person had focused all his effort on the air-formed ball above, having no time to continue controlling the air around Lin Chuan.
Though the control over himself weakened, Lin Chuan still couldn't break free. If he attempted to escape, it would require a great effort.
"Lin Chuan, I won't deal with you yet. Let you experience what kind of pain that is!" The person smiled cruelly, not going all out. His usual method was first to crush one's spirit to defeat them without hindrance. Only when Lin Chuan was completely broken could his plan proceed smoothly!
Lin Chuan noticed the person's air-gathering speed slowing, indicating that this move was about to succeed.
Layers of air, like water, continuously entwined Lin Chuan. The immense resistance often left him stepping into the void, unable to deploy force, while the person slowly ascended into the air without any aid.
"This is? True power!" the person looked at himself in surprise. Though his hands remained heavy, he stood suspended, never feeling so fulfilled, seemingly the world's ruler.
The air ball in the person's hand wasn't as it appeared before, but had turned white.
"How is it, isn't it terrifying?" the person said to Lin Chuan, watching him as if trying to strike him mentally. He needed little effort to control the huge ball; its inherent fury had transcended gravitational constraints, making it effortlessly agile.
"Things aren't that simple; what comes next is the true heartbreak!" The person's smile was insidious, eyes fixed on the nearby three members of Lie Hu.
"Lin Chuan, did you hear that?" Zhang Wenhui shouted, drawing Lin Chuan's attention.
"What do you want to say?" Lin Chuan asked Zhang Wenhui with confusion, this moment akin to a parting between life and death. Though not certain doom, no one could find a way out.
Zhang Wenhui laughed heartily, "Lin Chuan, you need to think of something yourself. Don't let this guy underestimate you."
"Screw you, go to hell!" Lin Chuan closed his eyes as if making some cruel decision. He turned toward another direction; that guy had no idea what he was talking about.
"Lin Chuan, let me show you my real techniques now," the person said.
As he sliced downward with his palm, the big ball lost control and suddenly moved toward Zhang Wenhui.
Zhang Wenhui yelled, quickly flipping away, furiously saying, "You bastard, you're supposed to be dealing with that kid, why suddenly ambush me."
The person remained silent, waving his hands, causing the surrounding air to surge toward Lin Chuan.
Lin Chuan's ears heard the sound of ripping, the air tearing apart, time seeming to stand still, even the noise slowing. The only thing rapidly moving was Lin Chuan's heart.
The person strained to control the air around Lin Chuan, putting all his power together, yet couldn't stop Lin Chuan. That recent strike, particularly the moment of the attack, had drained all his power, now unable to control anything, even his airborne body was about to fall.
The restraints on Lin Chuan disappeared, increasing his speed by several times, now astonishingly fast, nearly rivaling sound.
Within the light ball, the pressure around Lin Chuan suddenly deprived him of breath, movement, even thought.
Inside the white sphere, Lin Chuan saw endless darkness, not a sliver of light. "Where is this?" Lin Chuan asked in confusion. Though speechless, his voice seemed to echo within this space.
Devoid of any sensation, the pain of cold and heat was far removed, while the sweetness and happiness were nostalgia-inducing. This was a special space, sealing the strongest power—it wasn't to be underestimated.
"Do you wish to survive?" A voice suddenly came to Lin Chuan's ears, as if calling from beside or afar.
Lin Chuan answered without hesitation, "Yes!"
"I possess the strongest power. Do you wish to have it?" The voice seemed to slowly lure Lin Chuan step by step, to which Lin Chuan willingly accepted, saying, "I want it!"
"You're the first to accept my power! But I can only give you the power to resolve your crisis. I sense that you aren't quite yourself; this bit of power should be enough to escape the current predicament, but you'll need your efforts to continue surviving!" A giant eye suddenly appeared before Lin Chuan. Apart from the eye, he saw nothing else.
Just the gaze made Lin Chuan feel a sense of death, never having been so close to death—even when severely wounded before, he hadn't been so close to death as in that instant.
At that moment, Lin Chuan's body emitted a rainbow-like glow, dazzling and beautiful.
This light flared from Lin Chuan's body, causing significant turbulence within the light ball. The chaotic power couldn't maintain the sphere; before hitting the ground, it exploded mid-air several meters above.
