Chapter 1155 - 1152: Phantom Soul
Although Qin Zhenghe didn't continue speaking, Lin Chuan understood and said, "Uncle, don't worry. I promise, no matter what happens, I won't hurt him."
"Thank you, Lin Chuan." Qin Zhenghe expressed his gratitude to Lin Chuan.
Lin Chuan replied with a smile, "Uncle, you've helped me so much already. There's no need to thank me for this."
Qin Zhenghe said, "Lin Chuan, I may not know where your abducted friends are, but I can tell you a place. Go find this person, he will surely know."
Lin Chuan said, "Uncle, please tell me."
Qin Zhenghe said, "His name is Qin Fang. He lives in Jiangbei City and runs a store called Baosheng Department Store. It's located on Zhengyang Street."
Lin Chuan frowned and asked, "Is he also a disciple of Maoshan Tao?"
Qin Zhenghe said, "Yes, although he is part of Maoshan Tao, he doesn't agree with their methods. When you go to him, tell him I sent you. He will definitely help."
"Uncle, thank you so much." Lin Chuan held Qin Zhenghe's hand, feeling unsure what more to say, so he simply expressed his gratitude again.
Qin Zhenghe turned and went inside the house. A few minutes later, he came out holding a book and a short black stick, and handed them to Lin Chuan, saying, "Lin Chuan, this is the Dragon Wood and the 'Five Elements Yin Yang Transformation Theory.'
Lin Chuan took them and, worried about Zhou Kai and the others' safety, bid farewell to Qin Zhenghe and returned to Jiangbei City with Zhang Wenhui.
This trip to Xianan Village was quite fruitful for Lin Chuan. Not only did he obtain the Demon Exorcism Spell to subdue the puppets, he also got the Dragon Wood to deal with blood puppets. More importantly, the book given by Qin Zhenghe will prove very helpful in the future.
Back in Jiangbei City, Lin Chuan and Zhang Wenhui headed straight to Zhengyang Street and found the small department store mentioned by Qin Zhenghe.
Upon entering, they saw a young girl in her twenties, her long black hair tied in a playful braid, looking extremely cute.
"Is Qin Fang here?" Lin Chuan asked the girl after stepping inside.
The girl looked at Lin Chuan and Zhang Wenhui, blinking, and asked, "Who are you, and why are you looking for her?"
Lin Chuan replied, "I'm Lin Chuan, and this is Zhang Wenhui. We were referred by Old Master Qin Zhenghe."
Upon hearing the name Qin Zhenghe, the girl's expression froze for a moment and she asked, "Why did he send you to find Qin Fang?"
Lin Chuan thought to himself, "You little girl, you're not Qin Fang, why do you ask so many questions?"
Although he thought this, Lin Chuan's face showed slight displeasure as he said, "Is Qin Fang here or not?"
The girl's eyes flashed with a hint of anger as she said, "Do you have a problem with your head? I've asked you several times, and you still haven't answered me."
As soon as the girl said this, Lin Chuan and Zhang Wenhui were stunned. It turned out Qin Fang was the girl in front of them; they never imagined Qin Fang would be a girl.
"Sorry, I didn't realize you were Qin Fang. Please forgive my rudeness." Lin Chuan apologized to Qin Fang.
Qin Fang, with an expressionless face, ignored Lin Chuan.
Beside him, Zhang Wenhui quickly said, "Comrade Qin Fang, we didn't mean to offend you, please don't mind us."
Hearing Zhang Wenhui's words, Qin Fang's expression softened slightly and she said, "Tell me what's going on."
Lin Chuan said, "Old Master Qin asked us to find you because we need your help to find my friends."
Seeing Qin Fang's puzzled expression, Lin Chuan quickly added, "It's like this, some of my friends were captured by Maoshan Tao, and Old Master Qin said only you can help me find them."
Qin Fang frowned slightly and asked, "How did your friends offend them?"
Qin Zhenghe had already told Lin Chuan to explain everything to Qin Fang once he met her. Thus, Lin Chuan recounted his entire grievances with Maoshan Tao to Qin Fang without leaving out a single word.
After listening, Qin Fang pondered for several minutes before saying, "Since my mentor introduced you, I will help you."
It turned out Qin Zhenghe was Qin Fang's mentor; Lin Chuan and Zhang Wenhui absolutely did not expect this.
Qin Fang continued, "In Maoshan Tao, there is a tracking technique that can identify an exact location using items belonging to the abducted people. Just bring items belonging to those friends of yours who were captured."
Lin Chuan quickly called Xiao Feng, asking her to bring some of the items Huang Bo had used. Xiao Feng received Lin Chuan's call, hurriedly gathered some of Huang Bo's used items, and rushed over.
Qin Fang held Huang Bo's used items, closed his eyes slightly, muttered a few words, and then suddenly opened his eyes and said, "You must drive me to Double Dragons Mountain immediately."
Lin Chuan responded with a nod, got into the car with Qin Fang. Zhang Wenhui wanted to go as well, but Lin Chuan didn't let him. Xiao Feng was very worried about Huang Bo and insisted on going, but Lin Chuan comforted her, saying he would definitely bring Huang Bo back safely.
Xiao Feng thought it over and realized she'd be a burden if she went, so she stayed behind.
Double Dragons Mountain was nearly two to three hours away by car. Lin Chuan increased the speed, reaching the destination in less than two hours.
Upon arriving in a town near Double Dragons Mountain, Qin Fang instructed Lin Chuan to stop the car. He took Huang Bo's used items and muttered again for a moment before opening his eyes and saying, "Your friend is hidden in the wilderness on the west side of the town."
Lin Chuan drove towards the west side of the town. The west side was desolate farmland, where Qin Fang and Lin Chuan found two dilapidated small houses in a hidden spot.
Outside the rundown small houses stood four or five people.
The two stopped roughly fifty meters from the houses at a dirt slope. Qin Fang said to Lin Chuan, "Those few are Maoshan Tao disciples, their cultivation is exceptional. Are you confident in handling them?"
Lin Chuan smiled slightly and replied, "Don't worry, leave these people to me." With that, his body flashed, disappearing swiftly towards the houses like a phantom.
Qin Fang watched in shock; she hadn't expected Lin Chuan to be so fast, almost like a ghostly apparition.
In an instant, Lin Chuan was ten meters from the houses, the Maoshan Tao disciples hadn't even reacted when Lin Chuan leaped into the air and landed beside them.
Upon reaching them, Lin Chuan turned his palms into fists and swiftly charged at the one nearest to him, striking him on the back.
He didn't even glance at the guy, twisted his body, and delivered a fierce punch to another guy's neck.
In the blink of an eye, Lin Chuan dispatched two of the Maoshan Tao disciples, leaving others bewildered, only seeing a blur before inexplicably collapsing.
From afar, Qin Fang watched, stunned by Lin Chuan's lightning-fast attack speed. If she was shocked by his speed before, now she was filled with fear.
This attack speed was extraordinarily fast, beyond what ordinary humans could achieve.
Lin Chuan was not much older than herself; how did he train to such a level, surpassing Master Qin Zhenghe by far. Qin Fang couldn't comprehend it and found it astonishing.
In an instant, Lin Chuan dealt with the Maoshan Tao disciples, turned swiftly, dashed to the house door, lifted his right foot, and kicked open the door.
The room was dimly lit, but that wasn't a problem for Lin Chuan. He saw four people on the ground, tied with ropes, two men and two women—Huang Bo, Zhou Kai, Zhou Rui, and Ma Yilin.
All four were bound with ropes, eyes covered with black cloth, and mouths stuffed with cloth.
Lin Chuan walked towards them, just about to step inside when he suddenly sensed an impending danger.
Though sensing danger, Lin Chuan resolutely stepped inside; he couldn't leave them there without rescuing them.
Upon stepping inside, Lin Chuan felt a chilling aura envelop his body.
"Lin Chuan, get out, there's a phantom soul inside." Qin Fang, having seen Lin Chuan deal with the Maoshan Tao disciples, ran up from behind the dirt slope, shouting loudly.
The method to dispel phantom souls hadn't been taught by Qin Zhenghe to Lin Chuan, and he seemed surrounded by a chilling aura, his mind starting to blur.
Suddenly, a vivid shadow flashed before Lin Chuan's eyes, gradually becoming clearer—it was his mother.
"Mom." Lin Chuan called softly to the shadow.
The shadow bore a kindly smile, approaching Lin Chuan, but as it reached him, the smile vanished, replaced by an intense coldness, growing heavier, seemingly piercing into Lin Chuan's heart.
Lin Chuan's mother had died tragically; the cold face mirrored her suffering at death. Lin Chuan had seen his mother's face after her death, his heart wrenched at the sight, painfully calling out, "Mom."
Outside, Qin Fang hadn't entered the room, only seeing Lin Chuan's anguished expression, his eyes appearing vacant, constantly calling out "Mom."
It was an illusion cast by the phantom soul, and Qin Fang didn't know how to break it, anxiously waiting outside, not daring to enter.
