Chapter 1116 - 1113: Unknown Creature
Arriving at the Kunhai Hotel, Lin Chuan went straight to the door of room 2023, just about to knock when someone suddenly emerged from the room next door. Seeing Lin Chuan, they shouted joyfully before throwing themselves into Lin Chuan's arms.
This person was none other than Blue Fox, whom he hadn't seen in a long time.
"Lin Chuan," Blue Fox exclaimed excitedly, rushing towards Lin Chuan.
Blue Fox's personality was quite different from Silver Fox's; she never concealed her emotions.
Lin Chuan had a substantial relationship with Blue Fox, but it was a normal need between a man and a woman, not an indifferent emotion.
Silver Fox, hearing Blue Fox calling Lin Chuan, could not resist coming out of the room, coincidentally seeing Blue Fox in Lin Chuan's arms.
Seeing Silver Fox, Lin Chuan hurriedly pushed Blue Fox away, smiling awkwardly at Silver Fox.
Blue Fox also noticed at this moment, her face blushing. She looked down embarrassedly.
Silver Fox was neither angry nor jealous about Blue Fox's actions and invited Lin Chuan into the room.
Blue Fox wanted to come in too, but felt it inappropriate, so she silently returned to her room.
Sitting down, Lin Chuan told Silver Fox about his attack, including Red Butterfly agreeing to hand over Manler.
Silver Fox was quite surprised to hear this, but since it was a matter between Lin Chuan and the Red Butterfly Organization, she did not comment.
Lin Chuan sought out Silver Fox not only to tell her about this but also to ask her help with another issue: Gu Qing, who must not escape easily this time, or Mu Bai's revenge would be indefinitely postponed.
"I have something I hope your Fire Fox Organization can assist me with," Lin Chuan said.
Silver Fox replied, "Lin Chuan, you saved my life, so as long as you command, the entire Fire Fox Organization will obey you."
Lin Chuan gratefully said, "Thank you, Silver Fox. This time, I want you to help me keep an eye on someone named Gu Qing. I'll send you the specific data via email later."
Silver Fox responded, gazing at Lin Chuan affectionately, "Don't worry, he won't escape."
Silver Fox's feelings towards Lin Chuan were not less than those of Tang Yumeng and Song Xiaojia; naturally, the two began expressing their affections in the room.
...
At the old General's residence.
Li Xiangguo, Deputy Director of the National Security Department, hurried in.
"Old Chief, strange things have been happening recently at the mouth of Kunlun Mountain in Qinghai," Li Xiangguo said seriously as he walked in.
The old General was drinking tea and looked at Li Xiangguo, asking, "What's happened?"
Li Xiangguo said, "Seven soldiers stationed at an outpost on the border of Kunlun Mountain mouth disappeared inexplicably two days ago. The border forces dispatched numerous personnel to search within a hundred miles but found no clues. Additionally, many villagers near Kunlun Mountain mouth have vanished without cause."
The old General frowned, asking, "So many people missing, yet not a single clue?"
Li Xiangguo shook his head, saying, "No, but we found this in the outpost." As he spoke, he handed the old General a paper bag.
Opening the bag, the old General found a sealed small plastic bag inside and saw a mass of sticky liquid.
Before the old General could speak, Li Xiangguo said, "Technical analysis of this viscous liquid reveals it was left by an unidentified organism."
The old General didn't speak, his eyes fixed on the plastic bag's viscous liquid.
After a long while, the old General's expression changed, and he said to Li Xiangguo, "Immediately call Lin Chuan, tell him to hurry back to the country."
Seeing the old General's demeanor, Li Xiangguo sensed the situation was quite serious and curiously asked, "Old General, do you know what's happening?"
The old General replied gravely, "It's too complex to explain now. Notify Lin Chuan, then instruct the forces near Kunlun Mountain mouth to completely lock down the outpost's surrounding hundred miles, and swiftly evacuate nearby villagers. Keep this highly confidential; do not leak the information."
Li Xiangguo acknowledged and left hurriedly.
After Li Xiangguo left, the old General paused for a moment, then picked up the phone to make a call.
In Thailand, Lin Chuan was awaiting news from Red Butterfly. After getting up with Helen in the morning, while waiting in the room, he heard a knock on the door. Opening it, he saw a service attendant.
The attendant smiled at Lin Chuan, saying, "Mr. Lin, someone asked me to give you a note." Handing Lin Chuan the note.
After saying thank you, Lin Chuan opened it, finding a line of words: Nine o'clock at Bangkok's Royal Palace Square.
This was evidently news from Red Butterfly. Lin Chuan checked his watch; it was already 8:40 AM, so he quickly called Helen out of the hotel, hailed a taxi, and headed straight for the Royal Palace Square.
Arriving at the Royal Palace Square, it was two minutes before nine o'clock. Lin Chuan and Helen stood in the center of the square, looking around.
"Lin Chuan, look, isn't that Princess Manler?" Helen exclaimed to Lin Chuan.
Following Helen's direction, they saw three women walking towards them. Two of the women flanked Princess Manler, edging closer.
Lin Chuan recognized the two women; one exuded a fierce aura, and the other was Sally.
As they reached them, Lin Chuan scrutinized Princess Manler. Her gaze was vacant, her face expressionless.
"Lin Chuan, we've brought her here. I hope you'll keep your word," the woman with the fierce aura said coldly, looking at Lin Chuan.
Lin Chuan glanced at Helen, signaling for her to confirm. Helen also stared at Princess Manler, nodding slightly at Lin Chuan.
Having confirmed it was indeed Princess Manler, Lin Chuan replied, "Alright, I won't go back on my promise."
Sally handed Princess Manler to Lin Chuan and Helen without uttering a word, then turned to disappear into the plaza with the other woman.
"Princess Manler, do you still recognize me?" Helen asked as she took hold of the princess's right arm.
Princess Manler, with a vacant expression, suddenly looked at Helen and smiled.
"Lin Chuan, what's wrong with the princess?" Helen noticed something amiss with Princess Manler and turned to Lin Chuan, asking.
Lin Chuan couldn't find an answer; too many mysteries lay within. Why had the Red Butterfly organization kidnapped Princess Manler, and for two years without making any demands?
What had Princess Manler gone through over these two years to become so vacant?
A series of questions swirled in Lin Chuan's mind, but he had promised the Red Butterfly organization not to interfere, leaving these mysteries to be unraveled by agents of the Sixth Bureau.
"This isn't the place to talk; let's escort Princess Manler to the hotel first," Lin Chuan said.
Helen nodded, and alongside Lin Chuan, escorted Princess Manler back to the hotel.
As soon as they entered the room and before they could sit down, Lin Chuan's phone rang.
"Lin Chuan, return to the country immediately," Li Xiangguo's voice came through as soon as the call connected.
Li Xiangguo's voice sounded heavy, evidently signaling that something had happened. Lin Chuan quickly asked, "What's going on?"
"This is too complicated to explain briefly. Return as soon as possible; the chief wants to see you," Li Xiangguo replied.
"Alright, I'll make arrangements and return at once," Lin Chuan said and hung up.
After hanging up, Lin Chuan turned to Helen, saying, "Helen, I have urgent matters and must return now. Princess Manler is in your charge; please pack up quickly and take the fastest flight to bring her back."
Helen responded with a surprised "Ah," a hint of grievance in her eyes, and said, "Lin Chuan, will we meet again after this departure?"
Lin Chuan didn't know the answer to this question, but he comforted her, saying, "We will, surely meet again."
Helen seemed aware that Lin Chuan's words were merely comforting. Biting her lip slightly, she said, "Lin Chuan, I, Helen, will always be your woman. No matter how things end, I will wait for you."
Unable to resist, Lin Chuan held Helen's hand, saying emotionally, "Helen, no matter where I am, I won't forget there's a woman waiting for me in London."
Helen softly called Lin Chuan's name and fell into his embrace.
Princess Manler, with a vacant expression, suddenly giggled and said to them, "Shame, shame, shame."
After tidying up everything, Lin Chuan called Silver Fox, informing her of his return. He couldn't deal with Gu Qing's affairs and hoped Silver Fox would help eliminate Gu Qing to avenge Mu Bai.
Though Silver Fox was reluctant to part with Lin Chuan after reuniting, she knew he had important matters, so they didn't meet.
Sometimes, parting is to pave the way for the next meeting.
As for Fang Yuan, Lin Chuan did not inform her. He escorted Princess Manler to the airport, booked the fastest flight back to London, and watched Helen and Princess Manler board the plane. He then embarked on his journey back to the country.
He arrived at Beijing Airport around eight in the evening, where Li Xiangguo had already sent someone with a car waiting.
Once in the car, the driver headed directly to General Chen Zhenguo's residence.
After about half an hour, they arrived at the entrance of the general's home, and Lin Chuan got out and walked in immediately.
In the living room, the general wore a solemn expression, and Li Xiangguo sat there, his demeanor also heavy.
"General, Minister Li, what happened that you needed me here so urgently?" Lin Chuan asked the general and Li Xiangguo.
The general pondered briefly and said, "Lin Chuan, take a seat first, and let Xiangguo explain the situation to you."
Lin Chuan sat down, looked at Li Xiangguo, awaiting an explanation of what had happened.
