Chapter 1035 - 1032: Lin Chuan's Promise
Walking through that door, the inside revealed itself to be quite extraordinary.
The space within was vast, equipped with numerous state-of-the-art computers, and several staff members were working in front of them. In the central position hung a large electronic screen.
"How do you feel?" Helen, who hadn't spoken before, suddenly asked Lin Chuan.
Lin Chuan smiled slightly and said, "Not bad, equipped with the world's most advanced location tracking, and data analysis capable of performing a trillion computations per second. It seems you have invested heavily here."
"Lin Chuan, remember your identity now is as a British spy, none of this 'your' or 'our' business." Helen glared at Lin Chuan disapprovingly.
Lin Chuan was taken aback, having forgotten that detail, and chuckled, "You didn't bring me here just to show me this, did you?"
Helen's eyes expressed approval as she said, "Actually, aside from searching for Princess Manler, we have another mission - to find the missing British agent Lau'er in Washington, United States."
Uh, Lin Chuan was stunned. He hadn't heard a thing about this and suddenly felt a sense of being duped, anger surfacing on his face.
Helen seemed to perceive Lin Chuan's anger and smiled gently, saying, "Lin Chuan, we didn't tell you this in London because it's a significant matter, and I hope you don't mind."
Of course, Lin Chuan minded and said, "Miss Helen, no matter what, my responsibility is solely to find Princess Manler, and as for the rest, I'm afraid I cannot get involved."
Helen seemed confident that Lin Chuan would agree and continued smiling, "Lin Chuan, we've tracked some developments that you will find interesting." With that, Lin Chuan beckoned to one of the staff.
The staff member nodded, tapped a few keys on the computer's keyboard, and a person appeared on the large screen. Lin Chuan looked at the screen; the person displayed was a typical Chinese individual, slightly overweight and about forty years old.
Lin Chuan didn't recognize the person and asked Helen, "Who is he?"
"You don't recognize this person!" Helen said, surprised, "His name is Mu Zhengqing."
As soon as she said the name, Lin Chuan's eyes lit up.
Mu Zhengqing was once a prominent private entrepreneur a few years ago, had founded the Zhengqing Group, and through some illegal methods, defrauded nearly ten billion in funds through going public and then suddenly absconded abroad, becoming China's number one red notice criminal.
"What do you mean by this?" Lin Chuan stared at the screen showing Mu Zhengqing and asked Helen.
Helen smiled and said, "If you agree to help us find the missing agent Lao'er, we'll assist you in capturing him and allow you to personally escort him back to China."
Lin Chuan pondered for a while and said, "Let me make a call first."
"No problem," Helen said.
Lin Chuan walked aside, took out his phone, and dialed the number of the old General Chen Zhengguo, far away in Beijing.
The call connected, and the elder general's slightly aged but robust voice came through: "Hello..."
Lin Chuan quickly said into the phone, "General, it's me, Lin Chuan."
On the phone, the old general clearly paused and then said, "Lin Chuan, you brat, finally remembered to call me?"
Lin Chuan replied awkwardly, "General, I just got out for a few days..."
The old general interrupted Lin Chuan and said, "Don't explain that useless stuff to me, I'll settle the score when you return. Now tell me, what's up?"
Lin Chuan then relayed Mu Zhengqing's matter to the old general.
After a moment of silence, the old general's voice came through, "Lin Chuan, this issue seems viable to me. Mu Zhengqing is our country's number one wanted criminal, and we've been searching for years without success. This could be an opportunity."
"I understand, please rest assured, General, I will definitely bring Mu Zhengqing back to the country," Lin Chuan assured the general.
Ending the call, Lin Chuan returned to Helen and said, "Can you tell me about the situation first?"
Helen raised her right hand, brushed her flowing golden hair, and said, "A year ago, agent Lao'er was tasked with tracking down a wanted British criminal. He received information that this criminal was hiding in Washington, so he went there to investigate. However, six months ago, we lost contact with him."
"Can you tell me about the criminal he was tracking?" Lin Chuan asked.
Helen nodded and said, "This wanted man is named Will, an outstanding weapons expert from our country. He developed a new type of advanced weapon, but he fled with the weapon's information. Lin Chuan, if this advanced weapon were to fall into the hands of terrorists, the consequences would be unimaginable."
"Can you tell me about this weapon's information?" Lin Chuan further inquired.
Helen said, "We call this weapon MT; it is an extremely lethal weapon. Look at the screen, this is it."
Lin Chuan looked at the screen, where a handgun appeared. This handgun looked similar to the American-made TC model, but its body was made of a transparent substance, clearly revealing a green liquid inside.
"Lin Chuan, did you see that green liquid inside the gun barrel?" Helen said.
Lin Chuan nodded.
Helen continued, "Don't underestimate this green liquid. Once fired from this gun, it can instantly destroy everything within a kilometer radius."
Lin Chuan shuddered, realizing Helen was telling the truth. If such a weapon fell into the hands of terrorists, imagine how many countries would be attacked.
"What is this liquid called?" Lin Chuan asked Helen in surprise.
Helen gave a wry smile and shook her head, saying, "I don't know its exact name either; it wasn't disclosed to me."
Lin Chuan believed Helen's answer was genuine. This kind of thing is top secret, likely known only to the highest officials.
Helen beckoned to the staff, and a new image appeared on the screen. The person looked Chinese, but he was skinny, with a hooked nose and an unsettling gleam in his eyes.
Helen pointed to the screen and said, "This person is Li Tiansheng, the leader of the Sanhe Gang. The disappearance of Agent Lao'er and Will's escape are closely tied to him, and your wanted suspect, Mu Zhengqing, is also involved with him."
Sanhe Gang, Lin Chuan had heard of them, but knew little about Li Tiansheng.
"Should we start investigating Li Tiansheng?" Lin Chuan asked Helen after thinking for a while.
Helen shook her head, saying, "Directly investigating him might alert him, so we need to come up with a different plan."
...
Zhou Kai and Lu Dapao, along with a dozen Jvyi Gang brothers, arrived in Washington by the next afternoon. They quickly contacted Taozi and went to the hospital to see the injured Huang Bo.
Huang Bo was seriously beaten by Li Huaiqiang's men that day, with three broken ribs and severe spleen damage. Taozi was beaten too, but his injuries were not as severe as Huang Bo's.
Zhou Kai and Lu Dapao looked at Huang Bo lying on the hospital bed, both filled with anger. Huang Bo was still unconscious, but Taozi was awake.
"Taozi, what exactly happened? Why is Bozi in this state?" Zhou Kai asked as he stood by Taozi's hospital bed.
Taozi recounted everything that had happened to Zhou Kai and Lu Dapao in full detail.
After listening, Lu Dapao slammed the bedside table angrily, "Damn it! These bastards are too arrogant, I'm taking the brothers to deal with them now."
Zhou Kai was also fuming, saying to Taozi on the hospital bed, "Good brothers, you've been wronged. We, Jvyi Gang, won't let these scumbags get away. Da Pao, let's confront Li Huaiqiang once Qiangzi arrives."
"Alright, I haven't wielded a knife in days. Damn it, I'm going to unleash a slaughter this time." Lu Dapao said, looking a bit defiant.
A young nurse dressed in white came in, a well-built American woman. She glared at Lu Dapao and Zhou Kai, saying, "This is a hospital, please keep quiet."
The beautiful nurse spoke in English, leaving Zhou Kai and Lu Dapao confused as they couldn't understand.
Taozi knew they couldn't understand English, quickly saying, "The nurse asked you to keep quiet," then apologizing to the nurse in English, "Sorry, Miss Nurse."
The nurse cast an irritated glance at them and left the room.
The nurse hadn't been gone for two minutes when Zhou Kai's phone rang.
He answered the call, finding out Li Qiang had arrived in Washington with a few people, and asked him to come to the hospital first.
Shortly after, Li Qiang and his group arrived at the hospital. Zhou Kai and the others discussed and decided to confront Li Huaiqiang immediately to avenge Huang Bo.
Led by one of Taozi's men, Zhou Kai, Lu Dapao, and Li Qiang marched with dozens toward Li Huaiqiang's bar.
Zhou Kai had his usual big machete at his waist, while Lu Dapao carried two axes, specifically brought along.
...
Lin Chuan and Helen were still at 232 Green Street, having left the secret room. They sat on the living room sofa, contemplating how to deal with Li Tiansheng and find the agent Lao'er and weapons expert Will.
Just then, Helen's phone rang.
Helen walked aside to answer the call, then, eyes sparkling, approached Lin Chuan and said, "Lin Chuan, here's some news: a group of Chinese people are heading to Li Tiansheng's nephew, Li Huaiqiang's bar, seemingly to cause trouble."
Lin Chuan was caught off guard, unaware these Chinese were his Jvyi Gang brothers, and asked, "Who are they?"
