Chapter 243: Punching Bag Lizard
———Wiina———
<12: 11 pm>
“Alright you two, get outta here.” I said before capturing them in a bubble and sending them away before either of them could protest. It’s a weak spell that’ll disappear in a minute or so, just in case they wanna come back and watch.
“Hehehe…” He chuckled creepily as the big gash on his body was repaired, making it look like nothing ever happened. “So… You’re here. How surprising.”
He can indeed talk, that act of incoherence of his was quite unconvincing anyway. Those two probably don’t care either way, if I were to guess. Either way, he is certainly not of sound mind regardless of his ability to talk. It barely makes a difference, except for one thing.
“Why shouldn’t I? Do you honestly think you wouldn’t become a target the moment that happened?” Even if it wasn’t me, someone else would’ve targeted and subdued him. I’m not the only person capable of defeating a dangerous and cheat-like individual like him. “An inferior like you should know your place.”
“Inferior!? Do you really think you could bluff! Do I look like a common criminal in your eyes? Because that’ll be your downfall!” He gloated, no doubt thinking that his nearly perfect immortality let him run in his mouth. How foolish. Does he think I don’t know about it?
*Dash* *Swat* *Splat*
He ran at me and I simply swatted him away like a common fly, his body was casually cleaved through and splattered.
“Urgh! Hah! Did you think that was gonna be enough?” He looks confused for a moment before the bravado kicks in. “…You sure don’t seem surprised.”
“Eh. I have seen something like that before. Nothing special.” I said just to get some reaction out of him, and his expression does darken in response, but nothing particularly noteworthy.
“You think your bluff will work!?” He screamed up before lunging at me again.
*Push* *Launch* *Crash*
I push my hand forward and he’s launched right into the sky and crashes back down. Now this is quite amusing. A perfect punching bag.
Unfortunately I can’t play around with him forever, he’s still a dangerous individual I need to neutralize. Thankfully, the area is completely devoid of life. There’s a lot of empty space for me to throw him around without worry.
*Leap* *Evade* *Bang* *Bang* *Bang*
He jumped towards me, to which I simply sidestepped before pulling out a gun and shot him multiple times. Each one that connects pierce through his body with enough force to push him back multiple feet.
*Dash* *Slash* *Slice* *Dice* *Blast*
I then approach him and cut him into multiple pieces before blasting him with an energy attack.
“Grrhhh… RAHHH!!!” He quickly regenerates and growls at me, clearly starting to lose his composure.
*Leap* *Evade*
He lunged at me, and once again I simply sidestepped the attempt. From my perspective, it just looks like he’s floating in the air due to the difference in our perception of time. Plenty of time for me to react and do something like this.
*Slice* *Slice* *Slice* *Slice* *Slice* *Slice*
I cut the arm that he extended out into multiple thin pieces that slowly separate itself from the body.
*Punch* *Crash*
I then punched his face as he was about to react to his arm being chopped up into pieces, sending him and the rest of his body flying and crashing into the debris.
The parts of his body that were cut off quickly returned to him and reattached. There’s certainly something odd about objects that cannot move on their own suddenly being pulled in by an unknown force.
“…I didn’t expect you to pull out a gun.” He remarked. That’s the thing he’s surprised by? Of all things?
“I can use whatever I feel like. Including something like this.” I said before pulling out a slingshot and a metal ball.
*Stretch* *Launch* *PIERCE*
I shoot the ball out and it blows his head clean off from the force of impact. His body fell to the ground before standing back up as his head quickly regenerated back.
“What the hell is-
*Grab* *Throw* *Leap* *Spin* *Kick* *CRASH*
Before he could finish his sentence, I threw him into the sky before jumping up and doing a spin kick that sent him flying straight back down to the ground, causing him to sink deep into the earth and probably breaking most of his body in the process.
*Shine*
I then conjured up a ball of energy as I stayed floating in the air, waiting for him to get up.
*Leap* *Throw* *Smack*
He predictably jumped towards me without care, and I threw the ball down which hit him dead-on, shifting his momentum as he’s suddenly being sent back down again.
*Swing* *Smack* *Swing* *Smack* *Swing* *Smack*
Moving the ball around to hit him and never stop hitting him as he’s stuck in the air unable to do anything. The ball is moving too fast for him to react in any way.
*Crash* *BOOM*
I then made it go down right on him before exploding upon hitting the ground, destroying most of his body in the process.
I landed back down on earth to get a closer look, and he has already fully regenerated.
“You… Do you think you can really keep up?” He said, clearly not liking the current trajectory of the battle. Based on his wordings, he expected the fight to be the same as always. His raw power aside, that regenerative ability is very impressive, very much top quality, a one in a trillion, even. A being that could be categorized as a perpetual motion machine is not something one would expect to exist even once in multiple millennia, yet here he is.
Unfortunately for him, the world we lived in has proved that more absurd dice rolls have been witnessed, and the consequence of it will persist long after our time.
*Slash* *Slice* *Dice*
I cut him in pieces from afar, as if I was right in front of him.
*ZAP*
I then rained down a massive bolt of lightning that charred the pieces black.
“Do you really think all of that will amount to anything!?” He yelled out, clearly starting to get irritated after the strings of punishment coming his way.
“Yes.” I said before casually walking towards him.
*Swat* *Splat*
Casual for me anyway. By the time he registered my movement, I had already gotten behind him and removed his head from his body.
“You!” He turned around as his head regenerated, clearly trying to finally start retaliating.
*Flick* *SPLAT*
I flick my finger in his direction and a large trail of destruction that turned him into fine red mist can be seen extending for miles.
*Blast*
He reformed and threw out a beam of energy my way. Another one of his energy breath attacks. It seems to be a signature of his with that long gaping mouth.
I casually walked through the attack like it’s a light breeze.
*Shove* *BOOM*
I put a bomb in his mouth and interrupted the attack completely, letting it blow up right in my face alongside his entire body.
*Push* *Crash*
I lightly push him away the moment his body finishes regenerating and launching him far and disgracefully landing down on his back.
“How… are you still standing!?” By the standard of how battles usually go, I would normally be the one to say that instead of him, but I can see why the flip in script is happening.
For him, he thought he was the only person with that kind of ability. He is constantly regenerating, growing stronger as the fight goes on, a broken set of abilities that has no real counter outside of absurd hax or firepower. That’s where his thinking goes awry. He thinks that a bad scenario will never occur for him. How foolish and close-minded.
*Swing* *CRASH*
I responded to that with a casual swing of my leg, and suddenly the area in front of me looked like it got hit with a powerful shockwave that resembled a giant sword swing. He got caught up in it and his body was once more obliterated into fine red mist. He just isn’t that durable in the grand scheme of things. If those two can heavily damage him and almost kill him by themselves, then obviously he doesn’t hold a candle to me or the others.
*Lift*
“Huh?” He exclaimed in shock as he was suddenly being lifted up into the air with no warning. I hold on my right arm as I move him higher up, seeing him struggling to do anything to stop this involuntary movement.
*Splat*
I close my right hand and his body explodes into bits and pieces.
“GRAHH!!!” He screamed out once he was fully healed and started making his way towards me.
*Dash* *Zip*
He tried to pursue me, running at full speed while I simply crossed my arms and stared at him, flying away while keeping my eyes on him, silently mocking him and keeping the distance between us that he could never hope to close.
*Zip*
I then suddenly fly away and remove myself from his vision, to which he stops his running and starts looking around, confused as to where I’ve gone.
I simply tapped his shoulder as he stood there in silence.
*Punch* *Splat*
He turned around and I punched his head clean off like it was made of jello, the stuff underneath all went flying as the skin and bones were unable to withstand the force of impact.
*Shine* *Crash* *BOOM*
I then took a few steps back before I casually threw out another ball of energy that exploded on impact, vaporizing his body just as he was about to fully recover.
“It’s… useless!” He screamed out after recovering from that as well. “Can’t you see that nothing can truly stop me? What do you hope to gain!”
“Nothing but words of a man who is on the cusp of breaking.” I said before pointing at him.
*Bang* *Splat*
I shot out a beam of energy that blew out most of his body, and he quickly regenerated, still raring to keep going. Tenacious, but I can tell that he’s nearing his limit.
*Shine*
“What is this!?” He screamed out as he was suddenly put in a cube-shaped barrier.
“It’s time to wrap it up, I think.” I said, feeling like things are starting to get stale at this moment and time. I have better things to do than tormenting him for a few minutes at this point.
*Stab* *Stab* *Stab* *Stab* *Stab* *Stab* *Stab* *Stab* *Stab* *Stab* *Stab* *Stab* *Stab* *Stab* *Stab* *Stab* *Stab* *Stab* *Stab* *Stab* *Stab* *Stab* *Stab* *Stab*
Spears of light emerged from within and they went straight through him, slowly overwhelming the tiny space he had to work with as his body became nothing but mush once those protrusions covered most of the available area.
*BOOM*
I made it detonate for an extra flare.
“Why… Just because I can’t die. You think it’s fine to do all that!?” He protested weakly. Seems like he is losing his spirit.
“Why shouldn’t I be allowed to do that?” I said while tilting my head.
*Dash* *Swat* *Split*
He ran at me and I swatted him away again, cutting him clean in half.
“I thought… you were the ‘no kill’ type.” He blurted out.
“And is that not what I’m doing? I’m not really killing you. I know full well you’ll just recover.” I said with a smug smile as he stood there, confused. “You are also the last person I want to hear that from. You think an irredeemable piece of garbage like you should even have the privilege to live?”
*Slice* *Split*
“Just know that I am being very merciful by doing this.” I cut him in half before he could make another move. “Also, I want to make one thing clear. My ‘no kill’ rule is not due to a strict moral code, there are people way too despicable to be left alive normally. I just don’t do it because I know I can get away with it.”
“...What do you-
“Here’s another fun fact for you. With enough power and mastery, you could overwrite certain characteristics of another person. Think of it as a potent curse, if you will.” I said before lifting him up into the sky again. “Sorry, but I’m bored. It’s time to end this.”
“P-Put me down!” He screamed out, a pathetic attempt at pleading.
“Goodbye.” I said before I do a lazy swiping motion.
*Crush* *Crunch* *Squeeze*
His body contorts and is sucked into itself, getting smaller and denser until he is little more than a pebble.
*Snap* *Flash*
And with the finishing touch, he fell to the floor. Now transmuted into a tiny rock cube that can’t do anything except existing there. Can’t move, can’t speak, but know that he is still on this mortal plane.
Nothing but a tiny trophy.
