Beyond M-Eclipse: Easy Mode LIVE

Chapter 215: Aftercap

<4: 12 pm>

“Look. I get it. I was reckless there, but with that guy around was it ever a problem?” I said as I lay down on the sofa.

“Of course it is. What would happen if you become complacent?” Glery said with quite a confrontational tone that’s hard to come by.

“I’m not gonna be like that. I know my limits, but it’s hard to not get swept up by the moment, it gets the best out of everyone at some point in their lives.” It’s not like I got hit that badly. Also, please stop staring at me like that with those snakes also glaring, it’s kinda scary, actually.

“Hmm…” She seemed kinda skeptical but didn’t say anything else. She was never the type to do such a long and arduous debate.

I mean what does she really expect? We’re gonna find trouble at some point during the trip. It’s not like the first trip wasn’t riddled with problems either, considering what happened.

…I guess she’s not going to say anything else to me. That’s fine. I don’t really have anything to say to her right now anyway. That hijinks aside we already talked about everything we could on the ship, both on the initial and return trip.

…I guess aside from that mishaps not much really happened, and nothing for us to really talk about. That beast way insanely strong, it’s kinda hard to believe that people from the Perfect Class can fight those things and can come out on top just by their lonesome, if prior statistics are anything to go by.

There just seems to be a vast gap between them and everyone else that wasn’t already involved in all of this. I don’t really know if reiterating that point would motivate me to try harder or try less at this point, but they’re the only good benchmark I can really think of right now, since we’re from the same school and all.

“When are you going to get gauntlets or even gloves, bare fists ain’t gonna last.” I said, observing his lack of equipment.

“I’ll get to that sooner or later, for now, let’s just enjoy the moment.” He said while he’s getting ready to strike. I suppose we don’t have a lot of time before the stadium will boot us out. Roughly an hour before we are forced to leave.

“...Hold on.” Before we could actually fight, I noticed someone in the audience seat. I didn’t expect to actually see someone here at this hour. Malk noticed my gaze and turned around to look at it as well, seeing the figure casually sitting there observing us. I couldn’t even sense them despite being in my detection range. “Who the hell are you, get down from there!”

The figure then suddenly jumped off their seat and showed themselves in full. It’s her.

“Can’t I watch in peace? Don’t let me ruin your moment now.” Navi said while shrugging her shoulders. It’s the fact that she’s here in the first place that is ruining our moment. What’s gonna happen if she just silently watches while we do something stupid!? I sure as well don’t want that!

“You being here is the main problem!” I called out while pointing one of my swords at her. “Why are you even here?”

“To watch, obviously. I missed a few lover’s spats between you two.” Wha-!? Don’t call it that you idiot!

“Where the hell did that come from you fucking moron!” I yelled at her just to get the point across. Don’t say such unnecessary things!

“Oh come on now.” She said with a smirk. “Hey, so are you two gonna continue or what? I’m getting bored out of my mind here.”

My eyes met with Malk for a moment and we already knew what we’re about to do.

“Whoa! I didn’t realize you two are resorting to teaming up now!” She sarcastically said as the two of us aimed our weapons and fists at her. “I guess this works with me. The monsters for this trip are too easy to fight anyway, I need something more challenging.”

Suddenly a massive burst of pressure enveloped the area as she unsheathed her katana. This oppressive force that exists simply from her showing her intent to battle, this is too much for basically anyone!

<5: 03 pm>

“Aguh… Uhgh…” I can’t… move at all. Pain… all over… my body.

“Oh my. Looks like I didn’t put on the right kid’s gloves today.” Navi smugly said as she put her katana back in its scabbard. “Alright, let’s heal you two back up.”

*Shine*

A comforting burst of light shone on the two of us, though the fatigue still remained, so I don’t really feel like standing back up right now.

“Well. That doesn’t last very long, but here.” Navi said something as she placed down a can of drinks for both of us. Oh hey, it’s my favorite brand… Ain’t this pretty rare to come by, where did she get this from?

“Thanks…” I couldn’t really be bothered to ask. Let’s just take a drink and relax a bit. Oh. It’s also cold. Where did she even pull this out from.

Actually… Let me just stand back up… Having a bulky tail makes it a pain in the ass to lay down. I don’t really want to sleep on the hard floor right now.

“It’s like trying to fight a speeding bullet.” Malk remarked as he also got up and opened up the can to drink, no need to play tough if you don’t want to. “Just what the hell are you made out of?”

“Normal living tissues. I’m just a person like everyone else.” Navi said with a smirk. She doesn’t look even a little bit exhausted, and we were basically fighting for our lives just now.

This is the person I didn’t have the name of the first time I spotted her hanging out with Karra. No one ever saw her before, and why she hung out with one of our friends out of the blue was puzzling. She’s just as confounding as Wiina is despite not really showing herself as often.

Why was she even there at the Fantarban Realm we were at in the first place? According to those two she just suddenly appeared and then left with no explanation whatsoever.

“Anyway, are you two satisfied? I got a home to go to. It’s getting kinda late and I promise to make dinner today.” That implies she is living with someone, but who?

“Yeah. I’m completely spent.” Malk said, and the same could be said for me. “You’re hella scary to fight. Where did you learn all of that?”

“Just learning it from someone and just self-taught from there. I’d consider myself quite privileged in terms of talent, so I wouldn’t put myself as an example for you two to follow.” Kinda weird to hear that after all of us repeatedly get berated for being ‘too talented’ but whatever. “Well. I should get going. If she finds out that… Nevermind, see you two later.”

…I can’t tell if that’s a slip of the tongue or if she’s just messing with us. It’s not a lot to go on anyway. Regardless, she basically disappeared in a flash, like she was there one second and gone the next.

“Such a mysterious figure.” Malk said before suddenly collapsing to the ground. He’s not in the position to get up so early. His human body isn’t as durable or regenerative as mine, so he can’t really expect to get up quickly even with a healing spell.

“You idiot. I guess I gotta carry you home.” I said before taking a long sigh.

<6: 42 pm>

“Mhmm…” Useph continued digging in on his cereal bowl. Does he really need to indulge in more sweets? There were already enough of those on the ship.

“It seems the Young Master has quite a voracious appetite today.” Sully said, clearly also a bit worried about his eating habit. It’ll go away tomorrow. I’d imagine being around so much abundance makes his brain go haywire sometimes. Kind of a miracle he’s still so fit.

“I know using mana can expend a surprising amount of calories and accelerate metabolism, but this still feels a bit much.” I can’t help but remark.

Useph seems to be blocking out all the noises as he still keeps eating.

“...Sully. Can you get me something to drink? Just coffee black will do.” I said while leaning back on the sofa.

“Acknowledged.” She said before walking off. Not sure where the other maids are right now, but just her is fine. We have too many maids around here anyway. I don’t even really know how they could afford to spend so much on manpower. In fact, I don’t really know where their incomes came from. It felt like the story changed each time I asked. Useph obviously doesn't know anything about it.

“...That was rude, you know?” Useph said as he put his bowl down. It's his fault for making himself look so undignified at that moment. I don’t want to know what his mother would do if she saw him like that.

“It was some light banter. Nothing to worry about. You should be lucky your parents aren’t here.” I said that and his body shook for a moment.

His family life is a bit complicated, but that’s got nothing to do with me for now. Maybe a bit later on in life it’d be more important to consider.

“Excuse me. Here is your order.” Sully came back with the coffee, before turning her attention to Useph. “Do you need another refill, Young Master?”

“...I’ll just take a large cup of lemonade or something. Go get it.” Useph said after pondering for a moment.

Guess he got self-conscious about it the moment I brought up those two. I don’t actually think him overindulging today is that big of a deal, but if he thinks it is I’m not gonna stop him.

We don’t even have anyone else around to make fun of him for it, Kenni isn’t here, for one thing.

<7: 01 pm>

“Hmm…” I mumbled to myself as I looked through the articles. Seems like some new territories are gearing up for possible attacks. If only they know that it was all a simple case of chance. She could’ve gone anywhere, done anything, and whether she actually picked a fight is up to what she finds the most amusing. “Hey, Wiina, how long do you think the rest of our group is gonna take to catch up to those two?”

“If we keep up the current pace, it’ll all still be the same, really.” She said with a tone of apathy. “You can’t really surpass those with will greater than your own, and its sinful or virtuous nature doesn’t matter. It’s about who wants it more.”

Waxing poetics at a time like this. She must’ve been bored out of her mind, or so deep in her thoughts that any response is basically automated. I don’t fully understand how she functions with whatever being a Superhuman is. It sounds very strong, at minimum. That should be the case, considering how strong she already is. I don’t know the full extent of it.

“Hey Wiina. Do you know if any big incident will be caused by a higher power or whatever?” I asked since she seems willing to talk, at least.

“No. I’d imagine it’ll happen if they got deadly bored, which hasn’t happened yet. The whole rebellion and takeover and such really put them in a good mood.” She explained. Now that’s just morbid to think about. Some of those takeovers barely have any casualties, but most of them ended up pretty darn bloody by the end.

I guess when you have lived for so long only something like this could really keep you up at night. I really don’t want to think about what might happen if I ended up living for thousands of years.

“Also, have you thought about doing anything crazy?” I’m just throwing this question out there just in case.

“Nah. I’m just living by the moment right now. Even those guys don’t always plot a new scheme to amuse themselves. Everyone has their off time where they just don’t do anything.” She answered. Guess we’ll be expecting at least a week of peace with nothing crazy happening.
