Re: Timeless Apocalypse

Chapter 205: Project Magia(V): Star Rings

’...’

That balance, of everything and nothing, of world and void, was exactly what Uriel needed to forge the tool he envisioned.

It was the perfect catalyst for his new path.

KAH! KAH! KAH!

Uriel’s presence became like a pure anomaly in the world, one part of him recognised by the void as its kin, and another recognised as family to the world.

The void pulled on his body, attempting to break it down into its fabric, while the world pulled on his soul, attempting to assimilate it into its systems.

World and Void clashed within his body, and all that remained intact, like a burning flame amidst a maelstrom of chaos, was his Will.

’...form and shape...form and shape...’

Uriel took it a step further and opened the gates of his mind, allowing everything he had ever comprehended to resonate with the world around him and take part in the clash occurring within his body.

’Form and shape...then root and foundation...’

Uriel’s cores shook. All three of them.

Under the impossibly high pressure of the void and the world’s clash, his cores compressed, again and again, until they became smaller than even specks of dust.

But in turn, the concentration of aether within them became such that his presence, across the energetic fabric of the world, grew perhaps even mightier than a star’s.

The energetic fabric around him bent and twisted into a sphere, within which seas upon seas of primordial energy had no choice but to fall.

Suddenly, the subtle clash of void and world within him gained energy—it gained substance—and the chaos rose to an even higher degree.

But before it could shatter Uriel’s body and mind apart, he used resonance and harmony to displace the phenomenon from his entire body and into the pools within his cores.

"AGGHH!" Uriel gasped for air as the pressure lifted from his body, and he could finally move again. His expression was pale, and his body was covered in sweat.

Step one was done. But there was more to come.

’Focus!’

Without wasting a single second, he refocused.

Now that the chaos occurred within his cores, he was on a short timer before they shattered under the weight, and before the space around him collapsed and void flames consumed him.

He had to be quick, or else death would catch up.

WHOOOSH!

’Shape and form. Root and foundation. Then...’

Uriel let himself feel. He let his mind feel the tugs of the void and the tears of the world, the two trying to claim him as their own, clashing in the process.

Slowly, he used true infusion and resonant dominance in tandem, infusing his mind across the two forces, then allowing harmony to bloom from his depths as he took control of the chaos.

Under his reign, chaos collapsed into order.

The process was incredibly complex and required a level of skill and focus Uriel wouldn’t have had if not for his moon.

But thankfully, he had it. And he’d be sure to take advantage of it.

SHI!

He exhaled again.

Tightly shutting his eyes, Uriel let the memories of the primordial dance play across his mind, and as it happened, he steered the primordial energy flooding him, using the forces of the world and void as hammers and tools to forge something new.

’...perfect. It’s perfect.’

A hum echoed from Uriel, a result born from unmatched synchronicity with all things—from the void to the world, from the true worldly laws to the spiritual laws, and from chaos to order.

And as a result...

SHI! SHI! SHI! SHI!

...one after another, around his cores, beautiful and sleek obsidian rings formed, across which countless runic systems were etched, across which all laws were reflected.

All worldly laws.

PAH! PAH! PAH!

And across the beautiful obsidian rings, stars bloomed into being, of a stark ivory hue, pure beyond words and understanding, in utter and absolute harmony with the rings.

In the depths of these stars, ancient jagged symbols and markings could be seen, forming mysterious and archaic systems of law and truths, across which all laws were reflected.

All spiritual laws.

HUMMMMMM!

The hum from Uriel’s body and soul became deafening, and if any were to look at him, it would be hard to differentiate him—from nothing to everything, from the void to the world.

He was one with it. All of it.

WHOOSH!

Around each core, thirteen obsidian rings formed, and across the axes of each ring, thirteen radiant ivory stars took shape.

They pressed onto his cores, compressing them even further as primordial energy leaked and infused across Uriel’s body and soul.

But just as the process was about to end successfully, Uriel’s eyes snapped open—red and bleeding—and he roared out.

"STOP!"

His aether burned, and dissonance echoed across his form and shape, all parts of himself suddenly frozen in a state of stasis.

It was as if he had frozen his body within a single frame of time.

All that remained free was his mind.

’...’

Uriel’s mind reeled in pain, his choice to so suddenly stop the process nearly killing him.

But he knew why he had done it.

If he let the process continue and reach completion, his rings and stars would be unmatched across any mage or martial artist—even with him having no access to mana or aura, for the moment.

But he wanted more. His goal wasn’t to surpass others, nor to simply be stronger than any.

His goal was to stand within a realm of his own.

As of now, each of his rings were runic fabrics of endless true worldly laws of their own, and each of his stars were folded primordial fabrics overflowing with endless spiritual laws of their own as well.

But one thing was missing.

Will and specialization.

’...’

Uriel felt himself nearly black out, his dissonance too juvenile to hold against the void and world for long, but still, he persisted.

He was a mere step away from perfection.

’Form and shape. Root and foundation. And now...Will and Path.’

Uriel felt the depths of his broken runic scars, then, for the first time, pulled on the dormant chaotic storm of emotions sealed in his heart.

The raging abyss born from all his failures.

He used true infusion and resonant dominance in tandem, allowing that madness to flow across his domain and deep into his body.

The avalanche slammed against the forces of the void and world, solidifying his dissonance and throwing part of his mind into madness.

It was a gamble, but it would be worth it.

It gave him just the slightest opening to act. And it would be enough.

’My first Star Ring will be...Light.’

The room shook. No, the entire Wilderlands shook.

RUMBLE!
