Chapter 429: Bad Situation
The moment Eduardo’s hybrid form landed in front of the vehicle, he threw his head back and released a deafening roar carrying enough force to span outward as a wave of compressed air that shattered every window of the car.
Glass exploded in every direction, forcing Olaf to raise his left arm to shield his face from the fragments and the pressure rushing toward him.
Then everything went quiet.
He slowly pushed the door open and stepped out of the vehicle, sweeping his eyes across his surroundings to notice of the others who had surrounded him.
To his left was the floating caster, Valerie, whose red magic circles had appeared before her palms in readiness to unleash spells.
Behind him, was a more powerful presence. The mana radiating from Ethan’s hitman summon was comparable to his own.
And standing directly in front of him was an entirely different problem altogether; The enormous hybrid blocked the road with predatory eyes fixed on him.
There was no need for any sort of conversation at this moment.
Eduardo and the others weren’t foolish enough to pretend they hadn’t noticed they were being followed. Likewise, Olaf wasn’t naive enough to think he could talk his way out of this.
The agent’s expression hardened at the fact that he was in a terrible position; which meant he had to prepare for battle.
Without any warning, Valerie made the first move with a sealing magic spell which formed complex series of runes around Olaf’s face.
The agent suddenly reached for his throat as he felt his breathing becoming labored.
The air around his nose and mouth had been sealed away, and he was suddenly suffocating.
Rather than attacking his body directly, Valerie’s spell had created a precise blockade around his breathing space, preventing oxygen from reaching him.
The spell was something Valerie had learned over the past two months.
With Granny Jenner being one of Ethan’s summons, she easily taught her grand daughter new forms of sealing magic that suited Valerie’s S-rank talents.
And this particular technique happened to be one of them.
Unfortunately, Olaf wasn’t an ordinary opponent.
A yellow aura suddenly erupted from his body in a sudden surge as his eyes began glowing the same yellow light.
The pressure released by his strengthening ability immediately disrupted the sealing spell, scattering the runes apart.
What followed immediately afterward was the sharp report of a gunshot from Joe’s sniper, Katarina in compact mode.
This sniper rifle fired from several meters behind Olaf, striking the back of his knee in an attempt to force him down.
The agent’s leg buckled slightly, but he managed to keep himself upright. Olaf wasn’t just any awakened; he was an SS-Tier Guardian and one of the few individuals who were naturally born with high-tier talents levels.
However, Olaf wasn’t given any opportunity to capitalize on that advantage.
Eduardo was already upon him, closing the distance in an instant and driving directly into him.
The collision sent Olaf crashing backward, with his body slamming into the ground and carving trenches through the ground as the force behind Eduardo’s charge dragged him several meters across the street.
Olaf immediately reached forward and grabbed hold of him, trying to stop the momentum. His teeth was gritted, with blood escaping through them.
Then Eduardo raised him just enough before slamming him back into the ground a second time.
The impact sent another shock through his body and frustration flashed across his face.
He was being overwhelmed, but refused to yield regardless.
Every muscle in his body tightened as he fought to hold his ground against Eduardo’s overwhelming physical strength.
The hybrid crashed crashed into Olaf’s face, splitting the skin across his cheek, before releasing a second punch which sent blood spilling from his mouth.
Eduardo pulled his arm back, preparing to drive a third strike into his face.
But this time, Olaf caught it. His fingers held the hybrid’s fist tightly, and his eyes burned with fury.
The guardian class skill, Rage, had been activated, expanding his overall body frame slightly.
The sudden increase in strength immediately changed the balance between them. And with a violent twist of his body, Olaf forced Eduardo’s arm aside, planted a foot against his chest, and shoved him backward.
The movement created just enough separation to allow the agent spring back to his feet, before staggering several steps backward.
He was breathing hard and trying to catch his breath but Valerie didn’t give him a chance to recover.
She shot several fire-element spells toward him, forcing him to raised an arm to shield himself.
The flames struck his body and exploded against his reinforced skin and faded right after, leaving only a tiny sting in its wake.
At the end of the day, Valerie was still an S-tier caster whose spells were only at Tier 6.
Against an SS-Talent Guardian whose physical abilities had been strengthened to a level comparable to the Second-Tier Grand Class, those attacks weren’t going to be enough to dent him.
He turned his attention to her and lunged in her direction, covering the distance in a burst of speed, with the intention to eliminate the weakest member of the group first.
The sound of another gunshot echoed off as the bullet passed through the street to strike him at the side of his torso.
The impact snapped his body sideways and threw him off balance, sending him back to the groun.
Olaf struggled to get a hold of his footing, giving him no chance at all to react to the incoming hybrid who slammed into him again.
That forceful collision heralded the start of the struggle between them both. Multiple blows were exchanged one after another as they both clashed through the area furiously.
Unfortunately for Olaf, Rage wasn’t a permanent enhancement.
He knew he was going to lose that boost really soon; and it wasn’t like he had delivered any attack worth capitalizing on,
This was all coupled with the fact that there were two others asides the ferocious monster battling him.
So in one desperate exchange, he finally created an opening after connecting a fist into Eduardo’s chest to force the hybrid backward.
Olaf immediately turned and leaped away, landing several meters away before immediately launching himself forward again.
