Over The World, Beyond Heaven

When the elder heard Zheng-Fu's response, his face twitched. He had never seen anyone as confident and conceited as this young man. Moreover, even major clans would have to think carefully before spending a billion Eternal Coins.

"You look so confident, young man. But from what I see, you don't seem like someone with money." After a while, the elder spoke in a calm voice. He did not want to look down on Zheng-Fu but did not think he would have that much money. At most, this young man would only have a hundred to two hundred million Eternal Coins.

"Don't judge a book by its cover. Don't you know this? Although I look poor on the outside, in reality... I really am just that!"

You!

Ha ha ha!

Zheng-Fu had already thought that the elder would not believe him, and he had no need to convince him, so he teased him instead. And it worked. The elder was eager to hear what Zheng-Fu had to say, but once he realized that Zheng-Fu was teasing him to get his attention, his face instantly turned red like a monkey's butt in dissatisfaction.

Come on, Master Elder!

"Why are you worrying so much? Be careful not to worry, you'll age fast. Look, there's another wrinkle on your face. If you keep making that face, it might increase even more!"

"It's my face, you little brat!"

The elder had not been this hot-blooded and angry for a long time. He was usually very quiet and composed. But at that time, all of those characteristics had disappeared because he was tricked by Zheng-Fu.

A moment later, the auction for the first item ended. The bidder who had won the Demon Emperor Blood Jade had bid as high as three hundred and fifty million Eternal Coins. This was a very high price for a single drop of blood, especially since there was no confirmation of which Demon Emperor it belonged to.

After that, the second item was immediately put on the stage. It was also jade, but its quality was lower than the first item. However, it was still considered to be of a higher quality than the ones on the market. The starting price for this piece of jade was ten thousand Eternal Coins, and it ended at seventy thousand Eternal Coins. The winner this time was Zheng-Fu.

Two hours passed...

"Thank you for joining us for the past two hours, and finally, we've reached the third important item of this auction. Without further ado, let's meet..."

Flap!

"... Inferno Demon Deity's Reincarnated Medium Jade!"

Wow!

What a beautiful and mysterious jade this is!

Today, that piece of jade must be mine!

As soon as everyone saw the Inferno Demon Deity's Reincarnated Medium Jade that was put on display on stage, their eyes lit up as big as goose eggs, and they were gaping so wide you could have stuffed a wooden pestle into their mouths. This Inferno Demon Deity's Reincarnated Medium Jade had a human-like appearance, but it also contained a demonic aura. Not only was its appearance interesting, but the aura and scent it emitted were also mysterious and energetic.

"This Inferno Demon Deity's Reincarnated Medium Jade was excavated in an ancient ruin beneath the Hell Lava Cave, which is considered a top-ranking dangerous place. We had to lose many high-level, skilled masters to fight the lava demon monster beasts that were guarding there. But luck was on our side, one of our great skilled masters was able to safely bring this Inferno Demon Deity's Reincarnated Medium Jade back, and it's here as everyone sees it!"

The auction house manager explained the origin of this Inferno Demon Deity's Reincarnated Medium Jade. He added emotions and feelings to make the story feel more realistic. And his actions made this item look many times more expensive and precious.

It must be mine!

It's mine!

"Everyone, please calm down. I believe everyone wants to bid on this Inferno Demon Deity's Reincarnated Medium Jade. However, I'd like to make a slight change to the rules of this round of bidding. We'll auction by exchanging items. As long as your offer is of sufficient or equal value, we'll be willing to trade it with you."

Hah!?

Exchange items?!

"This Inferno Demon Deity's Reincarnated Medium Jade is worth hundreds of millions or maybe even billions of Eternal Coins. So, items of comparable value should be priced similarly. Do I still have the right to bid?"

"Even if it's not a trade of items, you don't have the right anyway. Don't you see how many major clans have joined the auction? They'll definitely go all out to bid on this jade!"

Umm!!!

Many people regretted not having the chance to join the auction for this Inferno Demon Deity's Reincarnated Medium Jade. Many were not disappointed because they thought that they would not have the chance to bid anyway and waited to see what treasures or magic items would be offered in exchange for this precious jade.

"Manager Song-Yang, I have a question. Is there a limit on the number of items required for exchange?"

Ooh!!!

This man's question was very useful for those who were thinking of joining the auction by combining multiple treasures.

"Of course not. As long as the items you all put together are worth the same as this Inferno Demon Deity's Reincarnated Medium Jade, who will win will depend on who offers the most," the manager, acting as the auctioneer, smiled broadly at everyone before replying with a very satisfied smile.

Great!

When everyone heard the manager's answer regarding the number of items, that as long as the items they offered were worth the same as Inferno Demon Deity's Reincarnated Medium Jade, it was enough to compete with the other bidders.

In Zheng-Fu's auction room…

"What a clever strategy! God of Jade Auction House must be making a huge profit. Normally, the price of this Inferno Demon Deity's Reincarnated Medium Jade is a billion Eternal Coins. That's the minimum bid price. Any extra items are just profit!" The elder admired the strategy of using items to exchange for items of the God of Jade Auction House for this item. Because no matter how you looked at it, the auction house would only make a profit.

"It's natural for them to want to make a profit from it. Judging from its origins, it shouldn't be easy to get it. I think the price of a billion Eternal Coins is definitely not worth what they've lost. By the way, do you know what Inferno Demon Deity's Reincarnated Medium Jade can do?"

Zheng-Fu did not criticize the rule setup. He thought it was reasonable for the auction house to want to make some profit back. However, he wondered what kind of use this Inferno Demon Deity's Reincarnated Medium Jade could have. Although he could feel that it was not ordinary and had a lot of energy, he did not know what it could do, so he tried asking the elder to see if he could get an answer.

Don't you know?

No!

Sigh...

"Well! Since you don't know, I'll explain it to you. Inferno Demon Deity's Reincarnated Medium Jade is like the medium of a perished Demon Deity. Although it's only the Demon Deity's medium, it has energy and mysterious knowledge hidden in it. If someone can fuse themselves with this jade, that person will become much stronger. But unfortunately..." the elder explained, but he did not finish his sentence and left it hanging at the word 'unfortunately' while making a sad face as if there was something he could not say.

What's unfortunate?!

Of course, Zheng-Fu knew that the elder had stopped talking like this for a reason—he wanted to be asked to continue talking. There was nothing complicated or hidden in it. It was just the habit of the elderly to want the children to ask what happened next in the bedtime story.

Ahem!

Seeing Zheng-Fu asking and looking puzzled, the elder coughed lightly once before smiling happily at the corner of his mouth and continued, "Unfortunately, it only works on the Demon Race. If we humans were to fuse this jade with ourselves, the result would be the complete opposite. We might be possessed by the demon energy and eventually go crazy! So, it's best if you don't waste your money or items to bid for it."

The elder explained with great wisdom and confidence in the information he had. Because hundreds of years ago, a human had already tried it, and the result was that he went crazy and couldn't control his own sanity. In the end, he was infiltrated by the Fire Element and could not recover and died.

Umm...

"But I think it'll have some uses. Even if I can't use it, it doesn't mean that other people can't use it."

However, Zheng-Fu did not think so. He believed that this Inferno Demon Deity's Reincarnated Medium Jade should be useful for him, so he decided to join the auction.

"You mean..."

"Yes! I'll join the bidding."

You!

The elder did not expect Zheng-Fu to be so stubborn and not listen to him, even though he had warned him.

"Don't worry, I have a way to deal with it."

Of course, Zheng-Fu already had his way, but he could not tell the elder right then because it was a matter of the future.

Huh!

Back on the stage again...

"In order not to waste time, I'll start the bidding... Please start bidding!"

"I'm offering two advanced three-star Deity Weapons, a full set of advanced three-star Deity Armor, and a thousand Tian-Zi Pills."

Wow!

"Look! A major clan has started. His bid is very high. One advanced three-star Deity Weapon is already worth three hundred million Eternal Coins. A set of advanced three-star Deity Armor would cost at least five to seven hundred million Eternal Coins. This doesn't include the thousand Tian-Zi Pills that even the intermediate Great Deity Stage cultivator could use. The total value of all these items exceeds over a billion Eternal Coins!"

Over a billion Eternal Coins?

"Di Clan's offer is very interesting. We accept it. Does anyone have a higher offer?"

"Wu-Qing Clan offers one Initial Fourth Level Weapon, a full set of Flaming Dragon Emperor Armor, and two thousand Tian-Zi Pills."

Oh!

When the first person made a bid, the second person immediately followed. After the second person made an offer, the third, fourth, and fifth person followed closely with increasingly higher bids. Everyone tried to bid as fast as possible and thought it was worth it.

It seemed that only the major clans and royal families were participating in the bidding. The bidders who were not in the special room all sat quietly and watched the bids of the people in the special room without blinking. Because the price at that time was too high for them to participate unless they sold their house and all their possessions, or even themselves if they wanted to compete in the auction.
