Chapter 630: Help
There was no one else in the bedroom. The decor was simple—it didn’t even have a closet, just a freestanding coat rack. The bed and sheets were both white, but it didn’t have the usual hotel smell of disinfectant. Instead, the air was quite fresh.
’Where is this place?’
Claire Sinclair propped herself up into a sitting position. She found herself lying in a corner, not on the bed. She wanted to stand, but her legs had no strength at all.
’Is my old illness flaring up?’
"Adrian," she called out, but no one answered.
She wanted to get her phone to call for help, but when she felt her pockets, not only was her phone gone, but her purse was missing as well. Even the watch on her wrist was gone!
’Could it be... I’ve been kidnapped?!’
Panic began to set in. Claire Sinclair shouted, "Is anyone there? Anybody!"
There was no response.
’What on earth is going on?’
Claire Sinclair tried to use the wall for support to stand up, but she failed after several attempts. It wasn’t just that her legs wouldn’t obey her; her arms couldn’t even support her own body. Her entire body felt weak.
A vague sense of danger made her increasingly uneasy and helpless.
Forced to sit back on the floor, she suddenly felt a wave of despair.
After waiting for an unknown amount of time, a faint sound came from outside the door. Claire Sinclair instantly tensed, holding her breath as she stared at the doorway.
She thought someone was about to enter, but the person outside merely walked past her room.
Claire Sinclair hurriedly shouted, "Hey, is anyone there? Help!"
After a moment, there was still no sound. ’Is the room too well soundproofed, or was the person outside one of my kidnappers?’
"Hey, is anyone there? Help me!"
"Help..."
"Is anyone there..."
Outside the room, someone else approached.
Two people wearing half-masks, who appeared to be a man and a woman.
The man was dressed in a casual suit, his posture ramrod straight, exuding an extraordinary air. The woman wore a sexy, hip-hugging dress and stiletto heels that perfectly accentuated her seductive figure.
As they passed the room, the man suddenly stopped.
The woman stopped as well and asked in confusion, "Orion, what’s wrong?"
Orion Osborne slowly turned to face the closed door, his brows, hidden beneath the mask, knitting together slightly.
"Is someone out there? Save me..."
"Help..."
’It’s her voice.’
Orion Osborne glanced back slightly and said in a low voice, "Guard this spot. I’m going in to take a look."
The woman said, displeased, "This place is full of women like that. What’s so special about the one inside?"
Orion Osborne didn’t say a word. He took a small step back, then suddenly lifted his foot and kicked the door open.
Claire Sinclair was so frightened she nearly jumped out of her skin. With a cry of "Ah!", she pressed her back against the wall, her heart hammering so fast she felt it might burst.
When the man got a clear look at the frightened woman’s face, his cold eyes narrowed. He strode over and squatted down in front of her.
Through the mask, Claire Sinclair couldn’t see his face clearly and had no idea who he was, but she could feel a dangerous aura emanating from him.
With no room to retreat, her body went stiff. She didn’t dare to breathe too loudly, and her voice came out in a stutter, "W-who are you? Where is this place?"
Orion Osborne slowly raised a hand, as if to touch her hair, but she shied away.
"Don’t touch me!" Claire Sinclair forced herself to calm down, but her body wouldn’t obey. She couldn’t even lift her hands and had no idea why.
Orion Osborne slowly leaned close to her ear and whispered, "Don’t be afraid. I’ll get you out of here."
His deep voice was laced with gentleness.
