Chapter 688: We’ll Talk After the Wedding
Theo Rhodes looked up at her and smiled. "Master, I wasn’t the one who asked you to come here. My uncle told me to keep an eye on you and not let you wander off."
Claire Sinclair raised an eyebrow. "Why would he do that??"
At the mention of serious business, Theo Rhodes suddenly lost interest in his game and put his phone away. "Master, you know my uncle and Third Miss Tanner are very important people. You and Brother Quincy weren’t the only ones invited to this wedding—Ethan Kingsley and Corinne Linden are here too. There are also some people with ill intentions, so you need to be careful."
Claire Sinclair let out a soft sigh. "Don’t touch anything, don’t eat anything, don’t drink anything. I’ll stick to the three-don’ts rule."
Her words made Theo Rhodes laugh. "You’re forgetting one thing. I have to watch you at all times, Master, to keep anyone from messing with you."
Claire Sinclair shot him a look. "We’ve already had a public falling out online. How are you supposed to watch over me?"
"Simple," Theo Rhodes said with a mischievous chuckle, a cunning glint in his eyes.
’That little brat’s method really was simple. And heavy-handed!’
As soon as she left the private room, Claire Sinclair found herself being followed closely by two of the Rhodes family’s servants. They stuck to her like shadows, even insisting on watching the door when she went to the restroom.
There was nothing Claire Sinclair could do about him, so she just let him have his way.
There was still half an hour until the wedding, but the guests hadn’t all arrived yet.
Ethan Kingsley and Corinne Linden hadn’t arrived, and neither had Adrian Quincy.
Claire Sinclair was used to waiting, so she wasn’t bothered. Tucked away from the main crowd, she idly played on her phone to pass the time.
After a while, a sudden commotion erupted at the entrance to the hall.
Claire Sinclair looked toward the source of the noise and saw that Ethan Kingsley and Corinne Linden had arrived.
’Why isn’t my husband here yet?’
Just as she was about to call him, she suddenly received a strange text message: "Claire Sinclair, I have Mrs. Quincy. If you want her back, bring 10 million in cash."
’Mrs. Quincy?’
’Which Mrs. Quincy?’
Claire Sinclair’s heart leaped into her throat. At first, she wondered if it was just a prank text, but she didn’t dare dismiss such a mysterious message entirely.
She glanced at the entrance. Adrian Quincy still hadn’t arrived, so she had no choice but to call him. "Mr. Quincy, how much longer will you be?"
"I’m almost there."
"Please hurry. I just received a really strange text message."
"Don’t panic. I’ll be right there."
Claire Sinclair let out a soft breath and put her phone away.
A few minutes later, a man with the commanding presence of a king finally appeared on the red carpet, striding in with steady steps.
Just as he was about to pass by Ariel O’Malley, she couldn’t help but call out, "Mr. Quincy!"
Adrian Quincy paused briefly, turning to glance at her. His cold, aloof gaze didn’t linger on her for long before he looked away and continued forward.
He was heading in Claire Sinclair’s direction.
Soon, the man was standing before Claire Sinclair. He casually reached out, wrapped an arm around her, and lowered his head to place a gentle kiss on her forehead.
The sight left everyone stunned.
"Who the hell told me they broke up?!"
"I could just kill whoever started that rumor!"
"I was not prepared for that sudden dose of PDA..."
Adrian Quincy straightened up. His gaze softened as he looked at his wife, and he said in a low voice, "What text message? Let me see."
Claire Sinclair quickly took out her phone and showed him the message.
After reading it, Adrian Quincy’s expression barely changed. He simply said, "We’ll deal with this after the wedding."
Claire Sinclair was worried. "You’re not concerned?"
"We’ll deal with this after the wedding," the man repeated.
