Chapter 155: When Monsters Fight
BOOM!
They vanished. The stage didn’t just crack this time; it collapsed inward from the sheer force of their takeoff as two blurs collided at the center.
BANG!
A shockwave exploded outward, sending dust, stone, and fragments of the arena floor flying in all directions. The audience closest to the stage instinctively raised their guards as the wind pressure slammed into them like a wall.
At the center of it, FIST met FIST.
Bahamut’s grin stretched wide, feral and excited, his muscles coiling as he pushed forward. Gabi’s expression twisted from nervousness into something raw and instinctive, his lips parting slightly as a low growl escaped his throat.
CRACK!
The ground beneath their feet shattered again. Neither of them gave way. They moved Like two beasts that refused to yield.
BAM! BAM! BAM!
Blows rained down in rapid succession, fists slamming into arms, shoulders, ribs. No technique, no refinement, just raw, brutal exchanges that shook the air with every impact. Bahamut ducked low, driving his shoulder into Gabi’s abdomen.
BOOM!
Gabi was sent skidding back, his feet tearing through the stone, leaving deep grooves behind, but before he could even stabilize...
WHOOSH!
Bahamut was already there. A fist came crashing toward Gabi’s face. Gabi tilted his head just enough: the punch grazed past, and his own hand snapped forward.
SMACK!
His palm slammed into Bahamut’s chest with terrifying force. The sound echoed like a drum of war. Bahamut’s body bent slightly... then snapped back into place. His grin widened.
"You hit hard!"
Gabi’s eyes gleamed, something wild flickering within them.
"You too!"
They clashed again. Just instinct working. Gabi lunged, his movements sharp and sudden, his slender frame exploding with power that didn’t match his appearance. His fists came like snapping jaws, fast and direct.
Bahamut met him head-on.
Their bodies collided again and again, each hit heavier than the last, each exchange pushing the limits of their physical forms.
CRASH!
Gabi drove his knee upward. Bahamut twisted, catching it with his forearm, then slammed his elbow down toward Gabi’s shoulder.
THUD!
The impact forced Gabi down to one knee. The stage cracked beneath him. But his hand shot up.
He caught Bahamut’s wrist mid-swing. For a split second, they locked eyes. Then both smiled madly.
BOOM!
They exploded apart again, only to crash back together instantly.
Dust rose in thick clouds around them as their movements blurred, their bodies weaving, striking, colliding like wild animals fighting for dominance.
A punch landed on Bahamut’s jaw. His head snapped to the side. Another struck his ribs.
CRACK!
A faint sound of something giving way, but Bahamut didn’t stop. He stepped in.
SMASH!
His forehead slammed into Gabi’s: a brutal headbutt that echoed across the arena. Gabi staggered, but didn’t fall. Instead, he laughed, a shaky, breathless laugh. Blood trickled from his nose, but his eyes burned brighter.
"I’ve... never felt this before..."
Bahamut rolled his shoulders, blood dripping from his lip as his grin remained.
"Then don’t stop now!"
Gabi lunged again, faster and stronger this time. His body moved like a coiled spring unleashed, his limbs striking from angles that seemed almost unnatural. Bahamut responded in kind. Their fight became chaos. No rhythm. No pattern. Just destruction.
The arena floor was no longer a stage; it was a crater forming beneath their feet. Every step broke something. Every strike shattered stone. The very air trembled with the force they generated.
Gabi spun, his leg whipping around.
WHAM!
It slammed into Bahamut’s side, sending him flying. He tore through the remains of the stage, rolling across the broken ground.
Silence for half a second.
Then...
BOOM!
Bahamut shot back like a cannonball. His fist drove forward. Gabi crossed his arms.
BANG!
The impact sent him sliding back violently, his feet digging trenches into the ground. Both of them were breathing heavily now, their bodies bruised, bleeding, and shaking, but neither stopped.
Not even for a moment. They rushed each other again. Fist met flesh. Bone met bone. Pain meant nothing. All that mattered was the clash. Gabi’s claws scraped across Bahamut’s shoulder, tearing flesh. Bahamut grabbed him by the arm and slammed him into the ground. The ground broke. Gabi twisted, kicking upward, sending Bahamut stumbling.
They rolled. They rose. They struck again. Like beasts, like monsters. In the stands, silence had taken over. No one spoke. No one moved. Even the elders watched with sharp, focused gazes. Because this... This wasn’t a duel anymore.
This was something else. Something raw, something dangerous.
At the center of the destruction...
Gabi staggered slightly, his breath uneven, his body trembling from the strain. Bahamut stood a few meters away, his chest rising and falling, his grin still present but sharper now, more intense.
Their eyes locked again. No words were needed. They both knew this wasn’t over. Not even close... And as they both crouched again, the ground beneath them cracked once more.
BOOM!
They launched at each other again. This duel had no intention of ending quietly. They collided again. This time, there was no restraint left: just pure, desperate force.
Gabi’s body moved like a snapping serpent, his arms lashing out with frightening speed, each strike carrying enough power to crush bone. Bahamut met him head-on, his own blows heavier, more brutal, every hit sounding like a hammer crashing against iron.
BANG! CRACK! THUD!
Their bodies slammed into each other again and again, neither yielding, neither retreating. Gabi ducked low, his fist driving straight into Bahamut’s stomach.
BOOM!
Air burst from Bahamut’s lungs as his body bent forward, but his hand shot down instantly. He caught Gabi by the shoulder.
SMASH!
He slammed his knee into Gabi’s chest. The impact echoed. Gabi’s body lifted slightly off the ground, but he didn’t stop. His hand snapped up...
CRACK!
His fingers dug into Bahamut’s side, drawing blood as he twisted and drove his elbow into Bahamut’s jaw.
SMACK!
Bahamut’s head snapped back. Both of them staggered. Both of them bled, but they smiled.
"You’re... insane..." Gabi breathed, his voice shaking, his body trembling from exhaustion.
Bahamut wiped the blood from his mouth with the back of his hand, his grin still there, though his breathing had grown heavy.
"You too..."
They stood there for a moment, broken, bruised, and barely standing. Then, they moved again, but slower and heavier. Every step carried weight now. Every movement dragged.
Gabi lunged first. His fist came straight for Bahamut’s face. Bahamut didn’t dodge. He stepped in.
CRACK!
The punch landed. His head snapped to the side, but his body didn’t move. Instead, his hand came forward.
THUD!
His fist sank deep into Gabi’s abdomen. Time seemed to pause. Gabi’s eyes widened. A silent gasp escaped his lips as the strength behind that single blow traveled through his entire body. His legs gave out. His arms dropped. The light in his eyes flickered, and his body collapsed forward.
Bahamut caught him before he hit the ground. For a moment... everything was silent. No cheers. No gasps. Just the sound of two exhausted breaths.
Bahamut stood there, barely upright, holding Gabi’s limp body, his own arms shaking from the strain.
"You almost had me," he muttered quietly.
His grin had faded. What remained was something softer. Something genuine. Gabi, barely conscious, let out a faint, shaky laugh.
"I’ll... win next time..."
Bahamut huffed weakly.
"I’ll be waiting."
He gently lowered him to the ground and took a step back, almost falling. His legs trembled violently before he forced himself to stand straight, though it was clear to anyone watching that he had nothing left. Not even a drop.
Elder Hakar’s voice rang out across the silent arena.
"Winner... Bahamut!"
The moment the words dropped, the arena erupted into cheers, shouts, and disbelief, but Bahamut didn’t react. He simply stood there, breathing heavily, his body swaying slightly as he stared down at Gabi.
"Definitely a monster," he whispered.
From the stands, Sel exhaled slowly, a grin on his face.
"Told you..."
Ren chuckled from his shoulder.
"Yeah... we’re keeping that one."
Exildra and Lily watched in silence, their eyes fixed on Bahamut with understanding. Because what they had just witnessed... wasn’t just a duel. It was the birth of something dangerous, and it had only just begun.
