The Psychopathic Beast Emperor

Chapter 148: Premise to Tier 2.

After the episode with the chimera cores, Bahamut had grown stronger. Now, checking his system stats, he couldn’t help but be shocked. His earlier stats were according to human standards, but they had changed to what a chimera’s own looks like, and although it seemed as if he’d started all over, he could feel the power inside him. It wasn’t fresh... it was advancement.

His attributes had evolved into super attributes, the reason for the low numbers, but those numbers were an indication of a new beginning. He was no longer a human with some special trait, but a full-fledged chimera... cub. It was only right that he got stats on that. The chimera cores had done a whole lot to increase his overall stats and attributes. Even his skills had advanced by a level each. The only things that didn’t change were his affinities.

He didn’t know how to go about them, but from what he knew, getting 50% and above in an affinity was enough to form an elemental core and become a Tier 2, officially. All his affinities had 50 or above, with the exception of Light. He had to find a way to increase his light affinity, but without the help of anyone. He wanted to keep the number of affinities secret from people.

Having one affinity was the norm. Having two was considered very talented. Three was very rare, but six? Six was unknown, and he was obviously the first with six affinities, equating to six elements. Six elements could get him scrutinized or worshipped. He could either be seen as a chosen one or the devil.

Each one of them had its advantages and disadvantages, but he wasn’t ready to experience any hell on earth... yet. He had experienced that a lot of times now. Even if he’d grown immune to it somehow, he could never forget what he experienced.

’System? Is there a way to increase affinities?’ Bahamut asked the system. He was currently sleeping under a tree with Exildra beside him, drawing circles on his chest, and Alana playing with shadows by the side.

[Replying Host...]

[There are ways to increase one’s affinity to an element. There are affinity stones, elemental domains, and self-increment.

Affinity stones are elemental stones that contain a specific elemental energy. They can help you increase your affinity for a specific element you possess. They can only be found in elemental domains and are expensive. They also come in tiers. The tier determines how powerful it is.

Elemental domains are environments that hold a single element, or at most two elements. These environments contain very strong elemental energy or mana and can be used for both increasing affinity and also help one advance in element levels. These domains can be anywhere. For example, volcanic regions are fire domains, the sea is a water domain, the mountain can be for earth, ice, or lightning, and many more such elements.

Self-increment is based on identity. It is driven by emotions and character. Take, for example, Sel. He is mostly calm and gentle... This is like the wind element or the plant element. This is based on his character. Someone with a fiery or hot temper would obviously have a relation to the fire element. But this method is very rare. Only one out of a hundred people has this method. After all, it is a passive method.]

’So what do you suggest?’

[Nothing...]

’Huh?’

[You still think... no. You still see yourself as a human, a mortal, but you are not. You are different. You are a singularity, an eldritch. The normal ways do not apply to you, mostly. You are a chimera. You take on many beast traits...]

’Wait! Do you mean to say I can use my traits to increase my affinities?’

[Yes. You have the crimson fox for fire, the radiant king for light, sand wyrm, and even a darkness domain of your own.]

’Darkness domain... Alana!’

[Exactly.]

’Why didn’t I know of this before?’

[You just asked.]

’...’

[I suggest you push all your affinities to 100% before you form their cores, but that means you must train your body to be stronger. Because of this, the suppressors will also increase their suppression.]

’Hold up! Who decided that?!’

[As your guide, I’m taking into consideration what would help you more. It wasn’t decided. It is what is happening to you. Whether you like it or not.]

’You sound like an autocratic leader.’

[That is just your imagination...]

’...This...’

"Bahamut? Babe?"

"Hmm?" Bahamut turned to Exildra, who looked at him with worry in her eyes.

"Is everything alright? You look... blank and lost," Exildra said in a worried tone.

"I am fine. I was just thinking of the way forward... By the way, what tier are you currently in?"

"What way forward exactly? And I’m at Tier 1, Circle of Mind."

"I meant tier advancement. Nothing much. Circle of Mind... Damn! How are you so powerful?"

"You are one to talk about power. Hmph!"

"I won’t say I’m not proud of myself. I’m that awesome."

"Narcissist!"

"Cute."

"Ugh!"

"So, about Lily..." Bahamut stated in a quiet voice.

"You like her, don’t you?" Exildra asked with a triumphant smirk.

"Don’t... I like her."

"Finally! So what are you going to do?"

"I don’t know..."

"Mm... We can work something out. I’ll help you."

"Why are you so enthusiastic about this?"

"Let’s just say, I don’t want you to go berserk so easily again. At least, you will think of those you love and trust and even if you do go berserk, you will still remember us."

"What if..."

"It will work. Now kiss me!"

"What?"

"KISS ME NOW!"

"I like this side of you more..." Bahamut smirked and devoured Exildra’s lips.
