How I Tame My Valkyrie Harem

We slowly removed the manhole cover, trying to make as little noise as possible. Fortunately, the spot where we entered the Silver Fang Battalion’s compound was just as I remembered it from the book.

There were no guards at this spot, so it was a blind spot in their defenses. However, from that point onwards, there should have been several guards, as though we had spawned in an area packed with monsters.

I used Hawk Eyes the moment I reached the surface. I expected to see the place full of soldiers standing at the ready.

And they were there. There were indeed several Silver Fang soldiers dressed in gleaming silver armor, their swords sheathed, scattered throughout the corridors, along the building’s walls, and across the open courtyard.

But they weren’t standing guard. They were all lying unconscious on the ground.

"Are they all... sleeping?"

"What?"

I couldn’t answer Diane. Something was definitely wrong. My eyes swept across the entire building, and most of the soldiers were asleep.

"Let’s go!" I was still holding Diane’s hand so I wouldn’t lose her.

I headed towards the open courtyard. Meanwhile, I scanned the area, and wherever I directed Hawk Eyes, the result was the same.

The dormitory, the corridors, the cafeteria—you name it. The soldiers were all asleep, some sitting on the floor and others with their faces buried in their plates of food. Wherever I looked, the members of Silver Fang were fast asleep.

"Oh my, it seems our guest of honor has finally arrived."

There were only a few exceptions—people who were still awake. They were standing on top of the building, the five figures looking down at us.

"He really thinks his invisibility trick is going to work. How pathetic, don’t you think?"

Something changed within my field of vision. The translucent appearance granted to my body by Darkness Walker was being dispelled.

The witch I had once met spoke rather casually to her allies.

"Seriously? After all the trouble I went through to reserve this place for us..." said a girl with twin tails and violet eyes.

I couldn’t believe what I was seeing. My heart beat faster at the sight of the girl before me. In the original story, two Night Apostles had come closest to Rick: the one who killed him and Margott, the woman who captured him. Despite her youthful appearance, she couldn’t be underestimated.

"Hey, your cheap trick isn’t going to work! You’ve been caught! Now come over here and face me like a man, you coward!"

The Battalion leader—a member of the Night Apostles in his spare time—was there, with his sword resting on one shoulder like some kind of delinquent.

I had nothing against him, but I had to agree with the other characters in the story. Nobody who knew him liked him. I had only been looking at him for a few seconds, and I already disliked the guy.

And beside him stood the final two figures.

"Perfect!" said the man on top of the building. "Tonight is the perfect opportunity to train my beast! Finally, with the new drug I gave her, she’ll definitely fight... WHILE OBEYING ME, OF COURSE!!"

He roared as he kicked the creature beside him. It looked like a fusion of a werewolf and a bodybuilder, and it could surely tear Byron in half with a single blow, but the creature didn’t move an inch.

If I remembered correctly, he really did have this monster in SCRL, but Sarah killed it in battle, and Byron was next.

This was the group we would be up against. Our invisibility was useless, and they were ready to attack us at any moment.

"Gather!" I used my skill without a second thought. I didn’t summon just one Valkyrie, but every Valkyrie available, dispelling my invisibility in the process.

"Rick... Hmm?" Sarah materialized in front of me. Instinctively, she looked up and realized it was time to fight. She drew her sword.

"Girls, prepare for battle," I said without taking my eyes off the enemies in front of me. "I was hoping to settle this quietly, but unfortunately, that doesn’t seem possible. We’ll have to face every one of them before we go after Leo."

"Understood," I heard my Valkyries reply in unison, and a second later, I leaped into battle.

"Finally!" I heard an excited male voice, followed by the sound of something slicing through the air above my head.

In an instant, Laios clashed head-on with me, his sword striking mine. I felt the hairs on my hand stand on end the moment his blade met mine.

Electricity. His abilities were based on electrical power, increasing both the strength of his attacks and his speed. It was this power that had allowed him to defeat the fastest man in the country.

"Hey, you’re the strongest one in your group, aren’t you?" he said, staring at me with a crazed smile.

"That’s right," I said firmly, keeping my wrist steady.

I wouldn’t yield even a single step, not even against an enemy this strong.

"Excellent! I’d be disappointed if you were weaker than those beauties over there." He sounded far too happy for someone bearing down on me with murderous intent. "At least don’t bore me to death, got it?"

"I could say the same to you, God of Thunder."

"Ho, you know who I am? It seems my name really is carried on the four winds. Unfortunately for you, though, I don’t care about male fans. Only women interest me."

"As if I’d ever be your fan!"

I shoved his sword back to create enough room to attack him. I didn’t need a large window of opportunity. With my skills, a single opening was enough for me to cut my way through my enemies.

After all, he wasn’t the only one with electrical power at his disposal.

"Thunderblade." Half a second after breaking away from him, my sword came down diagonally across his chest, and he stared at the wound in surprise.

Unfortunately, that wasn’t enough to kill a monster like him. A psychotic grin replaced his look of surprise.

Delight filled his voice as he said, "Interesting! It seems that after all this time, I’ll finally get a real fight!"
