Chapter 740 - 314: Master, Save Me (Part 2)
This was how she had suffered such a great loss last time.
BOOM!
Ignoring the risk, Chu Lingguang slashed his sword toward the Heavenly Mirror.
Andenuk raised the Heavenly Mirror, blocking Chu Lingguang’s terrifying slash.
The mirror trembled as Andenuk’s body plummeted from the sky. But in that same moment, the mirror caught Chu Lingguang’s reflection, his face appearing within it.
A strange, penetrating wave of power emanated from the mirror, surging toward Chu Lingguang’s mind.
Chu Lingguang sensed danger.
He hastily unleashed his fifth-order Telekinesis to form a powerful barrier. This power, seeming both solid and liquid, completely enveloped him.
Although the special wave emanating from the Heavenly Mirror could penetrate Chu Lingguang’s Telekinesis, it took time to do so.
For the moment, Chu Lingguang’s mind was unaffected.
Seizing the opportunity, he directed his Flying Sword to strike at the falling Andenuk’s vitals.
He had to kill Andenuk while he had the chance.
Andenuk was horrified.
This was the first time he’d ever seen anyone block the Heavenly Mirror’s Magic Power.
Although Chu Lingguang’s twelfth-level Qi Refining cultivation was daunting, he had the Heavenly Mirror—a tool that allowed the weak to defeat the strong.
Previously, Li Qiushui, who was at the same level as Chu Lingguang and also from the Profound Celestial Sect, had been no match for him.
’So what if Chu Lingguang himself has come?’
’I can’t believe the Heavenly Mirror can’t even harm Chu Lingguang.’
On top of that, Chu Lingguang had actually knocked him out of the sky. The feeling drove him mad. ’Am I really no match for Yan Zhen? If I can’t even defeat Chu Lingguang, how can I ever hope to challenge him?’
At this thought,
Andenuk became furious. He raised the Heavenly Mirror and took another of Chu Lingguang’s sword strikes head-on.
For this strike, Chu Lingguang had fused his Gold and Fire Spiritual Power to control the Flying Sword as it stabbed the Heavenly Mirror. Unfortunately, this fused Spiritual Power didn’t resonate with the Flying Sword; it was merely controlling it, failing to unleash its full potential.
Andenuk was sent plummeting from the sky, but he still managed to block Chu Lingguang’s fatal strike with the Heavenly Mirror.
He then quickly put some distance between himself and Chu Lingguang.
Just then, the power radiating from the Heavenly Mirror finally penetrated Chu Lingguang’s Telekinesis defenses.
It then seeped into his mind.
This power was originally immense, enough to cause excruciating pain or even make someone faint on the spot.
But by the time it broke through his Telekinesis Barrier, it had lost most of its potency. Now, though it had entered his Sea of Consciousness, it couldn’t break through the protective ring of light around it.
It was like a fist hitting a barrier of air.
Despite the violent tremor, the person inside remained unharmed thanks to the barrier before them.
This was precisely Chu Lingguang’s situation.
’I thought that even if being struck by the Heavenly Mirror’s light didn’t make me faint, I’d at least be dizzy and disoriented. I was even ready to retreat.’
’I never expected that after being filtered by my Telekinesis Barrier, the power wouldn’t even be strong enough to break through the defensive light of my Sea of Consciousness.’
Instead, he watched as the power blossomed against the ring of light around his Sea of Consciousness.
As it did, unique ripples and frequencies appeared in his Sea of Consciousness. It was as if he could see the very principles by which the Heavenly Mirror operated.
From these principles, he gained a profound, unseen understanding.
This understanding was peculiar.
It was difficult to put into words.
Chu Lingguang couldn’t articulate it, but suddenly, matters of cultivation seemed far more transparent to him.
He had never been able to get his fused Gold and Fire Spiritual Power to properly merge with his Flying Sword.
When he used the Sword Control Technique, even though both powers would erupt, it felt like he was controlling the Flying Sword with brute force. He lacked that feeling of perfect synergy, where a single impulse would move the whole.
It felt as though the Flying Sword wasn’t truly one with him.
Though he commanded it, he could feel a force of resistance from within the blade itself.
The peculiar sensation was so frustrating he almost wanted to discard the Flying Sword altogether.
But now, the power from the Heavenly Mirror, blooming just outside his Sea of Consciousness... the waves it created in the process were like opening a brand-new world for him.
BANG!
And so, as Andenuk slammed into the ground,
and sank into the grassy earth,
Chu Lingguang focused on the Flying Sword hovering in the air. He once again manipulated his Gold and Fire Spiritual Power, attempting to create a resonance with the blade.
The moment the two powers swept out from his palm, they fused into a single, grayish-white energy.
This grayish-white energy could be applied to the Flying Sword, but it failed to resonate with it. There was some kind of barrier between them, greatly diminishing Chu Lingguang’s power.
’I feel like I’ve already cultivated the Sword Control Technique to the Perfection stage.’
’With my twelfth-level Qi Refining cultivation, my Sword Control Technique shouldn’t be this weak. The Heavenly Mirror is strong, but it’s only a high-grade Yellow Level Magical Artifact. Even if I can’t shatter it in one blow, I should at least gain the upper hand after a few strikes.’
With this doubt in mind,
he brought the fused, grayish-white power into contact with the Flying Sword once more.
In that instant,
Chu Lingguang felt a suction force emanate from within the Flying Sword, pulling the grayish-white power in and holding it fast. He could feel a shared ’breath’ between the sword itself and the fused Spiritual Power.
This shared breath signified the resonance of the two.
In that one moment,
The grayish-white power was absorbed by the Flying Sword. It was no longer a matter of using brute force to coat the blade.
SWOOSH!
The two Spiritual Powers had finally achieved resonance with the Flying Sword.
The Flying Sword shot straight down,
aiming for Andenuk’s vitals.
As the Flying Sword plunged toward Andenuk, the blade itself began to undergo a terrifying transformation.
As if being tempered by the flames of an Artifact Refiner, the Flying Sword erupted with the sound of wind and thunder, laced with layers of fire.
The flames flickered like lightning, terrifying and strange, as if they could tear the very sky asunder.
Chu Lingguang stood high above.
He looked down upon the lands of the National Border.
From his vantage point, Andenuk on the ground below looked incredibly small.
Andenuk scrambled to his feet. Facing the unstoppable, diving sword, he gave it his all, raising the Heavenly Mirror and shooting forth a beam of white light.
This beam of light resonated with the Five Elements Power.
It seemed to form a powerful defense, capable of withstanding a thunderclap.
BOOM!
The Flying Sword slammed into the white beam.
From his position in the sky, Chu Lingguang could clearly sense the Five Elements Power within the beam. It seemed to resonate with the Heavenly Mirror, allowing the artifact to command it, but the powers themselves were not fused.
Though five powers made up the single beam,
if you looked closely, each power was acting independently.
As the saying goes, cultivation is about awakening power through resonance and breaking the body’s shackles through fusion.
The Heavenly Mirror could resonate with the Five Elements Power, but it couldn’t fuse with them, let alone cause the Five Elements Power to fuse with one another.
The power it could unleash was far weaker than Chu Lingguang had imagined.
Right now, he had only fused his Gold and Fire Spiritual Power with his Flying Sword. But fusion was superior to mere resonance, and superior to simple power awakening.
To Chu Lingguang’s enlightened eyes, the terrifying white beam was riddled with flaws.
It only held back the Flying Sword for a moment before crumbling under the blade’s power—a power that carried the roar of thunder and the fury of fire.
BOOM!
The white beam disintegrated.
The expressions of the soldiers on both sides froze.
The Great Yuan Soldiers were ecstatic. They had cheered when Chu Lingguang showed his might and knocked Andenuk from the sky, but they had also been sweating bullets for him, as they hadn’t yet seen Andenuk use his Five Elements Power.
Then, that white beam had appeared.
And now, it had been utterly crushed by Chu Lingguang’s Flying Sword.
They finally realized that Andenuk had lost. Chu Lingguang was going to win.
BOOM!
The Flying Sword tore through with unstoppable force as the white light continuously collapsed before it.
CLANG!
Finally, the white light vanished, and the Flying Sword once again struck the face of the Heavenly Mirror. Andenuk, who held the mirror up to defend himself, felt his feet sink deep into the grassy earth.
He could feel the power within the Heavenly Mirror scattering.
’Chu Lingguang’s Flying Sword... it might actually be able to pierce the Heavenly Mirror!’
He screamed in desperation, "Master, save me!"
