Chu Lingguang was sure his perception was correct.

After Zhang Xuan pulverized the vine, he used his Spiritual Power to absorb it into his body.

’If fusing with the vine turns you into a demon, then wouldn’t devouring it do the same?’

Li Mao asked.

"Zhang devoured the vine."

Chu Lingguang said.

Li Mao was startled, apparently not expecting Chu Lingguang to notice.

"These underground vines are formed from a single, contaminated Immortal Vine. While we Practitioners can’t fuse with them, we can crush them and absorb their power."

"It’s like how you can eat an animal’s meat, but you can’t merge with the animal itself,"

Zhang Xuan explained.

"Zhang is right. But Junior Brother Chu, your cultivation is weaker, so it’s not a good idea to casually refine the power within the vines. If any demonic aura lingers, it could cause you needless trouble,"

Li Mao warned.

"Is that so."

Chu Lingguang recalled the vine root that had nearly fused with Xie Xiaohuan before he crushed it. ’Why couldn’t I sense any power fluctuations from it back then?’

"Let’s go. We’ll keep searching elsewhere."

Zhang Xuan didn’t explain further, openly admitting that he had devoured the power within the vine.

Chu Lingguang desperately wanted to use his Telekinesis to probe Zhang Xuan’s body and examine his condition, but with his current level of strength, that was impossible.

Even though he had obtained a beginner’s Telekinesis technique, with its proficiency nearly at fifty percent, and also had the Qi Condensation Technique Cultivation Method, he was still no match for Zhang Xuan and Li Mao.

But Zhang Xuan’s actions had opened up a whole new world of possibilities for Chu Lingguang.

Chu Lingguang used his Void Technique to detect a strange aura underground. He located a bizarre object that had already been discovered by a weasel.

The weasel was startled.

But Chu Lingguang grabbed it.

A Vortex Power appeared in each of his palms, grinding the vine root to dust. It became a green powder that floated in the air.

He then circulated his Spiritual Power, forming a mist-like Gang Shield that enveloped the green powder. He was attempting to absorb and refine it.

’If Zhang Xuan and Li Mao can absorb and refine this, I refuse to believe I can’t.’

His Qi Condensation Technique began to circulate on its own.

The Spiritual Power he released possessed a refining quality, and the green powder began to vanish before his very eyes.

Li Mao sensed the commotion and hurried over, arriving just in time to see Chu Lingguang devouring the bizarre object.

He was shocked to see that Chu Lingguang’s Spiritual Power possessed such a strong refining quality.

He discovered a vine root in his Star System.

The vine root was the only point of green light in his Star System, making the once silent and desolate space seem as though life had finally appeared.

This strange new sensation left Chu Lingguang momentarily stunned.

"Junior Brother Chu, how do you feel?"

Li Mao asked.

He was astonished to see Chu Lingguang not only devour the vine root but absorb it completely.

His thoughts returned to the Spiritual Root.

’Could someone with a Spiritual Root really be this outrageous? Able to convert Spiritual Power at will, create a Star System, and even absorb and refine these bizarre objects without the aid of a Cultivation Technique?’

Chu Lingguang said after a moment of hesitation.

Li Mao said in shock.

"If it was absorbed and refined, why did it form a vine inside my Star System?"

Chu Lingguang was confused.

"When life emerges within one’s power—be it Spiritual Power, Telekinesis, Sea of Consciousness Power, or even Spiritual Sense—all of them become enhanced as if they’ve received a boon. The more life, the greater the enhancement,"

Li Mao explained.

"So that’s it..."

Chu Lingguang was lost in thought. A possibility occurred to him. ’Could it be that Yuanchu Mountain stops people from fusing with these bizarre objects so they can monopolize this life force to enhance their own cultivation?’

"Junior Brother, don’t overthink it. While these bizarre objects can be refined and absorbed, it’s extremely dangerous to try without sufficient strength. Extending his Spiritual Sense, he saw the vine in his Star System burst with green light. As his Spiritual Power flowed past it and gathered in his palm, Chu Lingguang could feel that it was indeed a tiny bit stronger than before.
