As Chu Lingguang’s Spear Technique closed in, Zhuoyi also felt two different forces assaulting him.

The first was the covering Potential Energy inherent in the first layer of the Flying Leaf Lotus Spear’s Thrust. With every Thrust Chu Lingguang made, Zhuoyi perceived eleven or twelve spear afterimages striking at him.

That was right.

In his state of "Thoughts Reach Far and Wide" and with his Spear Technique value at Perfection, Chu Lingguang’s strength was growing at a rapid pace. If he continued to develop at this rate, it wouldn’t be more than a few days before a single Thrust from his spear would possess the essential power of the technique, achieving a coverage area of eighteen attacks.

He just didn’t know if he could practice it to the absolute limit, completely covering the three-foot space in front of him with his attacks. If he could, he had no idea how long that would take.

Besides the power of the covering spear afterimages, which made Zhuoyi feel a tangible Attack Power, there was another, invisible force. Every time Chu Lingguang thrust his Long Spear, Zhuoyi’s own blood would pulse violently.

Zhuoyi was horrified to discover this.

When facing the moves head-on, every Thrust from Chu Lingguang’s spear seemed to possess the power to injure from a distance. As the number of spear afterimages before him grew, Zhuoyi found the pulsing of his blood growing more and more intense.

He, who had originally been dodging effortlessly with his hands behind his back, couldn’t help but quicken his pace, trying to break free from the range of Chu Lingguang’s Spear Technique.

But then he remembered that he had taken it upon himself to guide Chu Lingguang. If he moved away from Chu Lingguang’s attack range, wouldn’t that be breaking his promise?

It would also be a loss of face.

No matter how you looked at it, he was an expert who had succeeded in Opening the Dantian and Qi Sea.

So, Zhuoyi continued to keep himself within Chu Lingguang’s attack range. Although none of the spear afterimages could harm him, that strange, invisible power transmitting into his body and making his blood pulse faster was slowly starting to make him uncomfortable.

He had no choice but to circulate his qi to resist it.

He controlled a Qi Vortex from his Dantian to circulate through his blood. With the support of this Qi Vortex, the pulsing of his blood finally began to slow.

However, after maintaining it for a while, his continuous exposure to that power caused the pulsing of his blood to slowly increase again, as if a needle were trying to pierce his veins.

Zhuoyi had no choice but to control another Qi Vortex from his Dantian Qi Sea and circulate it through his blood.

From Chu Lingguang’s perspective,

no matter how elegant or fast each of his thrusts were, the man before him, Zhuoyi, always kept his hands behind his back and dodged his every attack with incredible ease.

Awe and respect filled his heart.

As he utilized his Dragon Elephant Power and the Qi Vortex Power from his abdomen, the might of every spear Thrust from Chu Lingguang gradually increased.

In Zhuoyi’s eyes, every Thrust from Chu Lingguang still produced only twelve spear afterimages, just as before. Even though the afterimages had become more substantial and were accompanied by the sounds of a Dragon’s Roar and Elephant’s Wail, he could still easily neutralize them.

But the invisible force that felt like steel needles striking his blood vessels had also been strengthened as Chu Lingguang went all out.

Zhuoyi was truly at a loss. He had promised to guide Chu Lingguang, so he couldn’t proactively attack him. His only option was to draw more Qi Vortexes into his blood to circulate, reinforcing his blood vessels with a new layer of power.

Unfortunately,

it didn’t last long.

Passively defending all this time, he once again felt a needle-like sting in his blood vessels.

Eventually, Zhuoyi couldn’t stop himself from wanting to retreat and leave the area covered by Chu Lingguang’s attacks.

As Chu Lingguang thrust forward, he sensed that Zhuoyi wanted to break out of his Spear Technique’s range of coverage. He instinctively assumed that the other man thought he wasn’t fast enough and wanted him to keep up.

So, he used a focal point of the Unity of Man and Gun, stirring up a wave of power. He wanted to first Lock Zhuoyi in place while rapidly closing in on him.

The man was kind enough to guide him.

During the exchange, Chu Lingguang didn’t have to worry about being hurt by Zhuoyi at all, so he pressed forward fearlessly.

This was something that would never happen in a normal fight.

’You little brat, are you getting addicted to this?’

Zhuoyi cursed inwardly.

As Chu Lingguang rapidly closed in, he couldn’t help but quicken his pace and retreat. With his strength, he could have quickly escaped the area of coverage, leaving Chu Lingguang unable to catch up.

’But if I completely withdraw, how could I explain it to Chu Lingguang?’

’What if Chu Lingguang thinks I’m scared or that I can’t defend against him? Wouldn’t I become a laughingstock?’
