Trash of a Wealthy Family: My Gacha System Guarantees S-Rank Rewards

Chapter 60 | Requiem of the Damned – 2

[Aiden’s POV]

TWHACK!

The body of the monster slammed the ground, and a second later, its body started turning black as if it was burned from inside. This was the last monster of the group that attacked me while I was on the hunt.

Checking the metal plank, I saw my score—1600. I had been hunting for 3-4 hours now. I had no way to check the scores of others, so I didn’t want to slow down.

The gain in origin points was also decent, but it was nowhere near the efficiency of Graves of Thirty Steps. I also made a mental note to find dungeons with such dense monster populations later.

The Sandramoor Wild was much larger than I initially thought. I had covered much distance in search of monster packs, but I haven’t come across other participants. Although some sounds of fighting did reach my ears, nothing else did.

My senses were much better tuned and covered a large distance. Increased stats with my physiology combined with the vampire trait helped me to track monsters easily; I also kept my eyes and ears open to any attack.

As I was running while checking out the surroundings, a group of monsters caught my radar, and I turned towards them. My range was about half a km, so I reached the location in a few seconds.

A group of seven monsters appeared before me; Insight Eye provided me with information.

[Name: Corven Wolf]

[Rank: Grandmaster (Nascent)]

[Threat: Very low]

The other 6 were the same, but they were in master rank. They growled as they saw me eyeing them. Their body had yellow stripes all over their body, which gave them a peculiar appearance.

The wolf from the right, master rank, jumped at me with intent to bite me. I saw his every move easily.

Just as he neared, I turned sideways slightly and extended my fingers into claws. A racial skill of vampires, including small blood magic.

As the wolf went with the flow, missing me entirely, I swiped my blood-covered claw diagonally, almost severing him in two. He fell down, whimpering as he bled to death.

Looking at their teammate get clawed in one strike, hesitation was visible in the eyes of the monster.

Just then the leader, Grandmaster rank, howled loudly, possibly summoning more wolves.

A smile formed on my face. "Thanks for the points," I said as I covered my right arm in whitish flames and attacked the weakest of them, charring him in one strike.

As I took out two more of them, 5 corven wolves joined the attack. They were not threatening, but still I finished them fast without letting them gang up.

After eliminating about 40 more wolves, the reinforcement stopped coming. Without giving another thought, I moved ahead to gather more points.

However, I had covered only a small distance when a group of five people appeared in my tracks.

"What do we have here? Does he matches the description, Roland?" a man holding a twin-edged sword spoke.

"Looks like it; he is the closest match according to the description," another man wearing a mage robe answered.

"Would you guys surrender? I don’t want to kill you needlessly," I questioned.

"Look at this guy; I think he doesn’t know how to count. We are five, and you are alone, pretty guy," a slim man holding a sword on his shoulder with swag spoke.

"Ahh...I asked," I spoke as I streaked towards the guy wearing a mage robe in the back.

His eyes widened as he didn’t expect an attack this fast. I coated my fist in the Nullification ability to bypass any defensive skill.

He was not able to even defend properly as my fist connected to his chest, sending him flying. He got strung on a branch of the tree in the back that protruded outwards and got killed in the process.

"Roland! You bastard..." the man holding the twin-edged sword shouted; however, I reached him before he could finish.

"Too late," I muttered.

An uppercut to his jaw with my nullification-coated hands. Sends him flying backwards.

Their team became disoriented, as two of their members were out, with one being dead.

"Sinko, fire your goddamn spell. Rinard, let’s attack together," the man who was holding the sword with swag barked out the order, trying to get control of the situation.

Moving on to the next member, I activated Solar Breaker and punched one straight into the gut.

He fell down clutching his stomach, and the next second, his stomach burst, killing him in the process.

The other guy, Rinard, started fumbling as I clawed his chest and crushed his heart. Using vampire skills was much more effective against him than any monsters I faced.

"Bastard, who the hell are..." The swag swordsman tried to speak. I punched him with the Solar Breaker skill, putting in more mana than usual.

After my fist connected with his chest, he was also sent flying. But before he could strike the ground, his chest melted, instantly killing him.

Now, only one member, possibly their leader, was left. I neared him with intent to remove his head, but his earlier conversation struck in my mind.

He was a vampire, so I was thinking of using Blood Authority to get information, but suddenly, I remembered the SS-ranked kill, Soul Brand. Immediately, I focused on using this skill on him.

Within a few moments, I felt a connection forming. He was still unconscious, but I could feel that I could control his actions with my thoughts.

Using this connection, I woke him forcefully. He looked around frantically, only to see his teammates lying around.

"Spare me, please; I don’t want to die..." He started the usual rant of a cornered person.

"What description were you talking about earlier?" I asked, interrupting his plea.

"We were hired by Rhegar Valsard to find Aiden Origin and kill him or at least injure him severely. He paid us 10 A-rank stones for the job," he answered almost like a possessed person.

But his eyes were fearful, because he was probably trying to understand the scenario that happened.

"So, it’s him, but I expected a little more from him," I muttered.

Before he could plead more, I beheaded him with one claw strike.

I had already resolved myself to killing, so I didn’t mind much and moved forward.

"System, do I only get Origin Points if I kill a monster? I noticed this when I killed the members of the organization too but I didn’t asked at thay time. " I questioned.

[I put this feature considering your nature, I could change configuration to receive Origin Points when you kill cultivators too. The points gained will be same as monsters.]

The system explanation brought me to a halt. "Is this really true, system?’ I asked.

[Affirmative, Host. Would you like to change the configuration?]

Standing there in the wild, I thought for about a minute, then decided.

"Yes," I answered, "If I am going to kill, I might as well have a benefit from it."

[Origin Points configuration change...confirmed]

[You can now obtain Origin points by killing cultivators.]

"Hmm...okay," I murmured. Just as I was ready to move, I felt a disturbance in my radar, and my senses flared up.

My body moved without any thought, purely on instinct. A paw struck the place where I was standing. My eyes landed on the attacker, who was able to sneak up on me even with my radar.

[Shade Panther]

[Rank: Grandmaster (Zenith)]

[Threat: Low, but lookout for his sneak attacks.]

"This might be a bit interesting," I spoke.
