Ray walked into his room and immediately wanted to collapse onto his bed.
He was only a metre away from crashing onto it when a golden lasso suddenly shot out, connecting to the arm of his couch. The lasso pulled tight and helped spring him back upright onto his feet.
’Fuck. I almost forgot that I’m covered in some beast blood. I need to shower.’
The golden lasso disintegrated into a rain of sparks as he turned around and headed towards his bathroom.

A few minutes later, Ray emerged with his hair dripping wet, rubbing it vigorously with his towel.
Soon, he walked over to his bed and sat down with a relieved sigh.
His legs practically thanked him after everything he had been through today.
"Well, that was a lot of haul in one day. Got the Ogre King as an Echo, which was a crazy gamble, leveled up a lot of times, which is still shocking because I don’t think I’ve ever seen a novel character level up so fast as I did just now."
He smacked his lips together for a moment before standing back up and walking towards the kitchenette.
Brewing himself a cup of tea, he waited patiently as it prepared.
".... I’m never drinking coffee again. To think that it was just the drive for a cup of coffee that led to such an adventure today. I even got two new skills."
He paused when his tea was ready and poured himself a cup before turning back around and walking towards his bed.
Settling onto the bed, he blew on the steaming cup before taking a sip and letting out a satisfied sigh.

Slowly, his lips curled upward into a knowing smirk as he gently placed his cup of tea to the side.

Excited and eager to give it a try, Ray jumped to his feet and quickly began looking around, his head twisting from side to side until his gaze landed on the pillow lying on his couch.
He lifted his hand towards it, observing the distance of about five metres between himself and the couch. Taking a deep breath, he mentally activated the skill.

His eyes glowed a different shade of grey for a moment, and soon, his outstretched hand began glowing with an invisible grey force that stretched from his shoulder down to his fingertips.
The pillow he was staring at also started glowing with that same invisible grey force before being pulled forward, as if an invisible string had been attached to it and yanked by the Tribrid.
The speed at which it rushed forward was surprisingly great. However, just before the pillow could land in his grasp, Ray flicked his wrist away.
And just like that, with the same speed as before, the pillow shot backward and landed on the couch with a soft thud.
Ray’s eyes gleamed with excitement before he threw his head backward and erupted into a loud cackle.

Ray continually cackled like a hyena, his head thrown back and his hands resting on his stomach.
In his excitement, he didn’t even notice when the door to his room opened and someone stepped inside.
Blinking at the scene before them, the figure looked around before an octopus-like limb made entirely out of mechanical spiders shot forward and grabbed the pillow from earlier.
With a speed almost akin to lightning, the pillow was flung towards the cackling Tribrid.
Sensing danger, his instincts flared up, and he swiftly bent down just in time to avoid the pillow, which crashed into the wall behind him.
He was about to spring into action as the celebratory mood from earlier vanished completely.
Ray was ready to lunge forward when he paused to observe who was standing before him. The moment he recognized the figure, he hissed and straightened back upright.
"What was that about, Van?!"
