Chapter 963: Next In Line.

As time passed by, not only did he fail to free his avatars, but his attempts also induced Entropy within him. When he sensed the rising Entropy, he realized that his attempts were not free to make.

Even when the attempts ended in failure, he still had to pay the price. His only reward for his effort was that after trying to get his avatars to move more times, he came to realize that he had two options.

The first option was to give up now and hope for the best. The second was to keep trying to free his avatars in hopes that the dragon would run out of lifespan or reach its limit of Entropy first.

He didn’t need to think things through at all to know that the second option was the only one with any reliable chance of saving his avatars. So even though the chances of this working were low, he tried it without hesitation.

He was a great and mighty Dao Lord who had ruled the Sea of Worlds with an iron hand for thousands of years, but he was still reeling from the impact of the sudden turn of events. To be fair, his inability to accept reality wasn’t because he lacked mental fortitude.

In fact, Heavenly Eye and the other Dao Lords didn’t fare better than him in understanding how he had lost. If they were mortals who couldn’t see the intricacies of the operation of the world, they would accept the loss without batting an eye.

They would accept that Black Chains was weaker, so he was defeated. But they couldn’t accept this notion at all because their eyes saw that Loki’s external body and instructions were not suppressed at all.

They saw that Black Chain’s Supreme Metac was suppressed. Therefore, Loki’s Supreme Metac should also be suppressed. But Loki’s Supreme Metac wasn’t suppressed, so either Loki was cheating somehow, or Black Chains was pretending.

This was why Tepid Scholar turned to Black Chains and said, "What are you playing at? This can’t fool anyone."

Black Chains shot back at him in anger, "What kind of play do you think I’m up to? I was defeated plain and simple."

Tepid nodded and said, "You’re right. I believe you."

As Tepid Scholar spoke, he made his avatar run back from the area of the fight. His avatar distanced itself and even rose into the air on its way to return to the true body.

His actions didn’t match his words at all. Clearly, he didn’t believe that Black Chains wasn’t planning to feign weakness and take down all of them in one fell swoop.

Seeing this, Black Chains urged him, saying, "Don’t go. Come and put pressure on him."

Tepid Scholar nodded and said in agreement, "I’m coming."

In the Blessed Heaven World, his avatar was actually leaving. It was also leaving as fast as possible back the way it came.

It also seemed that Tepid Scholar was not alone in this because the avatars of Heavenly Eye were also running away. Since everyone was leaving, Sword Will and Martial Will decided to join them.
