Chapter 95 - The Portal to Another Realm
Birds sang their morning chorus, weaving melodies through the crisp academy air. Sunlight filtered through the windows in golden streams, painting the room in warm amber hues.
Cale slowly opened his eyes to find a pristine white back in front of him.
He went straight for the hug, one hand creeping up to her breast while the other slipped between her legs, making slow circles on her folds. Although, he wanted anything but sex right now.
"Hnn~"
Emma moaned softly.
To keep from continuing, he stopped after a few minutes and kissed her long elf ears, smiling.
"I know you’re up~"
Emma mumbled, "Heartless bastard. Can’t I rest here?"
"We both have a lot of preparations to do, you know."
After fifteen minutes... he sighed and got up, producing the soul armor’s white robe to cover his body. He sat on the chair and pulled out some papers.
"Phew, my first love letter, huh?"
He started writing.
’Dear Princess...’
He went on explaining how his life was going. How his appearance had changed. How she shouldn’t be surprised if she saw him or if his cultivation suddenly spiked in the future.
He subtly mixed in how he missed her these days, since they too were childhood friends in a way, though they hadn’t met more than a few times.
He mentioned the inheritance from a cultivator hundreds of years ago opening here. What she should do to help him. How he would support her in return.
There was a chance she might just throw it away, but he had maintained a decent relationship with her as pen buddies since the aphrodisiac incident. She was not agreeing at first, but since they were to be betrothed anyways, she submitted. Though even Cale didn’t knew why he wasn’t dead right now.
He sent it.
"Good thing this world has something like fast messaging, heh."
It was a system for Letters traveling miles in just minutes and since the students didn’t sometimes go home for years, it was free for academy students around the clock.
Fiora was royalty. She wouldn’t lack these techniques anyways.
And her reply came within a few hours.
He opened it and laughed.
’What is this... heh, so she’s at least believing my information and agreeing to help.’
Not just that, she had even agreed to set up a merchant association specifically for goods Cale would provide. Even if it was small, it would still be profitable.
’Ahh... she’s such a sugar mommy! What was I doing in my past life rather than just begging her!’
It was obvious she would agree.
Why would she deny a chance to get more info on the inheritance cave, the one which has startled the upper echelons of the kingdom for past few weeks? Or rather, the portal to the Maleficent Realm?
As he sent and read letters for half a day, his new body kept getting more than one glance.
People couldn’t believe he was the same person. Though if he changed his hair color to blonde, he’d look mostly the same.
Suddenly, a girl came up behind him.
Short brown hair. Good physical features.
But what caught Cale’s eyes were her breasts.
Them boobs!
They were so huge. Literally bigger than any woman he’d ever seen.
Trying not to act like a creep, he stared at her face instead and smiled.
Just one smile worked and she blushed so easily.
’My charm stats have literally skyrocketed.’
"Oh, Miss... how can I help you?"
She was likely a year or two older, so he should try to be slightly polite.
She smiled back. "A-ah, n-no... I just wanted your help in the upcoming team assignment!"
Cale tilted his head. "Hm? There’s some team assignment going on?"
"Yes, it was announced a few days ago."
’Sigh, I guess this assignment won’t happen.’
"Can I know your name?"
Cale asked.
"A-ah, right. I’m Linia Frell."
"Alright, Miss Linia. I will think about it, since this is indeed the first time I’m hearing of this."
Just as he was speaking, an earthquake erupted.
’I-it’s started!’
The seed for the portal had appeared somewhere. The closest one to open was in the training halls’ backyard.
Cale looked at her. "Are you coming too?"
She nodded. "Yes, I need to see what’s happening too."
It was already evening time.
Those who noticed the tremors headed toward the source.
As soon as Cale reached there, it wasn’t crowded yet, but—
’As expected, huh. These motherfuckers!’
Envoys from the other three kingdoms were already present.
Obviously, they’d known about it opening someday.
Before, Cale had believed he would have an advantage entering first. Though that didn’t work out. Maybe he couldn’t change some fates—like being the only one entering another realm.
Another realm needed vital energy from dead bodies to keep the portal open anyway.
And it didn’t start right away. First came an entrance test.
From his experience reading about others who’d gone inside this one in his past life, he knew where the best rewards were.
The first test asked things with something like Cale’s system but a crude version.
Low, medium, high, peak, or hell ’difficulty’.
Cale would pick hell, of course.
He has already advised Fiora, Emma, and Rexa to pick low or medium. Peak might be hard unless they were Grandmaster Stage.
Still, Fiora was Grandmaster Stage too. Royal family’s resources were enormous, her reaching Apex Stage in a year or two was obvious else what even was the point of being a royal.
He reached the place with the fissure in space.
Blinding particles of yellow and blue swirled in spirals, forming a circle about a meter in radius. It would grow to decent size in the next few hours.
All the elders from each kingdom started arguing.
Even Silvester.
Fighting for the rights to enter first.
Cale had already told Fiora what he planned to do inside wasn’t exactly pretty. He would probably kill hundreds and if even one of them were to escape alive, he would be a walking target. So, she should only help him when necessary.
Using the recently obtained page six of the Book of Endless Refinement—his master had provided an entrapment array. One big enough for a city’s size, likely perfect for his plan.
But it wasn’t an array he could learn.
Once he used the page as the array’s core, it would lose its properties and just become a normal page. One shot, that was all he had.
