Chapter 78 - Scorched Ocean [2]
The multi-headed serpent roared, a gruesome spray of purple blood erupting from its wounded neck as the battle raged on.
Undeterred by the massive beasts, Cale accelerated and charged head-on toward the colossal black dragon.
As the leviathan snapped its terrifying jaws shut, Cale flew into the dark abyss of its monstrous mouth. With a fierce battle cry, he drove his sword upward, slicing violently through the beast’s skull and bursting free in a fountain of dark blood.
The monstrous dragon shrieked in agony before its massive body collapsed heavily into the churning ocean depths.
"One dead... pheww..."
Spinning around to face the remaining threats, Cale hurled the thorned lotus, watching the wheel-like weapon rapidly spin into a massive vortex to deflect the raining debris.
’Hmm, its better to be used like this and like flying swords only. All other ’forms’ I devised aren’t that great.’
Focusing his mind, Cale used telekinesis to command a stream of flying swords, sending them streaking through the stormy sky like a ribbon of black flames. The blades spiraled violently around the ethereal jellyfish, giving it hundreds of cuts, slicing its glowing tentacles to pieces before the colossal creature finally sank back into the dark, swirling sea.
The multi-headed serpent lunged violently from the turbulent ocean, its massive jaws snapping at the stormy air.
Cale soared more high above, his hands moving like water as he wove through the deadly strikes and dodged a barrage of piercing laser beams from the beasts below.
Seeking an opening to push back the encroaching monsters, Cale unleashed the thorned lotus again. The intricate fan turned into a circular saw, then spun furiously through the sky, expanding rapidly into a massive, golden wheel of energy that deflected the incoming attacks and forced the creatures back.
’If used properly, it can be used as a shield too, huh.’
Suddenly, a colossal, armored sea monster leaped from the dark depths, its terrifying jaws wide open to consume him in one bite.
Unfazed, Cale gripped noxis, channeling energy into the blade before charging forward to deliver a devastating, high-speed slash.
The giant beast was cleaved apart, its gargantuan, glowing severed head hurtling directly toward Cale. Without flinching, he raised a single hand, using telekinesis to catch and suspend the colossal weight of the half monster body in mid-air before effortlessly hurling it into the churning ocean below.
"Two down... fuhh, I might just be another battle hungry guy, heh. I guess the blood runs deep, I’m turning out like the old man and the emperor."
He hovered in the stormy expanse, his eyes locked on the monstrous leviathans lurking in the dark waters below. With a swift motion, he summoned the thorned lotus, its metallic blades instantly glowing.
He activated the weapon, sending its curved blades spinning furiously to generate a devastating Drill of energy. The thorned lotus shot forward with terrifying speed, carving a massive crescent of light that sliced brutally through the thick scales of the charging sea dragon like monster.
As the surrounding cliffs crumbled from the force of the shockwaves, he smoothly navigated through the massive falling boulders. His eyes flashed as he used telekinesis, commanding a flurry of glowing flying swords to strike the surrounding serpentine beasts in a series of fiery explosions.
Yes, the swords could explode and then form again.
"Just you wait, I will make a hydrogen bomb one day and blast off immortal lords, hehe."
Emerging untouched from the chaotic storm of dust and crashing waves, Cale landed firmly on a jagged, floating rock.
He gripped his sword tightly, the powerful weapon erupting in fierce lightning as he stood resolute against the towering, roaring monsters.
The remaining leviathans roared in unison, lunging at the small figure in a desperate frenzy. Cale leaped from the rock, abandoning his foothold(the blade) to meet them head-on in the stormy air.
With a fierce cry, he unleashed the thorned lotus, pushing the tens of swords to attack to their limit. The massive sea of blades expanded outward, ruthlessly shredding the giant armored beasts and reducing their massive forms to sinking debris.
Before the multi-headed serpent could react, Cale focused his mind and summoned the blinding storm of flying swords behind him, like a machine gun ready to fire.
The blades rained down like meteors, piercing every monstrous skull and pinning the colossal carcass deep into the dark ocean floor.
Only the massive dragon remained, snapping its terrifying jaws as it charged straight toward him. Gripping his odachi with both hands, Cale descended like a blazing comet, unleashing a massive wave of red energy that cleaved the final beast in two and finally brought silence to the churning sea.
"Hehehe, you fucks... ahh, I might just... hah..."
He exhaled, rotating his wrists. Why was he becoming more and more like a barbarian?!
’Right, I can’t cum from killing animals. Sigh, what is happening to my normal male mind.’
Flying, he checked the system. Now he had around 1200 Blank points, which would be quite helpful, add to that the crazy amount of material he got for refining and using as fuel for [Genetic Ascension.]
He flew ahead toward the academy, there was nothing left to accomplish out here anyway.
Killing dozens of beasts had been exhilarating in a way that made his brain feel like it was experiencing something close to sexual satisfaction. Just how depraved was his inner psyche?
He’d accumulated a lot of Blank Points from the massacre alone.
’Hmm... hey, can’t I do something with this massive amount of points? You didn’t even give me a proper reward. The shop is closed too...’
[Ding!]
[Reward: A page from ’Book of Endless Refinement’]
[Consumed: 300 Blank Points]
His eyes widened. "Ohh! You can do something like that! Should I just keep begging you whenever I need something from the shop?"
He caught himself, reconsidering. ’But still, just one page for 300 points... it must have some godly op technique, right?’
He landed onto a small hilltop to recover energy and read the page, his excitement barely contained.
