Chapter 193: The Picture and the Secret Conversations
Kai was shocked at the sight. Soon, his motorbike slowed to a halt as he wanted to understand what he was seeing.
"What? What is that thing?" he muttered.
At first glance, he thought it was Terrence... However, seeing that it had four arms, it might be another mechanical soldier, maybe a variant of Sentinel or the Spyders.
But as his Keen Sense skill sharpened, the truth became clear.
The aura wasn’t anything artificial... Instead, it was human.
Kai gripped the handlebars, debating whether to drive straight toward the man.
But before he could decide, the figure suddenly retreated, vanishing from his senses as if swallowed by the landscape.
"Huh?" Kai frowned as he realized that the man had incredibly stealth abilities, probably similar to what Mei had.
"He disappeared so quickly. This feels dangerous."
It was strange, unsettling even. Without wasting time, he pulled out his radio and informed Haven‑45.
"Be careful when going outside to collect resources. I spotted a man with four arms nearby."
With that warning delivered, Kai revved the motorbike and continued his journey.
Since he didn’t know the enemy, there was no need to waste time worrying about it. In any case, he knew that they were also unaware of the strength of his shelter.
At this point, with almost everyone equipped with a rifle, with some of them even having clearance to use the remaining Plasma Rifles, Kai wouldn’t have to worry about their safety.
Reminding them of the dangers was already more than enough, since Claire was a Rank 2 Survivor for a reason.

Hours later, the walls of Freedom Shelter came into view.
He felt relieved seeing the unharmed shelter as his senses confirmed the farmers were still tending Aurora’s modified crops.
They weren’t ready for harvest yet, but soon they would be.
Just as Kai approached the gate, Noli, one of the freed slaves he had rescued, rushed forward. He seemed quite excited.
"Sir Kai! You’re finally back. I think I found another shelter nearby!" he exclaimed while waving a digi‑cam in his hands.
Kai recognized it instantly. It was Aurora’s digi‑cam, bought from the Gene Trader’s miscellaneous items. He smiled, intrigued at the sudden report.
Then, he immediately recalled something.
"Wait... Is it foggy or near the swamp?" Kai asked.
Needless to say, he was hoping that Noli had found Angelo’s shelter! He could still remember the threat that he had left behind.
If not for the Global Event, he would’ve dealt with the man.
Noli nodded eagerly. "I think so... there’s a large mist, and also a swamp..."
"That’s great. Let me check the pictures later..." Kai said as he planned to visit the vault first. He needed to provide them with better supplies that they could use against the A.I. Soldiers.

Kai then entered the shelter with Noli, who also left immediately, saying he was so sleepy.
As for Kai, he immediately felt relaxed. The tension from the road had already faded...
Just ahead, Mei was lounging under the sun...
At this time, her eyes were fixed on something invisible in the air, and from time to time, a soft laugh escaped her lips.
It sounded light and carefree... like music in his ears.
However, Kai felt a little helpless.
’This...’
He expected to be greeted warmly as soon as he arrived.
Though he wasn’t expecting a hug from her, he was at least hopeful to hear her welcome his safe return.
For a moment, Kai tilted his head, curious at what she was doing. As he approached, he realized she wasn’t laughing at anything physical...
Right, she was interacting with the system!
"Are you on chat?" Kai asked.
Mei flinched, startled at the sudden familiar voice.
She hadn’t noticed him. "Y‑yes! Kai, you’re back. You should be making noise," she scolded lightly, though her smile betrayed her amusement.
Kai chuckled, shaking his head. "Noise? The gate was literally opened just now. Anyway, I thought you’d sense me before anyone else."
Mei grinned, tapping at the faint interface only she could see.
"I was distracted. I’m using the Guild Chat." Her tone carried excitement. "Ohhh... By the way, just a few more and we’ll complete the first Guild Mission!"
Kai chuckled. "Well... That’s all for you. My guild contribution will naturally increase, so tell everyone to deposit some precious items and complete their missions if they want to increase their contribution points. They’ll benefit a lot from it."
Mei nodded. "Yeah... We know. We’re now talking about something else. Don’t open the Guild Chat, okay?"
"Huh?" Kai was confused as he stopped his hands. He was just about to open the Guild Chat.
"Yes! Don’t open it," Mei said, using the best angry face she could make.
"Fine... fine. You probably heard about the new items I can take out. I’ll be filling up the vault, okay?" Kai said as he left the courtyard while shaking his head.
"Yes! That jetpack and that grappling hook... I want those, Kai!" Mei said as she already saw everyone in the Guild Chat talking about them.
Furthermore, the stimulants and potions were definitely something she’d like to have in her inventory.
"Got it... You can take them to the warehouse later." Kai replied with a wave of his hand before he left the courtyard.
For now, he had other priorities... and that was to use his Infinite Gift Pack Talent and provide supplies to everyone.

Meanwhile, Mei’s attention returned to the system interface hovering before her.
The Guild Chat was buzzing with activity, but this time the conversation wasn’t about missions or supplies.
Instead, the members were talking about Kai’s birthday.
Mei smiled as she saw everyone’s reaction.
Even in the middle of an apocalypse, she had not forgotten about it.
For some time, she scrolled through the messages, reading their ideas...
[ Victor: Let’s craft him a custom blade. ]
[ Claire: He deserves something symbolic, maybe a statue? I’m quite good with my hands. Should we try sculpting his face on a block of wood first? ]
[ Mei: What about a feast? I heard Mila can cook something special if we have decent meat we could use. ]
As soon as Mei said this, everyone suddenly received a notification.
Apparently, they had just completed the guild’s first mission!
