Apocalypse with my SSS Harem Beauties

Chapter 252: Dissapointment

The moment the fractured dome finally gave way and the last layer of distortion peeled back, the space above the battlefield opened completely. The barrier that had once sealed everything inside no longer existed and with its disappearance, Lilian and Seraphina could finally see clearly what had been hidden beneath it, not just a glimpse of it.

Their eyes locked onto him immediately.

Myles stood alone at the center of the ruined battlefield, surrounded by the aftermath of destruction that stretched in every direction.

Yet despite everything that had happened, despite the scale of power that had been unleashed, his posture remained steady and strong as if none of it had truly burdened him.

There were no visible signs of exhaustion in the way he carried himself. No staggering in his stance. He looked completely intact, as if the battle had not pushed him to any limit at all.

That was enough to make the situation feel wrong.

But it did not stop there.

The black and faintly colorful Ether coiling around his body moved slowly like living ink, wrapping around his arms and drifting along his frame in uneven currents that refused to settle.

It pulsed with a presence they both recognized immediately. That was not normal Ether. That was really the power connected to the Voidheart.

Neither of them spoke for some time.

Silence stretched between them as they continued to watch him from above. Too many thoughts ran through their minds at once, too many things they needed to process.

The scale of his change, the power he now has, and what it meant for everything moving forward.

It was not something that could be understood in a single glance.

Lilian swallowed slowly, her throat tightening as a thought pressed into her mind.

If Myles realized that she and Seraphina had chosen not to intervene earlier, that they had remained outside by their own decision rather than being fully restrained by the seal, then the outcome might not be something they could control.

The presence he gave off now was different. It carried a pressure that did not belong to this low world. It felt absolute.

It might be strong enough to suppress them.

Suddenly a quiet chuckle broke the silence.

Lilian turned her head.

Seraphina watched the battlefield below with a faint smile on her lips, her eyes fixed entirely on Myles.

"Looks like I didn't waste my time bonding with him," she said, her tone filled with clear satisfaction. "He really does have this kind of potential."

Lilian's brows tightened slightly. "She still doesn't see the problem…"

There was no excitement in her thoughts. Only concern.

"Let's go down," Seraphina continued without hesitation. "We should at least act like we're worried about him."

"I don't know…" Lilian replied, her voice low and tense. "He doesn't look stable right now."

Seraphina waved that off easily. "Relax. We'll just say the seal stopped us. Now that it's gone, we came as fast as we could."

Before Lilian could respond, Seraphina moved.

Her body dipped forward as she dove from the sky, her orange wings spreading wide as trails of embers followed behind her descent.

She did not slow down as she approached the battlefield.

Lilian remained where she was for a few seconds longer, watching. Then she exhaled quietly before following after her. Her descent was slower and more controlled than her. She allowed Seraphina to reach the ground first.

Below them, Myles' laughter faded.

His head tilted upward slightly as his gaze locked onto the two figures descending toward him. The grin on his face disappeared without a trace.

His expression turned cold.

Seraphina landed first. Her feet touched the ground a short distance in front of him as the embers around her wings slowly dispersed into the air.

She stepped forward without hesitation, her posture relaxed as if nothing was wrong.

"I'm sorry we couldn't help sooner," she said, her voice sounding sad. "The seal was too strong."

Myles did not respond immediately to her words. For a brief moment there was only silence lingered between them.

Then abruptly he moved.

His body surged forward with explosive speed that shattered the stillness without warning. The distance between them disappeared instantly.

Seraphina's eyes widened in shock. She had not expected it.

Her body reacted a fraction too late. Before she could shift or defend herself, Myles was already in front of her. His hand shot out and closed around her throat with crushing force.

The impact of that grip halted her completely.

A sharp choking sound escaped her as her body jerked. Her hands immediately shot up and grabbed his wrist, her fingers digging into his skin as she tried to pry his hand away.

But it did not move.

The strength behind his grip went far beyond physical force. Pressure flooded into her from every direction at once. It pressed against her body and sank deeper, forcing its way inside as the black and faintly colorful Ether seeped into her like a living presence.

Her breath caught in her throat. The air around her felt heavy and suffocating.

Her chest tightened as her lungs struggled to draw even a single full breath.

Above them, Lilian stopped midair.

Her body froze as her eyes widened slightly at the sudden turn. She did not move any closer. She did not interfere. She simply watched.

"What…" The word barely formed as it broke apart in Seraphina's throat.

Flames burst around her body in response. Her power flared instinctively as heat surged outward trying to push back against the pressure that restrained her. Fire wrapped around her form and licked upward in violent waves, but it failed to break through.

Myles' grip tightened. The Ether around him pressed harder.

Seraphina's resistance faltered. Her strength could not push him back.

"I'm sure someone like you could have at least tried to break that seal from the outside," Myles said, his voice low and cold as it cut through the air. "But you didn't. I didn't even see you try."

His eyes locked onto hers.

"Why?"

Seraphina felt it then. The presence behind his gaze.

It was vast and heavy. Like something that did not belong to this lower world and within him before. It pressed into her mind and made a shudder run through her body that she could not suppress.

Fear crept inside her. She could not answer.

Her grip on his wrist weakened.

Myles' expression was still filled with cold anger.

He lifted her effortlessly, her body leaving the ground as his hold on her throat never loosened. Then, without hesitation, he drove her downward.

Her body slammed into the ground with violent force.

The impact sent a burst of fire exploding in all directions as cracks spread across the ground beneath her. The sound echoed sharply across the battlefield.

"You just see us as amusement, don't you?" Myles said, his voice rising with anger. "You want to watch us fail. You want to watch us suffer!"

Seraphina's body trembled beneath him. Her flames flickered unevenly as she struggled to breathe.

Her chest heaved weakly as her hands continued to clutch at his arm, trying to force even a small gap between his grip and her throat.

But nothing changed. The pressure remained absolute and it was crushing her.

Lilian felt it the moment Seraphina's struggle began to weaken. The flames that once flared violently around her now flickered unevenly and broke apart under the overwhelming pressure that Myles forced onto her.

That sight struck something deep inside Lilian as a sharp sense of urgency rose without restraint. If this continued even a little longer Seraphina would die, and the consequences that followed would not be good.

She did not allow herself to hesitate any further. Her body moved as she descended quickly and landed a short distance away, her eyes fixed entirely on Myles.

The pressure in the air pressed against her the moment she stepped closer. It was heavy and suffocating, but she forced herself to stand her ground.

Myles' gaze shifted toward her.

The anger in his eyes remained cold and sharp. But beneath that, something else lingered. Disappointment.

That quiet layer beneath his anger struck Lilian far harder than his anger, and it unsettled her in a way she did not expect.

"Why do I even feel this sadness?" The thought passed quickly, but it left a faint weight in her chest.

"You have to stop this," Lilian said.

Myles did not respond. He only looked at her, his grip on Seraphina's throat still strong as ever.

Lilian continued, forcing the words out before the moment slipped away. "If she dies, the bond you have with her dies too. That power you gained from it will be gone."

The tension stretched for several seconds that felt far longer than they should have. Then slowly, Myles' fingers loosened.

He released her.

Seraphina's body dropped back against the ground as she gasped sharply, her chest rising and falling in uneven bursts like someone who had just been pulled out from deep water. She coughed weakly and her entire body trembled.

"We're sorry…" Lilian said quietly.

Myles cut her off before she could say anything more.

"We'll talk later."

His voice carried no warmth. Without another word, he turned and walked away.
