The Milf's Dragon

Chapter 235. The Second Pulse

Day forty-three.

The Palace was quiet in the late evening. The hatchlings had been sent to rest in their chambers. The healers had completed their final checks on Lord and Yuki, noting that both were in excellent health. Yuki was asleep in her chamber. Owen sat in the courtyard, watching the stars emerge as the dual suns finished setting.

Gorvax was in the observation chamber, maintaining his constant meditation.

Everything felt normal. Stable. The quiet month had settled into a routine that almost felt sustainable.

Then, at precisely midnight, everything changed.

Lord’s pulse was not like the first one. It was not a consequence of his birth—a signature bleeding into the cosmos involuntarily. This was intentional. Deliberate. A focused burst of cosmic energy that radiated outward from the Palace with precision and purpose.

The pulse lasted exactly three seconds.

But in those three seconds, every being in the cosmos sensitive enough to detect draconic signatures felt it. Felt it and understood, with absolute certainty, that something had just announced itself.

Owen felt it immediately.

He stood from where he had been sitting, his hybrid form manifesting instinctively as his CE rose in response to the surge. The energy was unmistakable. It was Lord. It was intentional. It was a statement broadcast across dimensional barriers.

I am here. I exist. Acknowledge me.

Yuki burst from her chamber moments later, her hand on her belly as she ran toward Lord’s crib.

The infant was awake. His golden eyes were brighter than they had ever been. The rainbow aura around them was pulsing rapidly, cycling through colors that Owen had never seen before. The child was smiling—an expression of absolute certainty on a face that should have been too young to hold such focused intent.

"He did that on purpose," Yuki said, her voice shaking slightly. "He called out deliberately."

"Yes," Gorvax said, appearing in the doorway. The Sower’s abyss-black eyes were fixed on Lord with the intensity of someone who had expected this moment but was still surprised by its arrival. "He is announcing his awakening. He is calling them."

"Calling who," Owen asked.

"Everyone," Gorvax said. "Every cosmic power. Every being sensitive enough to detect what he is. He is saying: I exist. I am aware. I am ready."

---

The reports started arriving within the hour.

Keris Vorn’s message came first, routed through the Tribunal’s communication arrays.

"Unprecedented signature pulse detected from Earth-Drak’thar region. All scanners registering simultaneously. Signature is clearly intentional. Tribunal mobilizing response. Full task force will arrive within twelve hours. Do not attempt to flee. Do not attempt to hide the child. Full cooperation required."

The message was professional but carried an undertone of urgency that made it clear the Tribunal was treating this seriously.

Solhart brought additional messages from his contacts in Nexus Prime.

"Multiple parties are moving," he reported. "Gate Zero has increased security. The hunter guilds are on alert. There is a sense throughout the city that something major has shifted in the cosmic order."

Then the message from Frauja arrived.

It did not come through any communication array. It simply appeared in the Palace courtyard in written form, the words appearing in luminescent text that hung in the air:

"I am returning. The child has declared himself. Prepare for judgment."

Yalira appeared in the courtyard, her tail flicking with agitation.

"The dimension around Drak’thar is destabilizing," she said immediately. "Multiple entities are opening transit gates. They are coming here. Fast."

"How many," Owen asked.

"Unknown. But more than just the Tribunal. I sense Progenitors. I sense entities I do not have names for. I sense something ancient moving through the cosmic substrate." Yalira’s amber eyes were sharp and focused. "Your son has called a meeting of powers. And they are answering."

---

Pertamax’s response came in a way that was not a message.

The distant being simply appeared.

Not inside Drak’thar. Not at a respectful distance. The entity manifested in the space between dimensions, visible only to those with the senses to perceive it. But visible nonetheless. The indescribable form that could not be properly perceived by mortal consciousness solidified enough to be undeniable.

The being tilted its head toward Drak’thar and smiled.

Then it began moving closer. Deliberately. Slowly. But with absolute certainty of direction. The Tier 0 entity was no longer distant. It was coming.

Owen felt the shift in the cosmic substrate the moment Pertamax began moving. The pressure on reality itself changed. The weight of attention from the oldest being in existence was no longer a distant observation. It was an active engagement.

"He is here," Gorvax said quietly, standing in the courtyard beside Owen. "The one who has been waiting. He is coming to witness the awakening."

---

By dawn, the convergence had begun.

The first Tribunal task force arrived through a dimensional gate. Twenty combat units. Tier 2 and Tier 3 beings, heavily armed, their CE signatures blazing with readiness for combat. They established a perimeter around Drak’thar without entering the kingdom itself. A cordon. A boundary. A clear statement: You are contained.

Frauja arrived next, manifesting directly in the Palace courtyard with her full contingent of Progenitors. Not attacking. But present. Her abyss-black eyes moved directly to Lord’s chamber, and even from a distance, Owen could feel her attention settling on the child.

"So," Frauja said, her voice carrying layers of tone. "He has announced himself. The failsafe has activated. The awakening has begun."

Gorvax stepped forward.

"Matriarch," he said, formal and respectful. "The child has chosen to reveal his nature. He is ready for what comes next."

"Is he," Frauja said. She turned to face Owen directly. "And are you ready, Dragon King? Are you prepared for what your son is about to become?"

Owen looked at Frauja, then back toward Lord’s chamber.

"No," he said honestly. "But I will be. Because I have no other choice."

Frauja made a sound that might have been approval.

"Then we wait," she said. "For the others to arrive. For the Tier 0 to manifest fully. For your son to complete his awakening. And then, we will finally understand what the cosmos is becoming."

---

Other entities began arriving throughout the day.

Beings that had no names in conventional languages. Creatures that existed partially outside normal space. Entities that the Tribunal had to actively negotiate with to prevent violence in the neutral zone of Drak’thar. They came because they sensed what was happening. They came because a bridge between cosmic orders did not emerge every million years.

By sunset, there were hundreds of beings positioned around Drak’thar. Some floating in the sky. Some manifesting partially in other dimensions. Some so large that their mere presence warped the local space around them. Some so small they appeared as nothing more than flickering points of light.

The convergence had drawn observers from across the cosmos.

Owen stood with Yuki and Lord in the Palace courtyard, surrounded by Gorvax, Leah, Odessa, Alfred, Yalira, and Solhart. Behind them, the five hatchlings formed a protective formation. Above them, the sky was filled with watching eyes. Waiting.

"He knows they are here," Yuki said softly, her hand on Lord’s head. The child’s golden eyes were glowing brightly, his rainbow aura pulsing in a rhythm that seemed to match the pulse of cosmic energy around them.

"Yes," Gorvax said. "And he is preparing for the next phase. The moment of full awakening. The moment when his nature will become clear to all of them."

"What will that moment look like," Owen asked.

"I do not know," Gorvax admitted. "I created the failsafe fifty thousand years ago. But I did not specify what the awakening would entail. That part was left to the being who activated it. Left to their choice. Left to their nature."

Owen looked at his son. At the child who was not quite a child. At the being who had deliberately called the cosmos to witness his emergence.

"When," Owen asked.

"Tonight," Gorvax said. "At midnight. When the veil between states is thinnest. When the moment of transition can be most clearly seen. Your son will awaken fully, and everything will change."

---

The palace fell into a strange quiet as night approached.

Not peaceful. Not tense. Simply waiting. The kind of stillness that precedes something massive.

Owen sat with Yuki and Lord in a private chamber. The child was calm, his golden eyes tracking the light that came through the windows. The rainbow aura pulsed steadily, as though marking time until something significant.

"Are you afraid," Yuki asked Owen.

"Yes," Owen said. "But not for myself. I am afraid for him. I am afraid that when he awakens, the cosmos will demand things from him that a being his age should not have to face."

"He is not really a child," Yuki said quietly. "He never was. We just kept expecting him to be one because that is what his body suggested."

"No," Owen agreed. "He is not a child. He is a bridge. He is a key. He is something that was designed fifty thousand years ago to reshape everything." Owen paused. "But he is still our son."

Yuki took Owen’s hand and squeezed it.

Outside, the assembled cosmic powers waited. Tribunal forces maintained their perimeter. Frauja observed from her position of authority. Pertamax drew closer, its form becoming slightly more defined as it approached the moment of awakening. Hundreds of other entities simply watched. Waited. Prepared themselves for whatever came next.

At 11:47 PM, Lord stood.

His small body straightened with the movement of something far older and far more certain. His golden eyes brightened until they blazed like twin stars. His rainbow aura expanded outward, filling the entire chamber with shifting colors that seemed to contain infinity itself.

"It is time," he said simply. His voice was not the voice of a child. It was layered, complex, carrying harmonics that suggested multiple aspects speaking simultaneously.

At precisely midnight, the child began to change.

Not into something monstrous. Not into something that denied his humanity or his draconic heritage. Instead, he began to become fully what he had always been designed to be.

A bridge.

And as he transformed, his signature shifted from vague and incomplete to something crystalline and clear.

Every being in the cosmos, from the smallest creature sensitive to cosmic energy to Only Tier 0’ Pertamax itself, felt the moment of clarification.

Lord had awakened.

And the cosmos would never be the same.
