Chapter 1437 - 1440 You’re Exaggerating Too Much_1
"Please, Madam Ye is being too kind; my Old Master didn’t do much—just passed on a message."
When County Magistrate Liu asked her to come, she was quite unwilling. She felt that although Ye Zi’an was a Prefect, he wasn’t the Prefect of Funan, so even if he did hold power, his kindness couldn’t benefit their household.
However, County Magistrate Liu believed it wasn’t about the present but forming connections for the future. Currently, Ye Zi’an was obviously ahead of him, and if they could establish a relationship, they would have more options in the future.
She had been skeptical of County Magistrate Liu’s idea, but ever since she met Yang Chuxia today, she deeply felt that her own Old Master was truly far-sighted.
Madam Liu thought of the day at the Mu Family, where Yang Chuxia and Commandery Princess Dongyang were so familiar with each other—people she herself couldn’t even hope to get close to. Yet, surprisingly, she seemed to be good friends with Madam Ye.
If she could establish a good relationship with Madam Ye, perhaps she could also become acquainted with Commandery Princess Dongyang. That would surely benefit her Old Master’s career.
Thinking this, any awkwardness and displeasure she had felt toward Yang Chuxia completely disappeared, and her expression became much warmer.
Yang Chuxia, on the other hand, was somewhat puzzled by her warmth, but quickly figured it out.
"Madam Ye, I heard that you have two sets of twins? That’s such a blessing." Madam Liu remembered seeing Yang Chuxia still pregnant the last time they met. Then she heard the news that Yang Chuxia had given birth again, to another set. This made Madam Liu, who only had one son, quite envious.
"Yes, Eldest and Second are both boys, and Third and Fourth are a girl and a boy." When the children were mentioned, Yang Chuxia took the opportunity to ask Mingcui to bring the children out for Madam Liu to see.
"Oh my, truly enviable, to have both sons and a daughter." Once the children were brought out, Madam Liu heaped on the praise, making Yang Chuxia a bit embarrassed—she was being overly enthusiastic.
It was her son who ran in, unable to watch any longer, and commented, "Mom, you’re really exaggerating too much. Yueyue’s cheek fat is all bunched up, and you can still see a fairy in her?"
The comment left Madam Liu staring with embarrassment.
Yang Chuxia didn’t know whether to laugh or not. To alleviate Madam Liu’s embarrassment, she had to say, "The Young Master is really candid; that’s very good!"
"Not at all, they’ve all been spoiled by me, their speech lacks restraint."
"See, I told you, they’re all so fake," Young Master Liu whispered to Yangyang after overhearing the adults’ conversation. "I just criticized your sister, and your mother must be very angry while mine certainly wants to beat me. But I’m just stating facts. Right now, you can’t really tell with your sister’s face, but your mother is beautiful, so she’ll definitely be pretty when she grows up."
Hearing his last two sentences, the fist Yangyang was about to swing relaxed; the nerve of him to talk about his sister, he’s asking for a beating. But he has to admit the boy has good taste—his mother is indeed beautiful.
"My dad is the most beautiful; my sister looks like my dad, so she will definitely be very beautiful." After he finished speaking, Yangyang added his comment.
Young Master Liu then asked in confusion, "Your dad? How beautiful can he be? Grown men all have beards; they look so ugly when they’re old."
Hearing this, Yangyang rolled his eyes and said, "That’s your dad, my dad doesn’t have a beard."
Listening to the two children’s conversation, the adults felt another wave of embarrassment.
Thankfully, it wasn’t long before Mingcui came to announce that lunch was ready. They all moved to the dining room, where with the lively antics of the two children, the meal turned out to be quite enjoyable.
