"Sister."

"Sister, I heard that our little niece and nephew have been born?" the voices of the two brothers followed one another.

"You two still know how to come back?" Yang Chuxia looked at her brothers, exasperated.

"That’s none of your business. If Second Aunt can’t handle it, I still have a way with Qian Xiaoqing," Yang Chuxia waved her hand, "You go and see the children."

Once everyone had gone to the next room to see the children, Yang Chuxia signaled Sister-in-law Li, who had been looking around the doorway, to come in.

"What’s the matter?"

"Madam, the person you asked me to find has been found."

"Is that so? That was pretty quick," Yang Chuxia asked with interest, "Where is he from?"

"From Wanghe Town. He owns property in town and has never married in his life. Knowing that we were finding him a bride, he was overjoyed. And when he heard that no betrothal gift was required, he kept asking when the wedding would be." However, Sister-in-law Li did not mention that the man was already over fifty years old and had not mentioned that he was originally a beggar. Only last year did he somehow come into a fortune and managed to settle down in a little courtyard in town.

"Since that’s the case, have Brother Li take the person away and deal with it now, and you go with them," Yang Chuxia thought for a moment before continuing, "Remember, this matter must be handled beautifully. You need to oversee it yourself. Once the rice is cooked into a done deal, then you come back and tell me."

After leaving Yang Chuxia, Sister-in-law Li headed to the guest room.

Qian Xiaoqing saw the person arriving and thought she was going to be released.

But instead of releasing her, they bound her and put her on a carriage. She didn’t know how long the carriage traveled; she felt like she was being bounced apart before it finally stopped.

Then she was carried into the room she’s now in. The room was empty, with only a few pieces of furniture, and it emitted a strange odor.

When she realized what was giving off the smell, she almost threw up; it was rotten, maggot-infested meat and a tub filled with filthy things.

Yet that wasn’t the most despairing thing, the most despairing was the face of the person who came in, beaming with joy.
