Chapter 694 - 695: Wait for me to marry you
"Mmm, I want to put on my own wedding dress." This was her insistence, to dress up in a bridal gown for the man she loved with all her heart!
Ye Zi’an immediately understood her thoughts and burst out laughing.
"Okay!"
"By the way, I almost forgot to ask, how did you get in here? Where are Xiu’er and the wedding planner?" Yang Chuxia suddenly thought to ask.
"They were held up by Mu Shaoling." Ye Zi’an reached out to hug her again, "My darling, just wait here patiently for me to come and marry you."
"Okay, I’ll wait for you."
Upon hearing this, Ye Zi’an lightly smiled, leaned over to give her a quick kiss, and then opened the door to leave.
Waiting outside the door, Mu Shaoling was winking and raising his eyebrows at him. Then the two of them quickly exited the courtyard. They encountered Ms. Wang, who was so startled that she was speechless. Taking advantage of her surprise, Ye Zi’an and Mu Shaoling took off.
Meanwhile, Yang Chuxia was still sitting in front of the bronze mirror, her heart thumping away.
Brother An’s performance just now really took her by surprise. It seemed like he could even do her hair. Yang Chuxia couldn’t help but chuckle. She would test his skills tomorrow.
When the wedding planner, Xiu’er, Ms Wang, and the others entered the room, they saw her sitting at the table, giggling.
Upon seeing that her makeup was already done, they were all stunned.
The wedding planner noted that although her makeup was not the usual bridal makeup, it looked even more beautiful. She couldn’t help but say, "Miss, you are really beautiful. I’ve been a wedding planner for so many years, and I’ve never seen a bride more beautiful than you."
"Thank you!"
Ms. Wang, hearing the comments of the wedding planner, grinned joyfully. She then handed a red envelope to the wedding planner. The wedding planner surreptitiously weighed it and found it rather heavy. She thought to herself that this was indeed a generous gift. As a result, she was even more complimentary in her remarks.
Then, when it was time to do Yang Chuxia’s hair, she was even more meticulous. To complement Yang Chuxia’s makeup, several hairstyles were tried before they finally settled on a particularly suitable and lovely one.
After her hair was done, Xiu’er went to fetch the jewelry that had already been prepared. The set included ruby-encrusted pearl tiaras, while the phoenix crown would be worn last.
This jewellery set had a little story behind it. When Yang Chuxia had her wedding date set, she made a sneaky visit to see an old fortune-teller, telling her about the wedding. Perhaps, the old lady was a real sage, because the next time she visited, the old woman gave her a large clam which contained dozens of top-quality purple pearls. Ye Zi’an had these made into a jewellery set, complete with hairpins, collar pins, necklaces, rings, earrings, and so on.
The wedding planner had helped the families of big shots celebrate happy occasions before and had seen numerous valuable items, but such glossy pearls were indeed rare. She couldn’t help praising them again.
"My daughter really is beautiful!" Once the wedding planner had finished doing her hair and she had changed into her wedding dress, the planner left the room, leaving mother and daughter alone to chat.
"Mom"
"You were so tiny when you were born, and your father and I weren’t capable enough to protect you. We had so many difficulties back then. I was afraid you wouldn’t make it. Now, in the blink of an eye, you’re getting married." As Ms. Wang spoke, tears welled up in her eyes.
"Mom, don’t cry." Yang Chuxia pulled Ms. Wang close, "Even though I’m getting married, I’m still right here with you. You can rest assured."
"You’re right." Ms. Wang wiped away her tears, "I do know you’re just marrying and staying nearby, and I’ve seen Zi’an grow up. But it still hurts. Once a woman gets married, she belongs to another family - it’s not quite the same."
