My Wife is a Hidden Big Shot

Chapter 491: Extra - Leigh Miles x Dean Morgan (5)

Now that her senior sister and Morgan had returned, Leigh Miles settled into university life.

The Body Refining Boxing Technique had begun to be promoted by The Martial Alliance, so the university now required all students—male and female—to practice it. The technique was even added to the physical education curriculum, replacing the basic fist techniques from before.

This led some of the female students who had never practiced martial arts to complain endlessly.

"Seriously, why are girls being forced to practice boxing now? Look at my calves. I’ve actually started developing muscle over the past two days. It’s so ugly!"

"I know, right? Who even came up with this idea? Aren’t girls supposed to just focus on looking pretty? Shouldn’t fighting be for those smelly boys?"

"I heard a major figure from The Martial World suggested it. And it was a woman, no less."

"Why would a woman make things so hard for other women... I hope she stays single for the rest of her life..."

Before she could finish, an empty bottle hit her on the head.

"Julia Warren, what nonsense are you talking about? Keep running your mouth and I’ll make you run laps..."

Leigh Miles glared at her, annoyed.

Julia Warren stuck out her tongue and grumbled complainingly,

"Leigh Miles, just because you’ve practiced martial arts since you were a kid doesn’t mean the rest of us have. Look at my skin, it’s gotten so tan lately..."

Leigh Miles looked at her three roommates staggering around and sighed in exasperation. "Do you still want to stay young forever and live for hundreds of years or not?"

"Of course I do, but my body can’t take it! I’m so dizzy and weak right now, I just want to collapse on the ground and sleep."

"Yeah, why did you make us get up so early to run..."

"My beauty sleep..."

Leigh Miles flicked each of them on the forehead. "The more you sleep in, the faster you’ll age. Do you still want those tickets to Darius Lynch’s fan meet or not?"

"We do..." At the mention of Darius Lynch, the three of them immediately perked up.

They had no idea what kind of connections Leigh Miles had, but she could get not only autographed photos of Darius Lynch, but also all sorts of DAF merchandise. She was like a magical treasure chest.

Leigh Miles shook her head in amusement. "Then finish this lap and practice the first level of the Fist Technique twice."

"Aww..."

"Come on, you three. I’m doing this for your own good. The quiz is in a few days. If you can’t even perform the Fist Technique, I’ll be a laughingstock."

"Why?" The three of them looked at her suspiciously.

Leigh Miles gave a wry smile. "I made a bet with Mr. C..."

"You don’t mean that handsome teaching assistant from The College of Physics, do you?" Julia Warren asked, looking lovestruck.

Leigh Miles nodded. "I bet half a month’s allowance on it. If you guys don’t pass, my allowance is gone..."

"Ooh, betting your allowance? Are you two that close?" Julia Warren gave her a meaningful look.

After Professor Morgan himself, Benjamin Morgan was the poster boy for The College of Physics. He was famous for his lack of interest in women, completely devoted to his career in physics.

Countless young female teachers and students at the university had crushes on him, but he hadn’t shown interest in a single one.

That is, until Leigh Miles appeared. This Assistant Morgan started coming to see her every few days, practically becoming a regular at the medical school.

Leigh Miles claimed they were like adoptive siblings, but who knew if that was really the case?

The three roommates looked at her with teasing expressions.

"Leigh Miles, tell us, is this Mr. C really not your boyfriend?"

Leigh Miles rolled her eyes. She’d lost count of how many times she’d had to explain this.

’But people at school just loved to gossip about her and Benjamin Morgan. As if she’d ever fall for him! He’s a sly, scheming jerk who gets his kicks from teasing Mr. Dixon and me. I honestly don’t know how Luna puts up with him.’

"Don’t worry, even if I were single for the rest of my life, I would never fall for him."

’If it weren’t for protecting Luna, I wouldn’t be playing the part of his shield at school.’

Among the girls chasing after Mr. C, there was a particularly crazy one—rumored to be a young lady from a collateral branch of the Whitlock Family. In the past, she would secretly frighten away any girl who got close to Benjamin Morgan.

But Leigh wasn’t afraid of the Whitlock Family, especially after her senior sister had recently given them a thorough scare. As a result, the Whitlock Family members now scurried away from her like mice from a cat, including that young lady from the collateral branch.

This was also why she was earning some pocket money from Benjamin Morgan.

’Being his shield couldn’t be for free, after all.’

But the more Leigh Miles denied it, the less her roommates believed her.

In fact, it had the opposite effect, making her protestations seem more suspicious. So, she just let them fantasize about some bickering-lovers-trope all they wanted.

The first-stage exam for the Body Refining Boxing Technique was held on a Saturday.

The exam took place on the main athletic field, with senior members of The Martial Alliance acting as examiners.

This exam didn’t count toward their grades; it was merely a proficiency test. However, no one knew if it would be tied to course credits in the future.

Therefore, the students of Arcadian University were very nervous about the Body Refining Boxing Technique exam.

"Leigh Miles, what should I do? I have to pee again," Julia Warren said, her nerves making her run to the bathroom constantly.

Leigh Miles, feeling a bit helpless, told her to hurry back.

"Leigh Miles, how are you not nervous?"

"Yeah, my legs feel like jelly. If I fail, will it affect graduation?"

Leigh Miles recalled something her senior sister had said. She was about to say, "It might," but when she saw their pale faces, looking as if they might faint from fright at any moment, she quickly changed her mind.

She pointed to the woman sitting in the middle of the examiners’ table and said reassuringly, "I know the main examiner. As long as you perform the boxing technique the way I taught you, she won’t give you a hard time."

"Really?"

"Watch this."

They watched as Leigh Miles strode over to the examiners’ table, leaned in, and whispered a few words. The serious-looking young woman in the center immediately glanced in their direction and nodded.

The two of them were instantly relieved.

When Leigh Miles returned, they immediately crowded around her. "Leigh Miles, you’re incredible! Is that woman your senior sister?"

"Nope. She’s my grandniece..."

"Holy crap! Badass..."

After the exam, Leigh Miles’s three roommates tried to drag her out to celebrate, but she told them she already had plans for lunch.

The three immediately thought of the handsome teaching assistant and started teasing her excitedly.

"Spill! Are you going on a date with your Mr. C?"

"He’ll be there, but so will other people."

"Who would be so clueless as to third-wheel you two?"

Their voices were a bit loud, causing Dean Morgan, who was walking over, to stop in his tracks.

Leigh Miles had her back to Dean Morgan and didn’t see him. She continued to joke with her friends, a grin on her face. "Why are you all so gossipy... It’s just an innocent meal..."

"Ooh, la la. Relationships always start with an ’innocent meal.’ Hope you don’t come back tonight..."

"Stop it, you guys. I’m leaving..."

Leigh Miles flicked each of them on the forehead and turned away with a sigh.

When she saw Dean Morgan’s stoic expression, the smile on her face froze. She suddenly felt a pang of guilt.

"M-Mr. Dixon, what are you doing here?"

Dean Morgan had been away on a mission and had only recently returned, so Leigh Miles’s roommates had never seen him before.

Dean Morgan glanced at the three roommates behind her and said calmly, "I came to get you."

"Oh, right... Then let’s go get lunch!"

Leigh Miles hurried forward, about to pull him away.

But Dean Morgan didn’t budge. He looked at her and asked, "Are you on a date with Mr. C?"
