Surviving in the Beast World with a System

Chapter 625 - 428: The Vanished Yan Yan Tribe (Part 2)

With another roar, the Super Tribe’s Beastman Warriors charged toward the Yan Yan Tribe warriors facing them, and the battle erupted.

Meanwhile, a Scorpion Beastman from the Scorpion Tribe, hiding in a large tree outside the Yan Yan Tribe’s settlement, clung tightly to a thick branch. He watched as the once-bustling Yan Yan Tribe fell into a deathly silence.

Finally, as the sun set, the Super Tribe’s forces departed. The overwhelming stench of blood in the Yan Yan Tribe’s clearing attracted countless wild beasts.

Tearing and howling, they feasted as if at a grand banquet, greedily enjoying their hard-won dinner.

"It’s... it’s horrifying..."

The Scorpion Beastman’s teeth clacked together, the sound unnervingly loud in the quiet night.

He squeezed his eyes shut and took a long moment to compose himself before jumping down from the tree. His steps were unsteady as he ran in the direction of his tribe.

’The Yan Yan Tribe has been wiped out. I have to tell the Wizard immediately.’

"Who’s there!"

Perhaps because he was in such a panic, the usually skilled hunter had forgotten to conceal his movements and was discovered by the Scorpion Tribe Leader and his party, who had been following.

Hearing the familiar voice, the Scorpion Beastman was so relieved he nearly burst into tears.

"Clan... Clan Leader, the Yan Yan Tribe... they were wiped out by the Super Tribe! There are no survivors. Even the Salt Witch is dead."

The Salt Witch had detonated his own witch power at the very end, but because the enemy had four Wizards whose strength surpassed his, the intense surge of power felt like little more than a tickle to the members of the Super Tribe.

Once the tickle subsided, they carried on as before.

The Scorpion Beastman Captain shuddered, his throat suddenly feeling dry. "They’re all... dead?"

The Beastman nodded, his eyes wide with residual terror. "All of them. They didn’t leave a single one alive."

In the end, the Beastman didn’t get to leave. His party waited for three days until all the corpses in the Yan Yan Tribe’s settlement had been devoured by wild beasts. Only then did they set foot on the land, now filled with the stench of rot.

The former bustle was long gone. Even the stone houses, a symbol of the tribe’s strength, had been smashed and toppled.

The entire settlement was in ruins. The members of the Scorpion Tribe could only look on, sighing. They were thrilled that the Yan Yan Tribe had been annihilated, but they were also terrified by the Super Tribe’s immense power.

This bloody lesson had shown them the true gap between an ordinary tribe and a Super Tribe—it was like an insurmountable mountain.

After searching the Yan Yan Tribe’s settlement for an entire day, they finally found where the tribe had mined its salt: a hidden cave behind the main camp.

"So much salt..."

The Beastmen stared at the crude salt before them, which had a faint bluish-black tint. With faces flushed in excitement, they lunged forward.

They pressed themselves against the cave walls and immediately stuck out their tongues, licking the crystals directly.

When the salty, bitter taste filled their mouths, the Beastman Warriors looked at one another and let out a series of "AWOOO" howls inside the cave.

It was theirs. All this salt was theirs.

"Clan Leader, the Messengers from the Super Tribe... they won’t come back, will they?"

Having witnessed the great massacre, the scout was still jumpy. He peeked nervously out of the cave and asked with concern.

The Scorpion Tribe Leader shot him an irritated look. "Since when have you ever heard of a Super Tribe lacking salt?"

The Beastman froze for a second, then scratched his head with an awkward laugh. "Right. That’s true."

"Alright, quiet down, everyone. First, we’ll scout the area. If there are any survivors from the Yan Yan Tribe..."

A distinct killing intent flickered in the Scorpion Tribe Leader’s dark eyes. "...then we, the Scorpion Tribe, will finish them off on behalf of the Super Tribe’s Messengers.

Then, we’ll clear out all the remains from the settlement. From now on, this will be the territory of the Scorpion Tribe."

"ROAR! ROAR! ROAR!"

"AWOOO! AWOOO!"

The Beastmen’s howls echoed throughout the entire Yan Yan settlement.

Meanwhile, in a small, distant cave, a dozen or so older Beastman Warriors watched over the young ones, their eyes red-rimmed with grief.

"Our tribe has been destroyed by the Super Tribe. We are a tribe no more. But you must remember, we are still people of the Yan Yan Tribe."

The middle-aged Beastman’s voice was choked with emotion. "We are no match for the Super Tribe. You are the hope for our tribe’s future. The Wizard wanted us to lead you away, to find a new place to live and carry on the legacy of the Yan Yan Tribe.

Forget about what happened to our tribe. Forget it all... unless the day comes when we have the strength to take our revenge."
