Surviving in the Beast World with a System

It rendered the Worm Witch completely unable to fight.

"Let’s go. Inside the cave first."

The System once again took the form of a jet-black poisonous snake, using the tip of its tail to lower the Beast Skin flap it had lifted.

Wu Yue looked at the numbers on her system panel, which had dropped by a huge chunk, her heart aching beyond words.

’Was it easy to act all high and mighty?’

’Especially when posturing in front of a Super Tribe.’

The huge price was that the points she had saved up were now decreasing at a visible rate.

’Showing off is a temporary thrill, but always showing off is a constant thrill!’

"Get up early tomorrow. We’ll set off sooner. System, keep scanning while we travel. Let me know if you find any medicinal herbs. We need to restock some points."

She looked resentfully at the jet-black System before her. "I’ve redeemed so many items recently. Don’t you guys offer any discounts?

I should at least be considered a loyal fan and a regular customer of the System Mall by now."

The System gave a dry laugh. "Host, I really don’t have the authority for that. We’re like two grasshoppers on the same string right now; of course I know that if you do well, I do well. If I could make it cheaper, I’d definitely give you a discount."

It poked the ground with the tip of its black tail, sounding aggrieved. "But this humble System’s words carry no weight. I don’t have any say in the matter."

Wu Yue shot the black thing a look of disdain. ’What a useless System. Good for nothing except eating.’

"You two take turns on guard duty. I’m going to meditate and restore my witch power."

With that said, she sat down on a Beast Skin mat and closed her eyes.

’Better to ignore the unreliable System for now. Restoring my witch power and healing my injuries is the priority.’

The deep forest grew darker at night. After the sun set, the entire deep forest seemed to come alive, filled with ceaseless roars.

It only gradually quieted down as dawn approached.

Meanwhile, at the border between the territories of Intermediate and High Rank Fierce Beasts, a dozen or so blackened figures were lying scattered about in a cave.

Two tall figures sat at the cave’s entrance, their bodies caked in a layer of black mud. The stench of dirt filled their nostrils, mingled with the faint scent of blood.

"Boss, can we still make it out of here?"

A Beastman suddenly spoke. On his face, only his eyes and the teeth revealed when he spoke were visible.

The silence in the cave was broken. The tall Beastman wiping his Bow and Arrow paused his movements. "We can."

’He still had to go back and find his little female, after all.’

Teng Qian glanced at him. "I want to go back too."

’That female who dared to force herself on him... If he made it back this time, he would definitely be the one to pin her down.’

"Everyone’s injured, and we don’t have much medicine left. I don’t know if they can hold on until we reach the tribe."

Teng Qian turned to look at their tribesmen resting inside the cave, his expression grave.

"There’s still some left. Apply it to the most severely injured tribesmen. We’ll set out at dawn."

The Beastman’s deep, magnetic voice echoed in the cave. Yuan Lang’s eyes were dark and profound.

Teng Qian nodded.

The chirping of birds filled the early morning. Wu Yue felt something whip across her face, the pain jolting her awake from her meditation.

The sky outside the deep forest should have been bright by now, but it was still somewhat dim within the woods.

In the cave where the Super Tribe members were staying, everyone was still asleep except for a few patrolling Beastman.

Wu Yue unwrapped the bandage on her leg and gathered her witch power, which was full of Life Energy, near the wound. The hideous injury began to heal at a speed visible to the naked eye.

Retracting her witch power, she chuckled and moved her leg. "All better."

"Host, you should raise your Rank as soon as possible. Your witch power only has a healing effect right now. At a higher Rank, it will also have a recovery effect, which is really great."

Wu Yue gave a dry laugh. "Actually, I think I’m pretty great already."

With that, she stood up, slinging her satchel over her shoulder and putting on her pack.

"Let’s go."

As soon as she took down the protective shield around the tent, her movements immediately attracted the attention of the Super Tribe’s Beastman Warriors.

Seeing that Wu Yue was already packing up her tent, one of the Beastman Warriors immediately turned and walked into the cave.
