The overly eager, top-salesman-like tone was so strong it almost made Wu Yue give up entirely.

With a wry smile, she kept her expression neutral as she reached down, picked up a salt crystal, and tossed it into her pocket. "Can you test this for me? How pure are these salt crystals?"

The System’s voice instantly took on a pouty tone. "Host, aren’t you going to sell something to earn a few extra points on the side? Your points balance is cleaner than your face right now."

Wu Yue raised her eyebrows smugly. "You’re right, I was thinking my skin has gotten much better too. It must be because all the food I’ve been eating is so natural.

And the air here is much better, too."

With that, she took a deep, dramatic breath.

’Heh. Heh,’ the System retorted internally. ’So, my dear Host, do your ears come with a built-in filter? How did you not hear a single word I just said? Did you really think I was complimenting you?’

Resignedly, it pulled the deep blue crystal into the System Space.

"DING! System analysis in progress!"

"Analysis complete: High-concentration Salt Crystal Stone."

After the mechanical notification faded, the System’s wheedling voice came back online. "My dearest Host, do you happen to have any little scraps of Salt Crystal Stone by your feet?

Could you possibly spare some for your poor Little Commander?

Thanks to your prolonged neglect, your Little Commander is having a hard time even affording meals."

To drive the point home, it even supplied its own sad, tragic background music.

Wu Yue: "..."

’Why does the System feel even more shameless now?’

But when she thought about how she really hadn’t paid much attention to the poor Little Commander lately, Wu Yue felt a small twinge of guilt.

She immediately stood up and tossed all the scattered Salt Crystal Stones on the ground into her small basket.

In reality, they all went into the System’s little pocket.

To get a taste of what it felt like to be a rich system, the System even changed its notification sound for receiving points to the clinking of falling gold coins.

With the sound of continuously falling coins in its ears, the System was starting to get carried away.

"Host, you’re the best host in the whole world! I love you like a mouse loves rice!"

Wu Yue chuckled dryly. "Don’t be so naive, System. The mice in this world don’t love rice. They love meat."

A series of images flashed through the System’s dark, glossy eyes. It shivered and said, "My dear Host, you are correct."

’What a savage world this is. The damn mice are bigger than dogs.’

Looking down at its own short, stubby body, the System was suddenly filled with an inexplicable sadness.

"You can have one-third of the points from that sale. Deposit the rest into my account."

The System mentally bit its little handkerchief and whimpered. ’I thought all those points were for me, but now you’re telling me I only get one-third?’

Just as the System was preparing to lodge a weak protest, having managed to squeeze out two teardrops, its eyes suddenly hardened. It shouted urgently, "Host, get off that rock you’re sitting on, now!"

Before Wu Yue could even process the words, she felt as if something had taken control of her body. She was instantly flung to the side, even performing several backflips in the process.

Wu Yue: "..."

’Well, that was abrupt...’

’I’m this badass and I didn’t even know it.’

Perhaps hearing the commotion, the Beastman Warriors who had stayed behind as guards rushed over.

The moment they arrived, they saw the one they considered an incredibly fragile little female execute several nimble flips before landing perfectly.

While the moment might have called for a round of applause, Wu Yue couldn’t feel the least bit happy as her eyes fell upon the spot where she had just been sitting.
