Teng Qian stared at her in disbelief. "Is this how you treat a Hu Zi like me, after all the good work I’ve done?"

The two beastmen’s furry tiger faces both wore the classic ’Hu Zi is wronged, but Hu Zi won’t say it’ expression.

Wu Yue nodded. ’Perfect. The paws are perfectly marinated, and these two Hu Zi are putting on a perfect performance.’

"Why don’t you two have some fruit and take a break? We’ll head down as soon as we finish curing the meat."

After Wu Yue left, the two beastmen were happily munching on some crisp, sweet fruit when a pair of large, Beast Skin-clad feet entered their vision.

’That familiar curve and silhouette...’ The two beastmen looked up.

’Yep, it’s our boss, all right.’

"What’s up, Boss!"

Yuan Lang let out a soft sigh. "I’m so lucky to have you guys with me. I don’t know what I’d do if I were all alone in this strange world."

Seeing him get so sentimental, the two beastmen weren’t the least bit moved. Instead, their eyes filled with wariness as they twitched their claws.

’This is terrifying. Nothing good ever happens when the boss gets like this...’

Seeing their "what are you scheming now" expressions, Yuan Lang sighed internally.

He immediately dropped the act, straightening up and looking down at the two beastmen, who still had fruit pits in their mouths. "Once you’re finished eating, go gather firewood. Pick dry branches that won’t make a lot of smoke."

With that, he gave a cool turn and went back to curing the meat.

Teng Qian and Teng Kun were left staring blankly at each other for a long moment. Then, with a series of grunts, they shifted back into their beastman forms and trudged whimpering into the forest.

’What the hell! It’s true what they say: the harder you work, the more work you get. We should’ve just dragged our feet.’

The Snow Tiger Tribe Beastman Warriors all pitched in. With a clear division of labor, they finally finished all their preparations before nightfall.

The entrance to the hole hadn’t been widened; it was still just barely large enough for a single Beastman Warrior to squeeze through.

Once the beastmen had transported all the food below, only Yuan Lang, Wu Yue, and the brothers Teng Qian and Teng Kun were left above ground.

Yuan Lang looked at his two Deputy Generals. "You two come down in a bit. I’m taking Yue down."

Teng Qian and Teng Kun nodded.

With that, he pulled Wu Yue tightly into his arms with one hand, grabbed a vine with the other, and began to slide down.

The beastman’s descent wasn’t fast, and with the sky already dark, it wasn’t as frightening as it could have been.

Teng Qian went and dug up a piece of turf from nearby. Once Teng Kun was down, Teng Qian grabbed the edge of the opening with one hand, his body suspended, and covered the hole with the turf.

Only then did he let go, allowing himself to drop rapidly.

’A beastman who has cultivated the Beast God’s Power can afford to be this confident. The last time I fell with the boss and my little brother, I was the one who hit the bottom, but besides being a bit sore, I wasn’t injured at all.’
