Divorce, Please: The Young Master Does Not Love Me

Chapter 760 - 748: I Want You to Marry Me (35)

Archie Lockwood was furious. Grabbing Eleanor Bishop’s arm, he prepared to go punish Rory. "Shirley Lockwood! Do you think I spoil you too much? Is that why you dare to tell such blatant lies in front of everyone?!"

"I didn’t! I was telling the truth..." Shirley Lockwood retorted in a small voice, pouting guiltily.

Seeing that Shirley was still unrepentant, Archie Lockwood let go of Eleanor Bishop’s arm, moved around her, and reached out to grab Rory.

"Ah..." As Archie suddenly let go of her, a bone-deep pain shot through Eleanor Bishop’s legs. She lost her balance and toppled sideways.

Hearing her cry, Archie’s heart leaped in shock. He quickly reached out, pulled her into a tight embrace, twisted his body, and cushioned her fall with his own.

The two of them hit the ground hard, and Archie Lockwood let out a muffled groan.

Hearing the sharp thud and seeing the pretty lady land so heavily on her dad, Shirley Lockwood’s face filled with remorse. "Dad, are you okay?" she asked anxiously.

"I’m fine. Go get a doctor, quickly." Archie held Eleanor Bishop tightly, not daring to move an inch, terrified of hurting her further.

"Oh, okay! I’ll go right now..." Thinking her dad was hurt, Shirley scrambled to her feet and ran out the door.

Lying on top of Archie Lockwood, Eleanor Bishop saw his tightly furrowed brow and couldn’t help but ask with concern, "Are you all right?"

"What do you think?" Archie shot her a furious, displeased glare.

This made Eleanor Bishop even more uneasy. Biting her lip and fighting back tears, she endured the pain in her legs and shook her head nervously. "I-I don’t know..."

"Does it hurt a lot?" Seeing her pitiable expression—biting her lip with tears in her eyes—Archie felt a pang in his own heart. "Does it hurt a lot?" he asked, his voice deep and hoarse.

Eleanor Bishop raised her eyebrows, looking at Archie Lockwood in confusion. "Hmm?"

"Does it hurt a lot?" Archie repeated, suppressing the urge to fly into a rage and forcing himself to be patient.

’Does it hurt a lot? Is he... worried about me?’ Eleanor Bishop stared at Archie Lockwood in astonishment.

Her expression completely infuriated Archie. His gaze turned fierce as he roared, "I asked you, are your legs in a lot of pain?!"

Startled by his roar, Eleanor Bishop snapped back to her senses. She lowered her head, her gaze flickering, and answered with a choke in her voice, "Oh... it doesn’t hurt..."

Veins bulged on Archie Lockwood’s forehead as he fought the urge to shove her off him. "Eleanor Bishop, you! Won’t you be happy until you’ve driven me to my grave? You’re an ungrateful wretch!" ’He’d risked injury to save her and had even shown concern, yet she just brushed him off like this.’

’Doesn’t hurt, huh??’

’Then why is she crying?’

’Why did she scream?’

’If it doesn’t hurt, then why didn’t she just die from the fall!!!’

"I... I... I..." Eleanor Bishop’s heart quaked with fear, and she didn’t dare to look Archie Lockwood in the eye.

She felt as if, at any second, Archie Lockwood was going to eat her alive!

It was utterly terrifying...

Archie Lockwood was in no mood to listen to her anymore. Since she claimed she wasn’t in pain, he saw no reason to care about her feelings.

So, Archie Lockwood slowly pushed her off him and stood up.

He looked down at the woman sprawled on the floor, his cold eyes dark and profound. Raising an eyebrow, he said, "If you’re not in pain, then get up by yourself."

’Get up by myself?’

Eleanor Bishop’s face went deathly pale. She bit her lip, planted her hands on the floor, and tried to force herself to stand up...
