Divorce, Please: The Young Master Does Not Love Me

Chapter 595 - 593: You’re Being Too Polite

Chelsea York rounded the table and came to Mika Summers’ side. Her lips curved slightly as she spoke in a soft, smiling voice, "Hello, sister-in-law. I’m Chelsea York."

Mika Summers was resting on Tristan Grayson’s shoulder when the sudden words made her frown. She opened her eyes and looked up at the woman greeting her.

’She clearly hadn’t expected this woman to come over and greet her, let alone call her ’sister-in-law’.’

"Sister-in-law, may I sit here?" Chelsea York asked with a smile, placing the dessert she was holding on the table in front of Mika Summers.

Hearing the woman’s question, Mika Summers glanced toward Tristan Grayson, who happened to be turning to look at her at that very moment. She furrowed her delicate brows, her eyes filled with confusion.

Tristan Grayson leaned close to her ear and whispered, "She probably came with Ian Shaw. Don’t worry."

It was only then that she recalled seeing Ian Shaw with a date when they arrived. ’So this woman is his date?’

’Since Ian Shaw brought her, I have no reason to be unwelcoming or tell her she can’t sit here. Besides, this isn’t my house; people can sit wherever they want.’

At this thought, Mika Summers’s lips curved into a smile, and she nodded.

Having received Mika Summers’s approval, Chelsea York immediately sat down beside her and pointed to the dessert she had just placed on the table. "Sister-in-law, I got that dessert for you."

Mika Summers glanced at the dessert and thanked her with a smile, "Thank you."

Just then, Tristan Grayson spotted Aiden Avery’s uncle. Avery raised his wine glass, gesturing in Tristan’s direction. Tristan tightened his arm around Mika Summers’s waist. When she turned to look at him, he said slowly, "Honey, I’m going to go talk business for a minute. I’ll be back to join you in a bit, so don’t wander off."

"Mm, I know. I’m not a three-year-old. You can go."

Tristan Grayson wasn’t convinced. "It doesn’t matter. You’re still not allowed to wander off. You’re not to go anywhere without me here. Be good and wait for me." With that, he leaned down and planted a kiss on her cheek.

Mika’s face flushed bright red from being kissed in such a public setting. She wriggled out of Tristan’s embrace. "Hurry and go! Aren’t you embarrassed, at your age?"

"What’s there to be embarrassed about? You’re my wife," Tristan Grayson said smugly, then stuffed his hands in his pockets and walked away.

Watching his retreating figure, Mika Summers couldn’t help but blush even deeper.

Having witnessed the public display of affection, Chelsea York covered her face with an envious smile. "Wow, sister-in-law, you and Tristan have such an amazing relationship!"

Mika Summers could only offer an awkward smile in response.

"I’m so relieved to see how good Tristan is to you, sister-in-law. You see, you might not know this, but when we first arrived, we ran into Miss Joyce. And that Miss Joyce... she’s got a huge thing for Tristan. When I found out, I was actually worried for you."

? The smile on Mika Summers’s face instantly froze.

Chelsea York noticed the change in Mika’s expression. After a moment’s thought, she added, "I was with Shaw at the time, so I overheard his conversation with Miss Joyce. From what she was saying, it sounds like she has no intention of giving up on Tristan."

Mika Summers managed another smile and nodded. "I see. Thank you for telling me."

"Oh, don’t be so formal, sister-in-law. I just can’t stand women who try to wreck a happy marriage." It was true that she disliked Miss Joyce, and it was also true that she wanted to get on Mika Summers’s good side. But that last sentence was heartfelt—she truly despised women who meddled in other people’s relationships.
