Chapter 572 - 570: You Speak, I’m Listening
"I’m tied up in a lawsuit right now and I don’t have a job. I was hoping you could help me find one, and also find me a reliable lawyer."
Hearing Jasmine’s words, Mika Summers’s lips curved into a smile. She lifted the teacup from the table, took a sip, and said with a laugh, "Is that all? Just a small thing like that? But Jasmine, your specialty is medicine. If I find a job for you, it almost certainly won’t be as a doctor."
Jasmine Warren’s brow furrowed. She said in a low voice, "I heard your brother runs a private hospital. If it’s possible, I’d like to work there."
"Huh?" Mika Summers was clearly taken aback. "My brother’s hospital?"
A flash of coldness crossed Jasmine Warren’s face. She raised an eyebrow and asked coolly, "Why? Is that a problem?"
"There might be a slight problem, Jasmine. A lot has been going on with me lately, and my brother and I..."
Jasmine Warren suddenly glanced at the watch on her wrist, her tone tinged with impatience as she cut Mika Summers off. "Mika, I had to make time in my schedule to see you. It’s getting late, I should be heading back. If your brother’s hospital isn’t an option, then just forget it."
With that, Jasmine Warren stood up.
Seeing Jasmine about to leave, Mika Summers quickly stood up as well. "Jasmine, don’t worry. I’ll definitely help you find a job and a lawyer."
"Okay, thank you then. Let’s get together again when we have time."
"Okay."
Jasmine Warren took a few steps, then stopped. She turned to look at Mika Summers, her fine eyebrows knitting slightly as she said with a forced, casual smile, "Oh, by the way, have you seen the wedding gift I sent you?"
"Not yet. Tristan and I have been so busy lately that everything is still sitting in the gift room." Thinking of the room piled high with presents, Mika Summers gave a wry smile.
A flicker of disappointment crossed Jasmine Warren’s eyes, and she gave a helpless shrug. "Well, when you get a chance, be sure to take a look. I’m sure you’ll be very surprised."
Hearing this, Mika Summers was filled with delight. "Really? Jasmine, you little rascal, you haven’t come up with another scheme to mess with me, have you?"
"Of course not. Anyway, it’s getting late. I really have to go."
"Okay." Mika Summers smiled and nodded.
After Jasmine left, Mika sat back down. Staring at the table full of food, her eyes filled with resignation. She pulled out her phone and called Tristan Grayson, asking him to come keep her company.
Tristan arrived quickly, getting there in just over ten minutes.
When he saw that Mika was there by herself, the smile in his eyes deepened. He walked straight over to her and sat down right beside her. "How come you’re all alone?"
"Jasmine left, so now it’s just me." She took a bite of food and answered casually.
Hearing this, Tristan Grayson couldn’t help but offer some praise. "She’s a good friend, very perceptive." ’It’s a good thing she left,’ he thought. ’Otherwise, who knows when I would’ve gotten to be with my wife today.’
"Pfft, of course she is. Tristan, I need to talk to you about something." At this, Mika Summers put down her chopsticks and turned to face him.
Tristan Grayson’s smile faded. He nodded. "Okay, go ahead. I’m listening."
"Jasmine asked me to help her find a job and a lawyer. I can help her with the lawyer, but as for the job... I don’t really know anyone in the medical field, so I’m not sure what to do right away..."
"Medicine? Oh, that’s easy. Aiden Avery’s family owns a hospital. I’ll give him a call and have your friend go straight for an interview."
