Chapter 555: The Truth of the Matter (5)
Yuna Sullivan looked flustered. She took Jason Lockwood’s hand and pulled him over to the sofa. "Jason, there’s something else I need to tell you."
"What is it?" Jason Lockwood was clearly unhappy that Yuna Sullivan was holding his hand, but he couldn’t bring himself to yank it away.
"Jason, you need all the help you can get right now. I was thinking, what if we brought your father over to help us out?"
At the mention of the word "father," a dark look immediately fell over Jason Lockwood’s face.
He knew she didn’t mean his stepfather, Julius Lockwood, but his biological father, Walter Monroe!
"Jason, I’ve had this uneasy feeling lately. I keep thinking something bad is going to happen. If your father were here, we could pin it all on him if anything goes wrong. I’m sure he’d take the fall for both of us."
Jason Lockwood’s brow furrowed, and he refused coldly. "Mom, he’s out of prison now. I don’t want him showing up in our lives again. Don’t bring this up again."
With that, Jason Lockwood headed straight upstairs without waiting for his mother to reply.
When Yuna Sullivan came to her senses, she called out anxiously, "Jason, if something happens to you, how could I possibly go on living? Having someone by your side to support you would put my mind at ease."
"Mom, I’m not against having someone else help me, but it absolutely cannot be him." ’It’s been so many years. He’s not the same fool who went to prison for us back then.’
’So how could he take that risk? How could he gamble away everything he has now? If that man weren’t his biological father, he never would have walked out of that prison alive in the first place.’
Hearing Jason Lockwood’s words, Yuna Sullivan fell silent, her expression incredibly complex.
’He was her only son; how could she possibly let anything happen to him? Even if she couldn’t help him openly, she could always do something behind the scenes...’
’She knew that man’s ruthless methods better than anyone. So with him around, she could at least rest easy about her son’s safety.’
’Once everything was resolved, she’d just send the man back to his hometown. And if he didn’t cooperate, she’d just let him rot in jail for the rest of his life.’
’For the sake of her son’s future, his wealth and glory, she was sure he would agree.’
Master Lockwood woke up the following afternoon. After hearing what Caleb Grayson had to say, he forced himself into a car and went to the police station with him.
At around three o’clock that afternoon, Jazz Dynasty was surrounded by police.
The captain led a team of officers straight to the CEO’s office to make an arrest.
Jason Lockwood was inextricably linked to the two kidnapping cases from the previous day, so he was taken into custody on the spot.
The company employees gasped in shock as they watched him being led away by the police.
Most of them were aware of the commotion from the day before. Although they had hidden themselves away and didn’t dare to come out at the time, that didn’t mean they were clueless. So, under police questioning, they honestly recounted the "battle" that had taken place.
Previously, even when Jason Lockwood had drugged Master Lockwood, leaving him gravely ill and unconscious, Master Lockwood had never considered personally sending Jason to prison.
But this kidnapping involved a child. How could he possibly show them mercy now?
Given Master Lockwood’s prominent status, his personal report to the police was guaranteed to be taken seriously, and Jason Lockwood had no chance of escape.
