Divorce, Please: The Young Master Does Not Love Me

Chapter 246: Interest

Half an hour later, Tristan Grayson arrived at Maggie Monroe’s residence. He had just parked and gotten out of his car when he saw an ambulance pull up.

The housekeeper, Archer, happened to be opening the door just then and stood aside to let them in.

In the living room, Mrs. Lane sat on the floor, clutching Maggie Monroe tightly. With her head bowed, she kept whispering into Maggie’s ear, but Maggie’s eyes were closed. She was so deeply unconscious that she couldn’t hear a thing.

When Mrs. Lane saw Tristan Grayson walk in, she looked up and said through her tears, "Young Master Grayson, you’re finally here. Before Miss Monroe fainted, her only wish was to see you one last time."

Tristan Grayson said nothing, his brow deeply furrowed as he gazed at Maggie Monroe with a complex and pained expression.

He watched as they placed Maggie Monroe on a stretcher and carried her out. Then he saw Mrs. Lane and Archer hurry out the door after them. Only then did he snap out of his trance and follow.

Mrs. Lane got into the ambulance. When she saw that Tristan Grayson hadn’t gotten in, she asked worriedly, "Young Master Grayson, aren’t you coming to the hospital?"

"I’ll be there in a bit."

"Oh, then please hurry, Young Master Grayson. Miss Monroe needs you."

Tristan Grayson’s brow twitched, and he responded coldly, "Mm..."

After the ambulance drove off, Tristan Grayson looked away and walked to his car. He opened the door, grabbed his phone, and pulled up his contacts. His brow furrowed deeply as he stared at Aiden Avery’s name, a contact he hadn’t reached out to in almost six months.

The call connected, and Aiden Avery’s icy voice came through instantly. "Hello? Tristan?"

"It’s me. Maggie Monroe’s condition flared up. An ambulance just took her away."

"Which hospital? I’ll head over right now."

"City Central Hospital!"

"Got it."

Tristan Grayson pushed down his turbulent emotions and drove off.

「Vance Hotel」

The moment Cassian Jennings parked his sports car, a pair of soft, moist lips pressed against his cheek. The woman pouted, a hint of dissatisfaction in her voice. "Why make things so complicated? We could’ve just done it in the car." She was still feeling frustrated about earlier, back at Vespera, when he had refused to touch her no matter how she’d clung to him.

"I don’t like doing that kind of thing in cars."

"Why? Don’t tell me you’re that conservative, Master Jennings." ’The infamous playboy doesn’t like doing it in cars? All the other rich kids I’ve dated would just drag me into it whenever they got the urge, regardless of the location.’

"I just don’t like it in the car. If you don’t want to sleep with me, you can get lost right now!" For some reason, a wave of irritation washed over Cassian Jennings. He snapped, then threw his door open and slammed it shut as he got out.

’After months of abstinence, I was finally in the mood to have some fun today, but it looks like that’s over now.’

"Master Jennings, please don’t be mad! Of course I want to sleep with you! Wait for me!" the woman called out to Cassian Jennings as she scrambled out of the car.

The woman caught up to Cassian Jennings and clung to his arm, whining pitifully, "Okay, okay, don’t be mad anymore. We’ll go wherever you say."

At her words, Cassian Jennings’s expression turned even colder. He reached up and pried her small hand from his arm. "I’m not interested anymore." With that, Cassian pulled his wallet from his pocket, withdrew a thick fold of cash, and stuffed it into the woman’s mouth, cutting off whatever she was about to say. "Take a cab back yourself."

He turned and walked away without sparing the woman a single glance, got back in his car, and drove off.
