Chapter 243: Shameless
Hearing this, Archie Summers looked over and saw that Jason Lockwood had returned.
He had also brought Eleanor Bishop and Rory back with him. At the sight of them, Archie Summers’s expression instantly darkened.
Eleanor Bishop, holding Rory, hurried over to Archie Summers. "Archie..."
"Why are you here?" Archie Summers asked, steadying Eleanor Bishop and pulling her behind him protectively.
"Jason Lockwood took Rory, so I had to follow him. I’m so sorry, Archie..." Eleanor Bishop said, her head bowed pitifully as she choked back sobs.
Archie Summers glared fiercely at Jason Lockwood. "Your methods are despicable and shameless!"
"Archie Summers, if you’d just be obedient, I wouldn’t have to go to all this trouble." Jason Lockwood looked at Archie Summers arrogantly, his eyes filled with contempt and mockery.
Julius Lockwood’s emotions had settled by now. In a heavy, cold voice, he said, "Archie, I was the one who instructed your brother to do this."
"Mr. Lockwood, what’s the point of this?! This will only make me hate all of you even more!"
"If I didn’t have your brother do this, when would I ever get to see my granddaughter? When would she ever be able to return to the Lockwood family?"
"Impossible. Rory is my daughter. She has nothing to do with the Lockwood family. We’re leaving." With that, Archie Summers took Rory from Eleanor Bishop’s arms, intending to leave with mother and daughter.
But they had only taken two steps when Julius Lockwood’s voice came from behind them again. "Stop! I’ve said it before, my granddaughter can only be raised in the Lockwood family."
"And if I refuse?"
"Then don’t blame me for being ruthless. Eleanor was our family’s intended daughter-in-law. If you insist on not coming back, then I’ll have no choice but to have your brother marry her."
"What did you say?" Archie Summers’s heart trembled violently. He turned to look at Julius Lockwood in disbelief.
’He couldn’t believe those words had come from his own father’s mouth.’
"I said, if you insist on not returning to the Lockwood family, then I’ll have no choice but to have your brother and Eleanor get married. After all, they were engaged once before."
Eleanor Bishop cried out in alarm, "Lockwood, you can’t do this! Archie and I already have a child together! How can I possibly marry..."
"That’s right! How can you make our Jason marry a woman who’s already had a child..." Yuna Sullivan was just as frightened and began to sob.
Julius Lockwood shook off Yuna Sullivan’s supporting arm and roared, "Shut up! What does a woman like you know!"
"Mom, Dad’s right. Eleanor and I were engaged long ago. If it weren’t for this... incident, Eleanor would have already married into the Lockwood family by now."
"Jason, but... but she’s already had a child! How could she possibly be worthy of you..."
Jason Lockwood walked step-by-step toward Archie Summers and the others, his gaze fixed on Eleanor Bishop. A sinister smile curled his lips as he said coldly, "I don’t care, Mom. You know I’ve loved Eleanor since we were kids. I’ve dreamed of marrying her. So, I don’t care if she’s had a child with another man."
Eleanor Bishop trembled all over. Watching Jason Lockwood draw closer, she reached out and gripped Archie Summers’s arm tightly, saying in an anxious, panicked voice, "Archie... I don’t love him... I don’t want to marry him..."
Archie Summers turned to look at Eleanor Bishop, then a mocking smile touched his lips. "Jason Lockwood, so you like picking up my sloppy seconds. You really are pathetic."
