Rejected by the Campus Belle, I Find My True Love

Chapter 608 - 606: A Person of Unimaginable Prestige

Sun Yufei took a deep breath, rolled up her sleeves, and strode firmly toward Su Jianqiang. He recoiled like a startled rabbit, involuntarily retreating two steps for every one she took forward. He clenched his fists and held them defensively before his chest, his eyes filled with panic and unease.

"Sun..." he tried to plead for mercy, but his voice was so faint it was nearly inaudible.

Sun Yufei gave him no chance to catch his breath. Closing the distance in an instant, she suddenly grabbed Su Jianqiang by the collar and pulled him close. Her eyes blazed with undeniable anger.

"So, 4,000 yuan, was it?"

Before the words were even out of her mouth, her fist landed precisely on Su Jianqiang’s eye socket, the force of the blow knocking him off balance.

"I’ll give you your 4,000."

Another punch followed, accompanied by Sun Yufei’s icy words, as if she were punctuating the insulting proposal in her own way.

"I’ll give you your 4,000."

A third punch fell mercilessly. Su Jianqiang could only let out pitiful howls, his pleas for mercy rising and falling.

"Ma’am, spare me! I’ll never do it again!" he shouted hoarsely, his face a mask of terror and regret.

Mrs. Su, who had been watching from the side, was stunned. But beyond the shock, she felt... a thrill?! She had never seen such an assertive woman, let alone imagined her husband would end up in such a sorry state.

"That’s what you said last time, wasn’t it? Look how quickly you showed your true colors," Sun Yufei mocked coldly, her eyes devoid of pity.

"I really didn’t know they were your friends! If I had known, I wouldn’t have dared, not in a million years!" Su Jianqiang was on the verge of tears, only now realizing the magnitude of his blunder.

"Friends? Hmph, you’re wrong," Sun Yufei sneered. "They aren’t just my friends. They’re people of a standing you can’t even imagine. Do you understand now?"

Su Jianqiang’s heart seized. Could it be... they aren’t her friends at all, but powerful figures I’ve inadvertently offended? The thought sent a cold shiver down his spine. If that’s true, then unimaginable consequences await me.

"Could it be... they aren’t..." he probed cautiously, both hoping for and dreading the answer.

"This right here," Sun Yufei’s voice was clear and forceful, each word a hammer blow to Su Jianqiang’s heart, "is the owner of Yonghui Supermarket!"

Upon hearing this, Su Jianqiang’s eyes bulged in utter astonishment. "The owner of Yonghui Supermarket? But isn’t Xue Yang the owner? H-how did the owner suddenly become a woman?" His words were filled with disbelief, as if his entire world had been turned upside down.

After the initial shock, Su Jianqiang scrambled to recall every piece of information he had about Yonghui Supermarket. Suddenly, a flicker of realization crossed his face. His jaw went slack, and he pointed a trembling finger at Lin Xi, stammering, "She... she-she-she... could she be..."

Seeing his reaction, Sun Yufei’s lips curled into a cold smirk. She crossed her arms and said with an air of superiority, "That’s right. It’s exactly who you think it is. Now do you understand who you’ve offended?"

Su Jianqiang’s emotions were in an indescribable turmoil. He felt as exposed and helpless as a plucked rooster in a tiger’s den, a tangle of embarrassment, fear, and regret twisting in his gut. He desperately wished a hole would open in the floor and swallow him whole.

"Sun Yufei," he began, trying to find some small comfort, even if it was just self-deception, "are you still holding a grudge for what I did? Did you deliberately hire these two women to humiliate me?"

Sun Yufei scoffed, her eyes dripping with disdain. "Do you really think I’m that petty? That I would fabricate such an elaborate lie just to get back at you? You give yourself way too much credit."

"Then..." Su Jianqiang still refused to accept reality, stubbornly pressing for an explanation as if it would lessen his fear.

"There are some people in this world you can never afford to offend. And today, you just happened to walk right into the line of fire."

Su Jianqiang collapsed to his knees, his face ashen, his eyes filled with despair and terror. He knew full well how vital Xue Yang was to the Qiangsheng Printing Factory, and even more so how much his older brother, Su Guoqiang, valued and relied on Xue Yang. He could already picture the storm of his brother’s fury when he found out—a storm powerful enough to consume him entirely.

As the saying goes, speak of the devil. The commotion outside the conference room finally reached the ears of Su Guoqiang. He had just returned from a trip and was still weary from travel, but he rushed straight to the conference room without a moment’s rest.

However, the moment he pushed open the heavy door and stepped inside, the scene that greeted him was like a bolt from the blue, making his head spin.

Seated on the sofa were two women of extraordinary poise. One, Lin Xi, was as ethereal and refined as a celestial fairy. The other, Si Wen, was equally beautiful, gentle and lovely. Their mere presence seemed to bathe the entire room in a soft glow.

Not far from them, his brother, Su Jianqiang, was crumpled on the floor like a wounded animal—disheveled, bruised, and looking utterly wretched.

"Jianqiang! What in God’s name is going on?!" Su Guoqiang fought to contain his shock and anger as he hurried to his brother’s side, pulling him to his feet and demanding an answer. Though he tried to keep his voice steady, his tightly knitted brow and trembling hands betrayed the turmoil raging within him.

He then turned to Sun Yufei, his gaze filled with a complex mix of emotions. "Miss Sun, are you alright?"

Seeing Su Guoqiang enter, Sun Yufei spoke with composure. "Boss Su, given everything that has happened here today, I think you owe us an explanation." Her tone was neither subservient nor overbearing, showing respect while carrying an unyielding resolve.

At her words, Su Jianqiang scrambled to his knees again, his voice trembling. "Big Brother, I didn’t mean it! I swear! I had no idea she was the owner of Yonghui Supermarket! I thought she was just some regular applicant here for an interview. Believe me, it was all a misunderstanding!"

Hearing this, Su Guoqiang’s worst fears were confirmed. His face darkened instantly, like the calm before a storm. In a burst of fury, he kicked Su Jianqiang away.

"You useless bastard!" he roared, his voice thick with disappointment and rage. "Are you capable of anything besides causing trouble for me? Yonghui Supermarket is one of our most important partners, and you dared to treat them so disrespectfully? You’re gambling with the future of the entire Qiangsheng Printing Factory!"
