Rejected by the Campus Belle, I Find My True Love

Chapter 428 - 426: Don’t Think About Deducting Our Service Fee

Upon hearing Xue Yang’s words, a large portion of the crowd began to waver again. Many of them had only come to join the commotion and return their cars after hearing what others had said. They initially thought the dealership would be hesitant to process refunds out of guilt, and that causing a scene might even net them some compensation. Besides, returning a car without good reason was their fault, so it would have been reasonable for the dealership to deduct a processing fee.

Believing that the bigger the fuss, the better the outcome, they had raised a huge ruckus. However, once the boss arrived and heard the full story, he simply agreed to the refunds. It all happened so smoothly that they didn’t know how to react.

"You won’t deduct our service fees, will you?" someone in the crowd suddenly asked.

At that, the scene erupted once more.

"I’m telling you, this is our hard-earned money! If you dare to deduct any fees, we absolutely will not agree!"

"That’s right, we won’t agree!"

"We won’t agree!"

"Don’t you dare deduct our fees!"

The crowd, which had just been appeased, grew agitated all over again.

Xue Yang raised a hand, gesturing for everyone to be patient. "Everyone, please rest assured. Since I’ve agreed to the refunds, I won’t be deducting any fees."

Hearing this, the people exchanged glances, still not quite believing him.

Soon, the staff Xue Yang had arranged came out. They quickly set up desks, computers, and bill-counting machines. Wu Xiaoya, dressed in the dealership’s business suit, maintained order with a professional smile.

"Please form a line, everyone," she announced. "Due to time constraints, anyone in a hurry can also come back tomorrow to process their refund. Please rest assured, our boss has approved the refunds, and we will absolutely process them for you."

"Little miss, will you really give us a refund?" a man in his early fifties asked.

"Sir, please rest assured," Wu Xiaoya replied. "We are a legitimate business. When we promise a customer a refund, we will absolutely honor it. All you need to do is line up properly."

Wu Xiaoya worked with the finance team to verify customer information. Once a customer’s details were confirmed, their refund was issued on the spot.

The first customer to receive his money back was stunned.

It actually went through.

This was the fastest refund he had ever gotten after changing his mind about a purchase. Sometimes, even when the fault lay with the seller’s defective product, they would find countless excuses to refuse a refund, forcing him to call the consumer protection hotline before he could get his money back. But this time... it was too fast, too smooth. So fast he could hardly believe it was real.

"Jianguo, quick, check if the money is in your account!"

Prompted by his friend, the man named Jianguo immediately pulled out his phone to check. "I got the notification from the bank! It’s the full amount of my deposit, and they didn’t deduct a single penny."

Hearing Jianguo’s words, those who genuinely wanted a refund finally felt at ease. As for those who were just there to stir up trouble, they remained hesitant.

A young couple discussed the situation in low voices. "Honey, I don’t think this boss is a liar," the wife said. "And I agree with him. Gas-powered cars are already facing heavy restrictions in some major cities, so electric vehicles might really become the future trend. If we buy now, we still have a price advantage. Once new policies are implemented, there’s no way we’ll be able to buy a car at this price."

"You’re right," her husband replied. "Let’s not return it. I actually really like new energy vehicles. They’re so cool."

"Okay, then we won’t return it."

Ultimately, the couple decided to take their car home.

As some people decided against returning their cars, the remaining undecided customers grew even more hesitant. Logically, this was the perfect moment for the dealership staff to step in, educate them further about new energy vehicles, and persuade them to keep their purchases. But no one did.

The young boss didn’t say anything either. He simply stood to the side, personally overseeing the staff as they processed the refunds.

Standing next to him was an exceptionally beautiful girl. She remained there quietly, and the surrounding chaos seemed to have no effect on her, creating an aura of serene tranquility around her.

The crowd knew this beautiful girl was the owner’s girlfriend and the future lady boss. From her extraordinary bearing, they could guess she was no ordinary person—perhaps the young lady of some powerful family.

In truth, the crowd’s hesitation wasn’t about a lack of faith in Xue Yang, but a lack of faith that new energy vehicles could ever surpass gasoline cars to become the new trend. But now, seeing how confident the dealership was, their own belief began to stir.

As a result, even more people decided not to return their cars.

"We’re not returning ours either!"

"Neither are we!"

"We’re keeping it!"

After all the back and forth, only two or three people ended up actually wanting a refund—most likely the original instigators of the incident. And so, the matter was quickly resolved.

Witnessing the crowd’s change of heart, Tony couldn’t help but marvel at Xue Yang’s methods. "Xue Yang, you truly surprise me. You handled such a thorny issue so easily."

"These people were just goaded on by others," Xue Yang explained. "If they want a refund, then grant their wish. As long as we are confident enough in our product, they’re the ones who will end up second-guessing themselves."

Tony seemed to grasp the gist of it, but not entirely. Still, the outcome was a resounding success, wasn’t it?

With the incident resolved, Tony left to attend to other business. Xue Yang took Lin Xi’s hand and started walking toward the dealership.

Just then, a familiar face stepped out from the group of customers who had decided to keep their cars. "Xue Yang, do you still remember me?"

Xue Yang stopped and looked closely at the man. "Of course, Brother Zhang. I still have you to thank for being willing to transfer the old shop to me. If it weren’t for you, I never would have thought of getting into the auto market."

Brother Zhang’s face stiffened. He’d had no idea that Xue Yang, a mere college student, was so capable that he would buy up all the surrounding land in just six months and build such a massive automotive center.

If only I had known earlier... But his girlfriend is truly stunning.

A flicker of greed flashed in Brother Zhang’s eyes. He rubbed his hands together and chuckled, his face a mask of flattery. "Boss Xue, are you hiring by any chance? Xiao Zhi can vouch for my mechanic skills. After all, I’m the one who taught him."

"We are not short-staffed at the moment," Xue Yang replied.

Still not getting the hint, Brother Zhang pressed on, "Hey, you’re the boss. Whether you’re short-staffed or not is your call, right?"

Xue Yang nodded and said flatly, "That’s right. It is my call. And I’m telling you, we are not short-staffed."

Brother Zhang choked, the words catching in his throat.

With that, Xue Yang turned and continued walking into the dealership, still holding Lin Xi’s hand.

Watching Xue Yang’s retreating back, Brother Zhang wanted to slap himself.

If only I had known how capable he was back then, I wouldn’t have been so petty and stripped the shop clean. I would have left him some goodwill. That way, I could be working at Xi Yuan now, and with that past connection, I might have even landed a management position...
